hey everybody im new in here and im trying to find g1 roms that make the battery last longer and that are fast, and stable
i saw the rom bible
but wasnt that helpful i was hoping to look for htc hero rom that is very stable and long lasting battery and that when you load up the rom the leds for the keyboard would turn on as well as the missed calls and charging led

Ok, first off, wrong forum, this should be in Q&A. To fix the led problems, you need a program on the market called heroled, I dont know so much about the battery.
Just next time, make sure that you read the rules before starting a new thread.

ok first of all i did try searching but very little came up and tried the few solutions that were posted but to avail. for quite a bit now ive been sending double texts messages here and there. it wont happen with every text, ill say about 20% of the texts that i send get sent twice. now im using [June 15][PDACorner] Ultimate-X.V8 -21068 rom with spl 3.34nonstuckingspl with radio 1.71.09.01. i switched spls from 3.56 and ive tried many radios. so if anyone has any kind of insight i would greatly appreaciate it..thanks!

Well there's a couple of things i'd do change SPL like others posted. "I think you using the mentioned SPL"
Change ROM see if still persists.
If still an issue phone your carrier and ask if any problems with your account "without mentioning anythin bout cooked ROM"
I had it happen once when 7 messages where sent but just hard-reset and all was fine.

im going to try and revert back to another spl. so far ive tried 3.34 and 3.56. ive been using pdaultimate's roms only but other people don't have the same problem. thanks sytlez...ill report back to see if its fixed
I think that it is a mixture of carrier problem , connection problem and inherently the way SMS works. My phone does it , my wife's iPhone does it and my son's LG Vu does it. Not all the time but enough.
In any case it has nothing to do with development of new roms, there is a software forum and a general question forum. Just because you don't get an answer one place does not mean, post it in every section until you get the answer you want.

doesnt it get annoying at some point?
and i didnt post in EVERY section. ive only made this thread in this section and i asked in the pdaultimates rom thread. how would i know the double text problem isn't related to custom roms/radio/spls? thats why im trying to find out what is causing it and how to fix it.

Your gonna want to post in the thread that your using for the rom. IE if your using PDA Ultimate rom post this issue in his thread. Not open a new thread in the rom dev section.. That said i'll leave this thread open in hopes you get a answer but i moved it over to kaiser general to keep our dev area clean of questions as it's meant for rom develoupment.

oh i did post in the roms thread...but like the majority of the time small problems like this doesnt get much attentiion and gets blown off. so yeah...i flashed to pdaultimates's x2 rom and see if it fixes it

Best of luck on that dude, I haven't experienced this myself i've used his roms for years.. so yea, Post in his thread again.. don't be afraid.. maybe some other user has had this.

i dont know if this is possible or not, that is why i am asking the experts here at xda... i had the mlign 3.0 hero rom on my g1 it was to laggy after a while for me so i switched to cyanogen 4.2.5 which is faster imo.. but i really like the camera in the mlign rom though, both video and picture quality was better. so is there a way i can take the camera software from mlign and port it to cyanogens? any and all help would be great!
NO YOU CAN NOT NEED HTC FRAME WORK.

Im wondering the same thing but i juz want the camera/camcorder from cyan 4.0.4 nd down, the ones with the digital zoom and extra contrast features....these stock cameras suck ass

maybe XDA needs to put in place a process that only mods can reply to messages that have been posted in the wrong category. I too am tired of looking at question threads in the development forum but do we really need multiple people filling a thread saying the same thing over and over.

its ok man. dont get soooo heated. they are gonna keep posting where ever they know ppl will see it. so just point them in the right direction if you know. if not just move on. the mod's will take care of this not us complaining and crying.

Ok this is an old post but im using it for a new question since there was only 1 reply lol
tequnically this is a question so i feel it can stay in the Q&A lol but im one of the few un-lucky people who didn't know about XDA when i first got my G1, i was a little slow when this all first started and i finally joined earlier this year..
So my question is...
Is anyone as sad as i am knowing that the G1 section of xda has died down a whoooooole lot...? lol
this section used to be swarming with advanced and new users for the device and had so much going on, around 2009 this place was just moving so fast you could't keep up with the development lol but now it's just sad... makes me wish i could turn back time and be apart of the G1 movement lol sorry to waste your time if you read this... but i really just wanted express that opinion and see if anyone else has anything to say about there fondest G1 memories

Does anybody know how to remove a rom from the rom manager account? when i go to edit, the only option even close is the visibility... but i want to take it off!!! is it possible?
Also i tried to update my developer name and id but it seems to not change on the rom manager app...
Aaaaaand my roms are only listed in premium section lol, how do i maketem free.... they really don't tell you how to do anything on the upload page..

First of all, I am going to assume (perhaps wrongly) that you are 14 years-old (from your user name), and believe me when I tell you: I know that age is hard, and I know because I've been there, however, no matter how hard it was for me I knew that if I dared asking my mother what a word meant, I'd get immediate attention and instructions to f-off and check up on a dictionary (there was no wikipedia nor google back then) and that no-one else was going to do for me what I didn't do by myself, it is with such background that I want to tell you something:
Last saturday I decided to try ICS on my N1, I had no idea where to start since it had been over 8 months when I last did anything to my phone. Still it took me 25 minutes to not only find the right thread, read it, understand it, download the stuff I needed, and read again to make sure I am not doing something dumb, it also was enough time to actually do the whole process.
Now, considering you already found your way into XDA-Developers and you know how to read threads and know how to post questions, I'd say you have wasted approximately 1 hour thinking somebody is actually going to give you the ROM for ICS and Blackrose, let alone baby-walk you through the process.
I am going to assume that most devs are ignoring this thread (and rightly so) as well as most respected members (and I'd like to consider myself a quiet, self-respected member) but still, I do believe its good to take a bit of time from everyday routine to let someone else know "hey! you are doing it wrong" and hopefully get into that person's head and make that little switch go click.

See, now that is different and worth of paying at least a little bit of attention. However I don't believe you have spent hours without making some sense of anything, at least you know about ICS and Blackrose, you may have a rough idea of what you want to accomplish, and so I'll point you in the right direction by telling you to look for the very first thread on the android development forum for nexus one, the one referring to the wiki and to now read it instead of skipping it as you probably did the first time. I'm sure if you read through it you'll understand the basics and will be able to figure it out really soon.

You should read the instructions carefully, the process involves a few steps...
Note that there are 2 o 3 ICS ROMs for Nexus One, and they all have some glitches (USB tethering, camera, SoDs) but they are quite usable.

I am using a ROM, but am unable to leave feedback for the creature since I have less than 10 posts. Can someone help me to provide the feedback on the ROM somehow?

The above link is the one I am using, and it is very good, but a few hiccups here and there that cause it to become unstable.
I am also experiencing some odd battery issue since using it, I dont know why. What happened was I was fiddling around with the settings and thought I would try out the calibrate battery feature with the ROM and see what happened - since then my battery takes hours to charge, but is empty in a few minutes so I am uncertain what happened.
Anyway, if anyone can help me provide some feedback with my experiance that would be helpful

My apologies, this was a typographical error. I mean "creator" rather than "creature" - ie the guy who made the ROM
Sorry if this is in the incorrect secion, this was my fisrt posting. I would still be keem to get an answer to my original query, if possible
