Can someone please upload this to a premium or FTP account please? This link has a 10 download limit.
Note: XP SP2 or Vista with MS .NET Framework required to use it.
Remember to backup your phone and use HardSPL before you flash ANY rom!!
Download the BaseRom you wish to use here on XDA and extract your RUU_signed.nbh. Download the kitchen and read the included instructions to install and start cooking!
Unrar Kovsky kitchen to the root of c: so you have c:\kovskykitchen

I started this thread because I could not see one for an Xperia rom kitchen.
I have modified a Raphael Kitchen so it will cook X1 roms. Is anyone interested? If so, I think I will have to get someone's permission to release it.
Any ideas / does anyone want the kitchen?

Yeah, I'd be interested in learning how to cook ROMS. How hard is it to learn how to do it? I've been a developer for many years so have a good level of technical skill.
Cheers

Pretty much the same except I have removed everything that is Raphael and replaced with X1. There is also some config updates in Dark Simpson's tool so it signs the rom properly.

Cheers itje, I will release it this weekend with credits. Everyone else, standby - just need to test it a bit more.
Anyone hoping to use the kitchen should look for the tutorials for using it as there is no point in me writing another one when there are already plenty of good ones at XDA.

Hi,
Please could someone do a guide/tutorial for this kitchen.
I am aware that there is a guide for the Kaiser, but is this really the same?
It would be nice if there was a step by step and 'what you need' list so that people can start dumping/cooking roms for themselves.
If there already is a guide/tutorial then I apologise, could someone please link?
Thanks,
Phil Rich

Is there any other mirror for this kitchen? The current mirror keeps failing me at 10%.
I'm not sure why though.

I think you have to take this out to an existing Chef in a PM. Most of them are already busy with developing ROMs and their personal life. So, you really have to pe pursusavie in your request.
Good Luck!
Thanks for your answer.

Hello all.
Since English is not my native language and I'm some sort of new and not familiar here, I may need your help.
Bought X1 last week, after trying some nice guys' rom in xda, I'm wondering if I could able to cook my own rom, I mean to customize my system. I was wondering if I could ripped those things come along with offcial rom but not need, and those things I needed but some really good guys' roms don't have.
So, I am thinking of cooking a rom for what I need, can modify system file it self, such like, rip out "Block Recognizer" and replace it with "PlumSIP" (A really nice Chinese input method), just for example.
And in 2003Se I know some external softwares can be customize installed by extrom, I found out WM6.1 seemed used a special way, like build into a single image file...
Well, generally speaking, I am hoping someone could help me, to show me some tutorial to read and do myself.
Thanks a lot.
PS:Have downloaded kitchen pack, but don't know what all of those soft. would do... For now, I just know how to decomplie an offcial rom in to nb files..
I would also like some info on cooking. I have searched and read a lot on this site but I'm no closer to getting anywhere. I tried to follow the instructions to backup my ROM as they are very easy to follow, but it didnt work.
Does anyone cook with Vista?
What kitchen programs are out there?
Do you have to have a specific kitchen program for each model of phone?
I found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=448809&highlight=kitchens but its outdated

for now I am trying to figue out each module's really would do....
Try jerpleas kitchen in the sticky at the top to start out with. It'll give you the basic kitchen with which you can build a working rom (and simple customization)
Then search for ervius multilang gui for bepes tools (i've linked to it a few times now in this forum).
That's the best I've seen so far, you can dump a stock rom using it and start adding from there.
Cheers dude, i appreciate that :thumbs up:

that may help, thanks. but i'm still looking for tutorials for how to modify dumped rom files to fulfill my own needed.
The only advice i can give is to search search search... There was a large area of trial and error when i cooked my first rom. Some tutorials worked some didn't and its like a combo of everything that will get u going.
IMHO; ervius has the better kitchen, but not for beginners
I agree with Fards: your best bet is to start with the sticky posted one and get used to the basic cooking process on a first place
i think so too. use sticky.
to get feeling for cooking its not needed to read the "X1-TUTORIAL".
check tutorials for diamond, ralphi, hermes and kaiser ... than you will get some aha-effects and you will see some identical rules for syntax and how-tos for cooking with this sticky kitchen.
normaly its not realy possible to make a tutorial for every pda-type cause ...
i dont know why but its o.k., if i look to me i see me dont like reading but more not writing anything ...

good idea, you've pointed me a way.
but i wonder if that is something different from x1 to those diamond, kaiser, raphel blah blah blah...
if you need more petrol for starting i can say only "begin now".
its not realy the same but its realy realy realy near the same.
Hi All,
I'm trying to cook my first ROM and would like it to be on WM 6.5
I tried the Blackstone kitchen posted here but unfortunately all the WM6.5 ROMs are not extractable - I tried ALL of them.
Would any of the ROM cookers be kind enough to make his ROM extractable by the kitchen or perhaps point me to a tutorial explaining how to create a WM6.5 ROM for the Touch HD (i.e. import from a ROM cooked for another device).
I did search the forum before asking but couldn't find anything.
Your help is much appreciated and thanks for your help in advance.
I guess starting with a WM6.5 rom isn't that clever, as you must know a lot of xip porting. I haven't tried it myself, but as far as I know there were also some issues with the drivers.
Have you already tried davideuck's version? "Rom-source" sounds good, doesn't it?

I've always wondered what the [ROM-SOURCE] means but now I noticed that davideuck has included the SYS and XIP. Although I still have no idea what these are, it's food for thought and I'll do some digging to get more information.
In the meantime, if anyone can help with any information, it will be much appreciated.
I appreciate your reply john, thanks very much.

Some information is given here:
ivanmmj said:
Q: What is the XIP?
A: It's the kernel of the ROM.
Q: What is the SYS folder?
A: It's where all the new apps included in each Windows Mobile release are stored. PM me asking me where to find them.

My problem, as I said in the first post, is that all the WM6.5 ROMs are not extractable - I tried ALL of them.
I am now playing with ROM/Kitchen posted in this thread - exactly what I need.
I have already cooked a ROM using the thread above and will be adding my apps and registry tweaks possibly this weekend when I have some spare time.
Thanks for your help John.

Stop that silly discussion! Both of you! This does not develop anything! And that's what we are for, here! Each of You does a good job for himself! Now, you have to learn to work together! Calm down, both of you! What about your own projects? Any progress?

About extendir driver, it's already in xip. But it's needed to rewrite trueffs driver or mspart to map it as storage/imgfs merged with psychic part of this. I didn't figured it yet. I think good idea is to move all imgfs images like wallpapers, ringtones, some other stuff like camera to extendir and use it with changes path. It will not need any user operations to run, just keep it as readonly and run from there. Easy, i'm developing now.
d-two - it's really annoying to read how awesome you are, stop to annoy and PM muckelmaus to get a himalaya to develop. I know you are good.
