Hi i too am trying to tame this beast of an issue...
still looking...
found this

I too would very much like a Cisco VPN client, and one that's fairly easy to set up where the settings correlate to my Windows client.
As far as I know, there are no Cisco VPN client for mobile devices.
However, I've successfully used a VPN Client from BlueFire Security towards a Cisco Concentrator from my previous HTC Trinity device.

I managed to get a trial of the new bluefire VPN client and it works a treat
thanks!

Cisco VPN on g1

Hello,
i am searching for a VPN Client on g1 .... i installed one from the market but it didnt worked with my universitiy cisco vpn. I also searched the forum but didnt found anything working. The iphone client worked with my university vpn ... is there any comparable client for android?
/edit i didnt test the froyo build-in vpn on my universities wlan but with the one from donut i couldnt connect, so if it isnt any different i would need an third-party client.

> server address
> account name
> password
> group name
> secret
for the connection
now, how do i work this into the android client
i tried configuring using different combinations of this info above
but it says "Unable to connect to network. Try again?"
i have a rooted samsung galaxy s 2.2 stock froyo
any help is really appreciated
tia
edit: the handset is technically a samsung captivate, although I don't suppose it'll make a difference
Unfortunately the stock Android kernel won't work with a VPN requiring a Group Name. If you've got a google account (eg a gmail address) you might want to add another star to issue 3902 to ask for this to be fixed.

It can be done if you replace the firmware with something which includes the tun device. The Galaxy SII supposedly includes this out of the box.
The alternative is to reconfigure the VPN to use L2TP/IPSec and authenticate with a certificate rather than preshared key.

Sorry those two links, well, aren't links. Being new here I'm not allowed to post links in case I'm a spammer.

Using only the built-in VPN client it's not possible to connect to a Cisco VPN.
I made a small How-To (Link) to get this working on 2.3.3, but I think this way should basically work for FroYo too. Maybe you should give it a try

[Q] Stock IPSEC VPN Client

I'm having a helluva time getting my IPSEC/L2TP client to connect to a server that formerly worked before the 6.0 upgrade.
I found a link that appears to report a relevant bug:
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=194269
Does anyone know of a VPN client that works with this kind of VPN until the bug in the stock client is fixed?
Thanks!
