Hi I have a Polish Milestone with 2.1 from I get a lot of complaints from friends that they don't hear me well during phone calls. I think it has something to do with Crystaltalk. Does anybody has the same or does anybody knows a solution for this?
Hi there, I've got the same problem and I'm discussing about it on another forum, in Italian language, but we didn't find any solution yet. Do you speak Italian? Have you find other informations around on it?
Hi,
it seems that this issue is, sadly, common to a lot of Droid/Milestone owners.
If you check the Motorola owners' forum, under the Milestone section, there is a "mechanical" solution!
Unfortunately it is not a problem of software...pls go to motorola owners forums and search for the thread: "Motorola milestone horrible sound quality issues please advise"
I tried it and it worked.
In poor words it seems that a metal band on the back of the ear speaker (under a plastic cover) is vibrating and causes the problems of fading voices, metallic voices and tunnel effect...
Putting a piece of paper/rubber/or something similar between the metal and the body of the telephone stops the vibrations and the voice turn back to normal.
(but please follow the link, there are also self-explanatory pictures - more easy to do than to explain)
In my experience it works!
Well, for some time it worked but I had to open the plastic cover again after some days to fix again the paper that moved from position and, now, I will have to do again 'cause my friends are saying again that they don't hear me.
So, it is not an "official" solution, but if you read deeply in the forums, there is a huge number of customers complaining against Motorola as the company is not saying anything about this matter, as if it doesn't exist!!!
good luck!,
bye,
Mauro

Hi everybody!
Well, it has good and bad effects to life in a poorer country. I bought a xda over ebay and imported it into Hungary where I work and life. I tried to get some kind of a holder for my car....none.
I tried to get a car cit (handsfree kit with no cable for the headset etc, which even offers the possibilty to connect a gps) ...none
I tried to find someone to build me one....full hit!
If anyone can get hold of the plans + maybe some parts, I will have the guy who does the moldering for realy low money. As far as I know there are plans flying arround how to do it but I could not get hold of them. Further I was also not able to get some parts I think one needs for this.
If we take this all and make a circle out of this there is a cheap working solution, my only trouble is I have trpoubles with the parts and plans.
If you can help me we could produce this cheap and everyone can participate.
What do you guzs think about this?
Maybe I look right now as a cut off, being new here but I am not. I run a company here for several years. Being a newbie in something does not mean to have bad ideas.
Flame me, throw things on me or give me bad names, I dont mind. But I believe there more people out there which would like this question solved but do not have the abillities to do it themselves.
Hi hungarian,
I've the same problems but I've found two companies who build special cables or where you can buy plugs with or without open cables. I think the best one is in Germany:
http://www.gpskabel.de/shop/
I've wrote him today and wait for an answer.
or here:

and in USA:

Please email to me directly to [email protected] for further communication. B.T.W. I was born in East Germany and we will never forget the year 1989 ;-)

this home made car-kit is very funny....
I bought a new motherboard to my n1 because power button wasn't working. I disassembled it fine and swapped the motherboard. When reassembling following this video: www[.]youtube[.]com/watch?v=60yNy4xYcFo , the back speaker don't work anymore. It gives me no sound whatsoever. Everything else is working fine flawlessly, even the power button.
The only difference I had from the video is that my speaker from the back was de-attached after dissembling and I had to put it back and from what I tried, it only fits one way.
Anyone can help me solve this issue please?
i dont know if this is helpful or not, but some of the n1 is modular and you may be able to replace the speaker easily. :-/ i feel for you. dont forget too, you can use a headset or bluetooth headset stereo/no stereo
:-/
My speaker seems like it died today. I have had my N1 since last January.
I searched the forums and didn't find too much on dead speakers.
Are people having this happen more now that the N1 is getting up in age and if so what are people replacing them with?
I found a reference to one site but they want you to buy 5 of them minimum. I am looking for recommendations if anyone has any.
Thanks
A

there was one thread in the accessories sub forum where some guy purchased a nexus one speaker to replace his failed speaker. i think he was forced to buy in quantity though, like 5 speakers at once or something. but i think his replacement was successful.
this was probably 8 months ago or more. but it was definitely in the accessories sub forum for nexus one. try search around there maybe it has useful info.
I vaguely remember that thread, and I think it may actually have been the ear piece speaker that he replaced... Might be wrong though...
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
I tested my speaker with a multitester and I get no reading.
I ordered a speaker off ebay for about $6. I will report back when I get in and install it.

OK, I got my speaker from ebay and installed it. Everything is working again and the multi-tester gave a reading on the new one. So I think I blow out the OEM one. I just hope this one lasts.

Hi folks,
Just got my 2X today, done the first charge and having a play.
Just had my first call on the phone and the person on the other end sounded very muffled... anyone else had experience of this or any ideas how I could fix it?
Might have to send it back for a replacement otherwise as its awful... actually sounded not too bad on speaker, just not good in the ear piece. Even my ancient HTC Hero put it to shame in sound quality in a call.

check this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=996892). I have the same problem.
Thanks mate, just posted on your thread.
Can someone delete this thread please
Hello All,
I have been using HTC One for a month now and its an amazing phone. I am enjoying each moment I use the phone for different purpose.
However in recent days my friends or who ever is at the other end of the phone sometimes tells me my voice goes out / cut . And normally this happens if I hold the phone in between my ear and my shoulders if I had to do something with my both hands.. for example fixing your shoe laces while attending a call.... and at this moment its not necessary that the phones voice-input system is not near the mouth or the voice-output system is not near the ear exactly.... previously I used to have HTC Wildfire and nobody has complained about the voice breakage in such situations.
I am bit worried if my HTC One is having any issues or its because of the extra sensors (if any) that will detect the voice only if kept near the mouth or ears ? Experts please reply or give me a suggestion.
Also I have put the HTC One protective cover (http://cdn.androidcentral.com/sites...80h550/postimages/108579/htc-one-cases-28.jpg)
Not sure if the protective cover has to do something with it.
Please do reply friends... eagerly waiting for a reply on this.
Thanks
hello,i live in mexico and i bought one HTC One and i unlocked it with the help from other threads on the forum.
the problem is that i dropped my device and now the people can't hear me when i make calls, also when i record videos i don't get any sound
or when it records something for soundhound sounds mute.
i would like to know what piece should i buy(maybe if someone could post a link to it )
i can't get the guarantee here in mexico and the people that could repair it says that i would cost me $130DLS for the piece and the installation.
i suppose it's the microphone but i don't know if this piece could solve the problem.

if the repair person can promise your device wont get damaged from the repair( these phones from what ive read, are next to impossible to open without destroying the housing or worse!) that may be an ok option if you cant use it. Or if you are capable find the part you need, buy a replacement housing, jump on youtube and fix it yourself. I think the housings are $35 usd on amazon. good luck!
