Hi,
does anyone know how to change pagepool for TOPAZ, if I want to have more free RAM ? I dont want to change ROM.
thanks for help.
You can only change the pagepool on the rom before flashing it. Therefore, if you want what you have now, but with a smaller pagepool and therefore larger ram, you will need to find the rom you have (cooked or shipped) and change it with this tool (thanks to the developer, not me).

Gonna test this right away
No the rom speed is good...i am uploading right now
(real)AKU1.0.0??
@ather90
what It can reflect the AKU1.0.0(real)?
How can get the 80M Ramdisk? The Program: 61.25MB??128-80=48M(60.25)??
and the pagepool is it loss??
the term "real" was meant for RAmdisk....the RAMdisk isnt affecting any feature of the ROM..first u guyz were complaining about low ramdisk and now Biger RAMdisk
Just test it out and u i'll know the difference
I will test it soon as I have time for it. Thank for your work
after a soft reset the ram disk loses all data.
not good, sorry.
This one is still based on the very old WM6 Wizard ROM.
It has lots of ghost-files in it.... (like touch.dll; *.dsm; ... )
Curious if this one is more stable then the others !
Thx for your effort... appreciate it (really)
Thank u guyz ..really appreciated it
Files in ramdisk lost after softreset
Hi ather90,
I've installed your ROM, its fast..
one problem though i find programs installed in ramdisk dissappeared after soft reset ...
Any chance for a quick fix ?
-Erman
What is your pagepool size and how did you manage to squeeze-in so much RAM Disk.
would it be possible that you release a 32mb ramdisc version?
Carkit not functional with this rom
Syed,
is the carkit functionality builtin this time? This because after flashing your newest rom there is no sound from the carkit speaker. I used wavedev2.dll and edited the register with taskmanager for wm6. This gives no result. Can you help me?
Greetz Frotter
i will see what i can do
@wertzui
I will release A.S.A.P
thanks, but could you also do something about the problem, that the ramdisc gets erased everytime, a soft-reset is done?
Little question:
What are the differences between AKU 0.7 and 1.0.0?
Thx.
does it have the problem of lost sms?
mine is a T-mobile MDA. I had 696 wm6(chn) rom and got lost sms. Is this new one ok with this issue? thx.
Hi, ather90! First, let me congratulate: nice good job!!! But, one question: this ROM is the only one i see with OS version number 5.2.2000. is that real or a 'personalization'? i'm searching for a kitchen to make my own cooked ROM, but i found only TofClock one... in case, have you planned a your kitchen for n00bs like me?

There is no version of WM5 or 6 available for 2020i and there probably never will be.
BTW I do advice you, next time you visit a forum, first browse it so that you know that you're in the right section. 2020i is known here as Alpine and has its own section here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=249 to clearly seperate it from Himalaya. In that section your question has been asked and answered over and over again
HTC finally released a ROM upgrade for the Wing. Appears to be just Windows Mobile 6.1, but I'm no expert. Did it fix the Pagepool?
Anyway, here it is:

I run this updated for a couple days and had many problems. I ended up flashing back to the older ROM

may be you should have read more before posting this thread, cause there is already like 3 threads about this. But anyways, the ROM is still 6.0 not 6.1, and it sucks just as much as the orignal. Plus in some cases it can cause serious problems while loading the ROM. In anycase, my reccomendation would just be to flash a custom ROM.
Wing ROM
Sorry! As you see, I am a junior member, so when I didn't see this posted, thought I'd disseminate some useful info. As you are an authority, a few questions: other than the Pagepool fix and unloading a few useless Microsoft programs, is there any benefit to using an homebrew ROM? This assuming you have your Wing tweaked to perfection with the old ROM.
Also, ?is it possible to use Sprite Backup to restore your system to a new ROM? or does each program and tweak need to be separately placed and adjusted.
Thanks,
Paul D.
yep.
newer builds=faster=more awesome
also you don't have to tweak it yourself
Wing ROM
Thanks. Which ROM do you recommend? My Wing has the Battery Status for speed, Pagepool for memory, iFonz for program selection, S2U2 for class, and Inesoft Dialer/Address book for communication with ease. It's a little slow but not annoyingly so.
Again all advice is appreciated.
Paul D.
If you customize your wing a lot it's the best you start with one of the lite version of roms to enable you the most out of your storage space and program memory.
I personally use open touch v4 but there are many good roms. Check the rom review thread in the rom section.
So I set my phone to use a dynamic pagepool that resizes itself to whatever size it deems necessary and the phone seems much snappier, even though I'm using a LZX compressed ROM. The only draw back is that it uses as much RAM as it wants at any given time... or so theory goes...
How'd you do it? I want to try it out.
Just set the page pool to 0.
that.is.cool
gotta try this. How much ram do you usually have?
and do we use the same page pool technic to set it to 0 because i dont think i ever seen 0?
no. There is a pagepool setter included with some kitchens, and i'm sure you can download it somewhere.
it allows you to set the pagepool of a .nbh file, which means you will have to reflash to do it. Just choose "custom value" and pop in "0".
I'm sure you CAN do it with the .bat file powered one, but it would take just a tiny knowledge of batch code.
Does anybody actually have this tool and is willing to share it? I would like to set my Vogue ROMS to have a dynamic pagepool but can't seem to get my hands on this tool anywhere...
This is my favorite pagepool changer. It's a really well written one. I haven't used the newer versions, but I still actively use the older versions. (Just noticed there was a newer version.)

Hmm so all I should need to do, theoretically, is set my pagepool to 0 and it will be dynamic? I want to avoid re-flashing my phone if it can be helped so unless I have accurate information...
I'm sure you get the idea.
Main reason for this is because I recently had a Vogue brick because of a corrupt sector caused by flashing 10-15 times a day. Not a pleasant experience.
that sets the pagepool on a .nbh rom file, so you will have to reflash.
you dont have to flash your herald in order to change the pagepool you can use this tool and it only takes seconds to do it. I recommned you change it to 6mb, more stable and faster.
Here is how:
1)download the files
2)extract the zip file
3)connect ur wing using ur usb cable
4)open the folder called page pool size
5)doble click on backup dos icon(u should look @ ur wings screen for a message, click installe on ur wing)
6) after the phone fished n is go n dobleclick on which ever pool sizeu want (6 is the best n most stable)
7)ur doing 2 c a pop up on ur computer for about 5 sec then after thepop up is gone simply disconnect ur wing n soft reset
8)enjoy more program space...
did you do this yourself? What rom are you using, because i've heard that this method does NOT work for wm6.1, but they might have updated it.
Here is the original thread....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=324955
No updates yet and your right it does not work with wm6.1.
It might work if you cook the WM6.1 ROM with a pre-"bepe's extended kitchen" kitchen. But if you're using any wm6.1 ROM except for my LZX one, you probably ARE using one that was made with bepe's extended kitchen. And my LZX isn't compatible anyways, since it has a different base as regular Herald Bases.
translation from whatever language ivan just posted in

No man! It's working! I just tried this on WM 6.1. It does work.
Can anybody tell me how to decrease the boot time of my WM 6.1?

That's completely unrelated to the Dynamic Pagepool...
Please post a separate thread AFTER having searched.
HINT: There's a HUGE sticky thread in one of the Herald subforums.
Anyhow, if it's a cooked ROM, it might already be moving as fast as it can. The only other thing you can do is recook it with less files. A cleaner Windows folder = a faster device.
Is there any way to change pagepool on Wings running WM6.1? similar to this method: http://www.modaco.com/content/elf-t...ng-the-htc-touch-t-mobile-wing-pagepool-size/
And what would be the effects of doing so?
Also i have an kind of stupid question. How to i check which version of the 6.1 rom i have in the device? I updated using one of the roms here on XDA-Developers, but i don´t remember which one.
I am using Rom of Sonblack cooked with pagepool 8Mb. Somebody comment this version with pagepool 8Mb is not smoothly and they suggest we try to use this version with pagepool 16Mb will be more faster.
But i don't know how to change pagepool from 8Mb to 16Mb with Samsung Rom. Since, it's really easy with Xperia X1 and not easy with Samsung i8000.
Please help!!!
wanna know too ????

The page pool is cooked into the rom.
Sonblack has a change page pool app I gave him and he should
be able to provide a patch to change the page pool.
