any info or links for this touch you speek of?
htc.com...its a new touch-dual that was released with TWO keyboards
The new Touch is only gonna be tri-and I beleive, and only 2100MHz 3G (that's used in Asia), thus no 3G except in Asia. Also, I believe it won't have WiFi. And it doesn't have GPS. Those 3 factors would hurt its appeal to me.
Oh, and it only has one keypad, but its configured like the Blackberries with SureType (each key has 2 letters on it.)
I was interested too, but yes, no Wifi, no GPS, no real keyboard and smaller 2.6" screen too

enough wrong said maybe...
3G 850/1900/2100 HSDPA and HSUPA. So not only Asia...
And there ARE 2 keyboard versions like mentioned above:
normal numeric-mobile or xt9-20key (like suretype)
Yep, the one that was officially announced does NOT have SureType, at least not the ones they showed at the press conference.
On the bright side, it's a quite a bit smaller than the Kaiser, for those for whom size matters more than usability.

Hey, I'm just going off of what their product sheet says:
http://www.europe.htc.com/z/pdf/products/HTC_Touch_Dual_CH_EN_300907.pdf
Network:
HSDPA 2100MHz
GSM/GPRS/EDGE: Tri-band 900, 1800, 1900
And yes there are 2 diff types of keyboards: a 9-digit and a SureType like one. That doesn't bother me, as I could work with either (i.e. neither of those make me not want it). but until they have a confirmed quad-band true worldwide GPRS/GSM/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA one on all 3G frequencies currently in use like the Kaiser AND WiFi, I won't be interested. But if you are, cool.
And yes, 2100 is used in Europe, I did forget that. It's used in Europe and in Asia, not in the US.
Sorry, that's gay.
I'll keep my Kaiser manphone - and leave the vibrator look a likes for the chicks.
*snigger*
(plus I can't wait!)

It's the same CPU as in the Kaiser, bud - Qualcomm MSM7200 400MHz.
gonna keep my paperweight for a while
here is a comprehensive review plus pictures of the htc touch dual:

Still like the Kaiser better, but damn, that is a comprehensive review. I think it's got screen shots of every window possible.
Jeez thats the most in depth review I ever saw!
well done to him!

....sorry .
I'm looking for another Android after my Nexus 4 failed me... I've had enough of the poor network connectivity issues (non-network related, I have ATT and other phones on the same plan/network around me connect fine, that sometimes I have to use their phone because mine can't--how lame). I'm trying to find information on HTC radio signal strength. I haven't found any sources regarding testing the radio. Can anyone point me to the right places?

Your best bet is to wait for the review from anandtech as I am sure he goes into quite some length about signal quality which should hopefully help you to make a decision, the mini review is up so hopefully the full review won't be too far behind.
Are you looking at getting the international version or the USA variant? As someone from the USA got the international one and was/is having issues with the signal hopping between 3G and HSPA all the time (see below thread)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2210488&highlight=signal+issue
I recently got my brother a iPhone 5 on T-Mobile and I have the HTC one on tmobile and for some reason he will have better service and LTE and I'll have 4g or sometimes 2g why is that ?

They are 2 completely different devices, with different designs, materials, software and antennas.
Comparing the two for reception doesnt necessarily mean its bad or not working right.
Over the years ive learned some entire lines of devices will have "issues" that are just due to design.
To see if your devices is bad compare it to another identical model.
probably just apple boosting the signal bars to make it look better. i have a htc one and my girl has iphone 5 both on tmo but i get better signal than her. not based on bars or if it says 4g or lte just performance
Hi guys,
I have been using this phone for the past 2 weeks and its great (perhaps it uses too much ram idle but doesnt matter)
That aside, I found that the gsm connection isnt as good as my old Atrix HD, it takes more time when roaming between antennas, it loses connectivity in places where the HD have had, etc.
Theres anything that I can do to improve that? I tought that sonce the phone is mainly for CDMA usage, it wasnt optimized for gsm (just guessing) Other rom perhaps? (using xdabbed right now)
Any advice would be great, thanks.
I don't think there is anything you can do to improve it, except not using a case maybe.
In my opinion, Motorola and Nokia have the best cell reception out there, so LG is not going to be as good. I also noticed that my G2 has worse reception than my last Nokia Lumia 925. My wife still has a Nokia, and it consistently gets better signal. I am using my VS980 on T-Mobile by the way.
Yep, before jumping to the g2, I had a lot of moto devices (atrix hd, atrix 4g, photon 4g, etc) and every single of them had incredible signal reception.
I guess ill have to accept the situation. Thanks
Hi all,
I'm experiencing crappy reception on z3c where as nexus 5 has more bars / faster coonection. The issue mostly happens in metro / subway. any radio fix for that?
are you on lollipop?

Well if the issue is when you are in the subway, there is not much you can do to fix that.
the Nexus 5 probably has a better network receiver in it allowing it to get great reception basically anywhere, whereas with the Z3C, although it does have a good network receiver, it doesn't have a good enough one to get good reception when underground
Use 2G only. That might solve the problem :/ settings>more>mobile networks> network type (GSM only)
This means 3G will be disabled
