Aside from this battery and cover completely destroying the sleekness of the Incredible... Is anyone ordering it?
I'm thinking about it, but then again I don't care for the brick look n' feel on a phone.
Nope
Looks horrid.
I own every OTHER battery made for the Incredible (nice strategy ... keep releasing larger and larger). The 1750mah did not do much for me, but the 2150mah is wonderful (especially if you follow the PROPER charging method of: [1] charge with power on, [2] when orange goes to green choose power off, [3] wait for orange to go green again).
is that battery out already? I thought that it wasn't coming out for a while so I ordered the 2150

I actually used this charge method on my 1500 ma battery, and it lasts much longer. Moderate usage and I am still at 70% at 5pm in the day. Unplugged it about 7am.

Quick question. What if you just turned it off to charge it to begin with? Not taking into account if someone uses it as an alarm clock or anything. Just say I turned it off right before I went to sleep.

You are free to mess around as you see fit; but the steps are as outlined. Charge with the power on; wait till green; choose power off; wait till green; unplug and enjoy much longer battery life.
Let's try this again. 3500 Innocell
Got 2 of the 3500's and turned back in the 2150 to Verizon. Got the Charger that allows the phone and the spare 3500 to be charged simultaneously. 1st Battery was put in after the light just turned green from charging. This lasted about 36 hours before the message about needing to be put on the charger came back on. By this time the 2nd battery had been charging for about 15+ hours. Plopped it in and as of right now. The battery usage is reporting 48:21:51 Up time Awake time is 8:03:49 and there is 4 segments left of the 10 showing for the remaining battery. This is the kind of performance I am expecting from a battery. I will later perform a hard test on the battery. I will do an all movie time running of the battery to see how long it can last when the screen is on the full time running Movies.
3500 Mah performance Awesome!
Completed the testing of the 3500 Mah down to 4% of remaining power Watched 4 full length movies each over 2 hours. People who take long flights Get ready for fun. Phone at 4% remaining = 1 bar of 10 on battery screen.
Uptime 26 hours 45 min.
Awake time 13 hours 18 min Based on this a single battery would allow only 1 battery to be used for an international flight from Chicago to Hong Kong and still have plenty of battery left to get to a charger. The bad part is this Verizon phone will not work in HK or China. Different frequency from what I have been reading.
Cell Standby 23%
Android System 21%
Display 17%
Phone Idle 12%
Bluetooth 11%
Wi-Fi 10%
Mediaserver 4%
Voice Calls 2%

looks like I have made my life's worst decision of buying Diamond.
This diamond sucks battery like leech. The battery drops 25% within 10 mins of talk with
all programs off, only phone functions on. Another few calls ( 10-20 mins) and some config settings the battery is flat at 28%. Guys ! are you facing the same. I did some observations,
It takes appx 460ma + while on call( screen on ) ,
drops to 275ma + while on call when the screen is off.
goes to 440ma + for GPRS ( internet , data etc) ( phone on )
takes appx 150ma + with Bluetooth on (( phone on ))
goes to 175ma+ with WIFI on (( phone on ))
remains IDLE with 50ma+ ( no call phone On)
I am checking this on battery status and Power gaurd.
Please suggest if the above power consumptions patterns are fine....
ROM : 1.37.720.2 WWE
ROM Date : 06/16/08
Radio version 1.00.25.03
Left for work this morning at 9:30 (yes, I was late) with my battery at 100%.
Talked for about 40 min, updated weather 3 or 4 times, read for about 20 min during lunch break.
When I got back home at 18:30, my battery was at 68%.
Please note that I applied most (if not all) of the tweaks found on this site. Oh, and my screen backlighting was on Auto.

Update your ROM and also make sure you use the .05 radio, as it has been shown to be better with battery life.
I find on average my phone will last 2 and a half days or so with moderate usage (i.e. few calls/day, texts, internet, few apps run, bit of gps), you may also consider changing your screen brightness to a low'ish setting as this will help preserve battery life and turning gprs off manually. but I do keep mine on auto brightness and with GPRS on the normal default setting
a friend of mine uses the standard radio (.03) without using any tweaks and his battery lasts about 2 days (he calls a lot of people, uses wifi at least once a day)...
I can't tell my experiences because I'm using tweaks...
I've been having similar problems, with the battery sometimes lasting just 12 hours with no usage at all.
Yesterday, my battery ran completely flat, but today things are loads better (still 50% left after 13 hours, including some calls and browsing on 3G/HSDPA).
I'm starting to think that the problems were being caused by a program running in the background which got killed when my phone battery ran out. I'll do some tests over the next few days to try to find out, but I guess the main possibilities are GSen, Opera, Google Maps, or ActiveSync.
Has anyone else experienced similar problems with any of these apps?

Same here with all the tweaks applied.
My baby will get me through the whole laboral day 8:00am to around 7:30pm.
When I get home batt is around 10% left. I let it die then charge.
On the phone for about 40 30 minutes on various calls.
Weather check twice.
Emails 4 times.
And a quick look at xda-developers.
Works fine, you just have to learn how to manage the Diamond. Im still waiting for a new battery though.
Luck Fellas!

A bit OT, but the Li-Ion batteries doesn't like to die out completely.
I had a phone interview today, around 55 min speaking and the battery dropped from 100% to 70%, so not that bad!

As far as I know it's OK to do a full charging cycle every some time, like once per month or so.
My battery easily lasts 2 days with moderate use
I get 2 days out of mine - note also that battery life improves markedly after a few charging cycles - mine ran down scarily fast the first 2 or 3 days!

This is what I know:
Every battery (doesent matter what kind) has for example 1000 charge cycles that will be 100% Strong. After the 1000 charges the rate starts to fall. You get only 90% after the 1000 charges ect.......
Soooo
You have to make the best out of your charges. The best way of doing this is by drastically cutting of charge sessions. You let it die and then charge it FULLY (and by fully i say till the Diamond tells you its full with its kick a** full circle.
Thats all fellas. Lucks to all!

Same with me. The first two or three days I was barely getting a whole day. I use push email constantly and make regular calls. I occaisonally use GPS. My battery happily lasts two days, although it is very low by the end of the second day. I also turn the phone off overnight.

I found this to be my biggest problem. If I turn this on my battery is fully flat in about 6 hours. Until my new 1800mah battery arrives, i'm back to pop/smtp.
Just to be on the safe side I bought a cradle which also charges a spare battery, an extra ordinary size battery and every night charge the device and the spare. First thing in the morning I swap the batteries over and pack the fully charged spare. Got mine from gpsforless and it cost £17.99 with the spare battery. Bargain.
blimey, that was a bargain considering it includes a spare battery as well!

Got the same one. So far the battery life has not been great but I am hoping it will improve over time as some people are reportin. Will get a 1800 battery for power use.

I had exactly the same problem where my diamond battery barely lasted 3 hours.
Turned out to be a faulty phone, not the battery. Tell tale sign is if the Diamond gets hot below the battery, not the actual battery
Ok so this is what i noticed has been happening with my phone...
I wake up in the morning and i unplug my phone from charger at 100% battery life...
after about 1-2 hours of no use (outside of occasional check of time) and no programs running i notice that 25% of life has diminished...
i have turned 3g off and done most of the kaiser tweak settings that help with battery life. for the rest of teh day i can use the phone and battery life runs normally but it seems the first 25 to 30% drops real fast without use
is everyone experiencing this? is it normal?
KP
The problem lies in your first sentence. "I wake up in the morning and unplug my battery." You are charging your battery too much thus killing it's battery life. I only charge my phone in the day while I'm at work. That way I can unhook it when it's fully charge. I would go on ebay and type in OEM battery Kaiser. You can pick one up for 15-30 dollars new.
From what I understand. Leaving your battery in the charger when it is fully charged should not damage the battery as long as its not there for an excessive amount of time but i might be wrong. Either way i have no way of charging the phone during the day as im on the go most of the time so this would mean even if i get a new battery it wont matter because it wile eventually do the same as i have only used this phone for about 3 or 4 months now. any other possibilities or solutions?
or should i just take it as it is and just buy a new battery maybe a bigger seido?
I thought Lithium ion batteries have overcharge protection. I charge mine overnight which I am sure a lot of others do also with no negative effects.

I do... Maybe I shouldn't?
I would hope it has Overcharge Protection!!!
With NiCad Batteries if you overcharged them you would kill the life of the batteries.
And while all batteries do this LiIon are least tolerant. If you overcharge a LiIon battery, that is without Overcharge protection, the LiIon Battery with BURST INTO FLAMES! Thus the problem with the Sony Batteries that caused all those Laptop battery recalls.

Thats total BS with lithium batteries.
To the OP: Try running down your battery completely once, until the phone switches off by itself, then recharge fully. If you never do it and always recharge before the battery is empty the battery's power meter can lose its calibration over time and display weird things.
If it doesn't help, and you can notice a drop in overall life time you might need a new battery.
I have the exact same "problem" with my Tytn II.
Is slows down evenly though. (So the first 5 % of battery vanishes in minutes basically while the last 5 % can last for an hour, when it's half full % will last somehwere in between these two extremes).
Personally I've just interpreted this as poor measuring done by the hardware and/or software. (Ie I don't think the battery performs better the less full it gets as the meter in Windows would have me think)

Hmm...I don't see how turning my phone off to charge would increase the charging rate dramatically. My phone in standby mode uses 1% every 2 hours.
depends highly on roms and especially on radios.
with a crappy rom, battery could drop as fast as 10% per hour.
with a decent rom, battery drops in standby mode at a rate about 2% per hour.

If the phone is on but on standby that barely changes a thing. If it's on, with display illuminated then yes it might take you an extra 20 minutes to charge.. no big deal either.
*UPDATE*
ok so i drained my battery last night completely(turned on navizon, tt7, and skyfire) which took me about at most 2 hours.
Put it in for a charge
woke up at 9 and checked to see and it was 100%
I have push mail set to update every hour and i also run pocket sportscenter autoupdates which updates every 10 to 15 minutes
I used the phone for 5 minutes of calls
5 minutes of web surfing
a few text messages
and the occasional time check
at 6:30 pm battery life was at an amazing 90%
i was thrilled.
i continued to surf the web heavily from 730 to 8
a few more text messages
at 9 battery was at 67%
so i gotta believe that draining the battery helped recalibrate it...
i guess every 2 or 3 months i got to drain it out and give a full charge
thanks for the help guys
really appreciate it
Hi
My Nexus One just completed one year by this july.
And my problem is that My battery switches OFF at 23% battery.
That is, when it reaches around 23% it suddenly show 0% and switches off.
similarly when i charge the battery after around 75+ % it suddenly jumps to 100% percent and says charging completed.
I tried manually deleting the battery stats file.
I tried the Battery Calibration tool.
I tried charging the mobile to 100% as soon as its starts to shut down.
But still the same issue.
Is there a way to calibrate it or do i need to buy a new one ?
My rom : OxygeN1mod
I am getting around 6 to 8 hours if i use Gprs or wifi.
Another query :
in ebay.in 3200mAH battery is 9800 INR which is too high for me ( i bought my mobile for 14000 INR)
1400mAH battery is 2400 INR.
So is it better to buy a spare 14oomAH battery or a 3200 Battery ?
Please help me.
THanks in advance
Any one , please help
Tha'ts not normal if it's shut down at 25% ! ! !
Normally at 10%
Should buy à New One
If you don't care about the design of your n1. I suggest you the 3200 one
Sent from my Nexus One using Tapatalk 2
I heard that you can't fully charge the battery while the phone is running, it has too leave room since the battery is in use at the same time it's charging so it wont overcharge and ruin the battery.
So I was recommended to shut the phone off once in a while to charge the phone to full 100%.
Mine is now starting to die at around 20% but when new it died around 10%, newer lower.
But then again the battery could just be going bad.
Sent from my Nexus One
Install de battery calibrator (for nexus one) search in the google play
Verify the field "battery age" and set to 100%
Reboot and give a full charge
Drain normaly the battery, and look the percentage of the shutdown
If your phone shutdown on the 15%, set the battery age to 85% (100%-15%)
If dont work try:

So, the salesperson told me to fully use the current charge on the phone and then told me to charge it for 6 hours straight.
Now the 30% battery it had lasted for quite a while I fully discharged it, it turned off on its own.
Now it's been charging for 3 hours and it's already full. Should I leave it for the full 6 hours? or can I use it now?
I'm a bit anxious but I can wait if its better for the phone.
Thanks
You're gonna get different answers with no scientific backing.
So here's the first: just do an extra 45 mins to an hour after it reaches 100%.
If you click the link in my sig and scroll to the bottom of that post you'll see my battery life which, is pretty decent.
Thanks

This is sheer non sense. Once the phone reaches 100 percent, the kernel cuts off the charging . What use would it be by charging it for another 45 hrs?

I second this. Charging batteries had specific charging instructions years ago, that no longer holds true. Just charge the phone and use it. it's not that big a deal.
It's just for calibrating the battery.
Let me just get this out of the way: most of the time it doesn't make a difference.
The only time it could (not always) make a difference is one of the following scenarios:
-phone sat for a long time while turned off (i.e before you purchase it)
-you hooked up your phone to the charger many times throughout one day and didn't allow it to hit 98-100% before you unplugged.
The battery has a chip built in [most lithium ion batteries have this because they are A) explosive and B) can kill you] which is responsable for a few things:
-"guessing" your current battery percentage based on the minimum and maximum recorded voltage value. For example let's assume a phone with a 5v battery shuts off at 3v. When that battery reaches 4v it will display 50% battery left.
-deciding what the shutoff voltage is. What I mean by this is let's say for example when your 5v battery reaches 3v at the end of the day, the chip decides it's time to shut off the phone and prompt you to charge it back to 5v
-constantly reading the the voltage in order to use that data to perform the decisions listed above
The voltage sensors in phones are, well, pretty bad due to the inherent space and power limitations. The voltage values swing back and forth between different values that are (sometimes) close to the actual value the battery is at. So the battery chip has to calculate an average based on all these voltage values. It then uses that data to do it's job, which is shutting down your phone when it needs to as well as display battery percentage.
So by leaving the phone in for a little longer after 100% once in a while, all you're doing is allowing the battery chip to collect more voltage readings in order to calculate the average more accurately. You're just doing it for the sake of sample size.
Realistically unless your battery is not calibrated, it doesn't really make a difference. But a phone that just came out of a sealed box is likely to need calibration depending on the manufacture date, or how long it "sat" for.

It may cut off charging..
But on my X (Dev for Verizon, stock and rooted), even after reaching 100%, the battery symbol still continues to show the "lightning bolt"/charging symbol. If I leave it connected to my Anker Astro 3, it continues to draw power until I unplug it.
@MrEndless, I agree with DaRkRhiNe and scorpion667. You're never going to get a straight answer.
Me, I ran mine down until the phone shut itself off, then charged it up to 100% and left it go over night and took it off the charger in the morning.
Once every few weeks, i do the same. Run it down until it shuts off and then put it on the charger and let it go until its been at 100% for a while. I never really say "xx minutes" or "xx hours" after 100%. It just depends on how long before I have to leave the house.
Well bought this phone back in mid 2017,and because of sickness I haven't used it that much at all.
I charged the battery 11 times so far and was keeping the phone in a desk drawer.
A month ago I noticed that the phone won't turn on,so I plug the charger on and charged the battery to 100 %.
I supposed that the phone was on,I didn't turn it off,and the battery left to 0% and shutdown the phone.
I really can't say how long it was on 0% (suppose like maybe a month).
Today I noticed very bad battery results.
Batterylife with GSam Battery Monitor is around 12 h only.
Was the "bolded text" the reason that battery died or the reason was not using the phone for 2 years?
Is there a software to check the damage of the battery?
I installed accubattery pro but for some reason doesn't offer me Health status of battery.

I would give the battery a few full cycles to see it that sorts it or yes, the battery it would seem is on its last legs. I don't know what app to recommend as an alternative though. (My battery is 23 months old and still performs as it did when I brought the phone)
I would drain it to 5% (maybe 1%) then charge it to 100% (without using phone while charging) a few times.
Then see how it goes. Afterwards charge phone from 20% or 15%.
Ok.I will charge it to 100% and report you with results with duration time on battery and you tell me how bad is it
