Hi Guys
Just found this site and some really helpful stuff here.
Reason I was searching is my HTC Legends touch screen got cracked a few days back and I've been searching for a guide on how to replace it, can anyone help????
The LCD seems fine behind, and the digitizer even still works, just a bit shattered...
Absolutley love the phone, but can't use it at the minute
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks in advance
Very sad story ...
To start...
New digitizer

I hope i never ever have to do this...
Goodluck !
Thanks for the ebay link, cheaper than I'd found.
The guide takes me so far, but has anyone removed the digitizer? Is it glued, or screwed in place?
Thanks for the help so far

HI there.
I have searched through the forum looking at all the various solutions to fixing a broken LCD screen on the TyTn II. I unfortunately broke mine today however its just the LCD thats broken not the screen.
I was wondering if anyone knew of a reliable place to get the phone fixed in the UK or order replacement parts and Ill do it myself?
Is there a guide on how to do it yourself?
Finally, I had an HTC Vox before my TyTn II and its LCD broke as well...it makes me wonder of the integrety of the phone itself!
Thanks for any help in advanced!!

Try www.htclcd.com
all I can say is avoid gps midlands as this guy is a real waste of time and watch out for apex laptops as they tend to charge A LOT.
the best solution for You is insurance, mate... (unless You are confident enough to buy/replace screen Yourself)
think about it. if in doubts, pm for solution.

I have found a service on eBay that looks quite good but need a recommendation. Not sure which one I need:
Replacement LCD Screen:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=160228301787&Category=317&_trksid=p3907.m29
Replacement Touch Screen:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160228303474
My phone, when I turn it on is mainly white with black lines near where I broke it. The glass screen itself is neither cracked or damaged. Do I need a new LCD or Touch Screen?
Thanks again.
consider PROPORTA
For £10, they send you a package to put your device in - give you a quote for the repairs and you don't have to go ahead with it.
Worth it just for the quote, IMHO.
My screen suddenly got a 2x4 cm oil film'ish rectangle in the middle of the screen!
Tried removing the screen protector, which went of really easy btw, and it's still there... Is this the same symptom as when the inner and outer layer of the screen has loosened?
Really don't want to send my phone in for service, but seems like I have too, if no one got a good solution for me?
There is a post exactly like this in the forum. I have the same problem but doesn't affect the functionality of the phone so far. I called HTC while my phone is still under warranty, but they don't give a rat ass about their product. Search for the threat and read what other members said about it. You are not the only one with this problem, thousands of other as well but HTC is not taking any responsibility. Your choice is replace the screen which doesn't cost that much nor difficult from what I read.
Hmm, I'll try to take it through the store, or since it's my corporate phone maybe they'll take it in...
It's a shame if HTC don't take any responsibility about this
Sorry but i can't find the other post in Diamond Foum, can u paste link here please?

The only people I've seen had this problem is people who use screen protectors, but then again I've never really read all that much about it.
Hey guys,
this thread is mainly for those who already replaced their screen successfully
so, last week or so I managed to completely crack my digitizer and the screen, so I ordered a new one. But when I took my phone apart I accidently ripped of the touch sensors/buttons or whatever, which I have also to order to repair my phone.
But the problem was that there was kinda ceramic back that was glued to the screen panel and I dont have a replacement for this. Would this be problematically if I just place the screen ontop without put something sticky inbetween? or better asked, will this hold for a long time and will the display stay at its place without glue stripes or something like this?
And another question, the touch sensors for menu and back button were also fixed with transparent tape, but I dont have some sort of this at home or anywhere else :/ Is this a problem and will the touch sensors work again with a new module?
Because there arent so many on ebay and it seems like there will be no glue with that I can fix the touch panes to the digitizer from the backside.
I hope you can help me and sorry for the bad english, I hadnt lessons for more than two weeks and I have already forgotten the most^^
anyway, thanx a lot
*push*

The links you're posting... That's only the clear glass facing, not the LCD, right?

no that the touch screen only as LCD works perfect but touch not working
Do you know how to replace it by yourself?
The digitizer you posted is actually the touch screen you need.
The adhesive is the glue that attaches this screen to the mobile, you can use double sided tape instead.
I see that both prices are close, 16$ - 20$, so just pick any..
You can find some videos on youtube on how to replace it.
Good luck
Hello...
I would like to say in advance sorry about my English. I just took an Android Phone THL W200 and at the second day of use and after a fall my digitizer is broken, the screen is still working perfect but it's dangerous to use it cause i don't want to have troubles with the screen.
I was searching on internet about to buy a new digitizer i found some of them and i notice that i have two options. The first one is to buy a digitizer with a new screen, i watch some videos on YouTube everyone prefer this one in case to solve the problem. The second one option that i have is to buy only the digitizer and to use the screen that i already have. This one costs much lower than the first one but i can't find any videos or guides about this one :/ If someone had the same problem with me or knows something about that please reply on my post.
Thank you very much in advance about the time that you spend reading this text
Separating the glass from the digitizer is very difficult and risky on this phone. That's why most of the YouTube video recommend getting the combo. This video here shows the separation of the glass from the digitizer on a similar model phone. The process would be the same for your device.
Thank you very much

Thank You very much about your reply... it was really useful i watch the video twice and i think that in my phone will be very difficult to separate the digitizer from the screen because the screen is bigger than W8 :/ i'm going to use this phone until i buy a new one or be brave enough and try to fix it alone...
does this work for any model?
