Is there a mode like "power saver" Windows in N1? - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a mode like "power saver" Windows in N1?
I'm guessing it is = plane mode on + silent mode
or = locking your N1 (by tapping the power button)
Is it true like that?

Press and hold your power button and then select "Power Off".
Reason why I say that is because if you are putting your phone in airplane mode, disabling sounds, and locking the phone, at that point you might as well just turn the thing off.

Except you need to wait a while when you want to use it.

Don't know about you, but running froyo my boot times are so fast that the animation doesn't finish its first cycle... maybe that's your solution! Turn it off and accept a stupidly fast boot up

Well, I figured that by the time that the phone's battery is so low that you would need to put it in such an extreme power saving mode, you would only be planning on using it for emergencies.

[Q] Safe boot for Galaxy Note ?

Hi,
Is it possible to boot in safe mode, i.e. with no user application autoloading ? Does this capability exist with any stock or custom ROM or Kernel ?

Thanks.
Does it exist in any Android implementation ? If yes, is any Dev working on it for the SGN ?
Android doesnt know what safe mode is

I think that's not entirely true.
A couple of users complained about their device booting in safe mode accidentaly, and someone knowledgeable (like Dr. Ketan, for instance, I'm not sure) said that you can boot in safe mode like this:
Tap repeatedly on the menu button while your Note is beginning its boot.
Never tried it though.
The trick is to be holding the left/menu button during the transition from the animated "S" screen to the screen that follows. BUT, the key must also be unlit. Because the LED automatically turns on again after 3 seconds, you have to tap and hold the key every couple of seconds, and do it quickly.
Update: Depending on the phone and firmware, you may just need to hold the menu button until Safe Mode appears - which makes it easier.
To exit safe mode, hold the power button for 8-10 seconds. It will force a full shut down. Then power it back up normally.

Its like the safe mode in PC
Basically crash the sgn and I think it will boot safe mode, although I didn't do it on purpose
(I think you can make it happen by fully using up all the ram and thus making it super laggy which could freeze the device then constantly press the home button constantly) but take my word on it...

If some misbehaving application autoloads and makes the phone unstable (bootloops) it is often impossible to identify the culprit and frezze/uninstall it. Safe mode may help regaining control and diagnosing & correcting the problem.
Safe Boot does work
You've got to constantly tap the left/menu touch button, tap-hold-let-go the button on every one second interval while powering on. Then it'll show when it reaches the lock screen, that device is running in Safe Mode.
As said above, Just keep pressing legt touchscreen button and home button, it worked for me, but all apps in the app drawer are set back to 'the begin' ;p

You can Simply boot safe mode without 3rd party apps
Boot your phone holding both up volume and down volume key
and your phone will start in safemode so you can remove any app that may coz problems

[Q] Prevent shutting down Xperia Z when passcode lock is on

Hello folks,
I'm wondering is there out any soft whom can prevent someone else from powering off my mobile without entering a pass-code to do it, the idea is to prevent the thief from powering off my mobile, If my Xperia Z is stolen and the thief shut the phone down, I wouldn't be able to locate it anymore.
So, is it possible to disable the possibility to shut down the phone when a pass-code lock is set up?
If I set up a pass-code lock I expect that it will not let anybody (thieves for example) turn it off unless the correct code is entered. Basically if the phone gets turned off, it cant be tracked anymore so chances of getting it back are close to 0.
I know that there are software's out there for Iphones and it works like PowerGuard or Cylay etc....
Well.. I dont think there's a way to disable the volup + powerbutton shutdown and "battery pull", but it is possible with xposed modules like gravitybox and "advanced power menu" to disable the power off / reboot entries in the power menu while on lockscreen. That way, any thief would have to know the volup + powerbutton thing, to shut off the phone.

Well, thank you buddy, I installed it "advanced power menu" and it works perfectly on my Xperia Z. I know, you are right it will not prevent a hight end tech thief from shutting it down but by 60% you will have a chance to do something to get back your phone, especially that a big majority of thieves are not that so high end tech to do hardware reboot/shutdown.

[Q] Stuck in extreme power saving mode

I switched on extreme power saving mode because I only had 6 percent battery life left and didn't have access to an outlet. Now that I do have it charging, it wont let me disable it. When I click exit it just says Please Wait (been like that for about 20 minutes). Any idea how to fix this?
I am completely stock and unrooted
I've tried shutting down and restarting

Only way i can think of is to reboot to bootloader and factory reset. Plug it in your computer to see if you can save your pics and stuff. If you went to a sprint store that is what they would do.
To get into bootloader power off device hold volume down and the power button. Click hboot then factory reset. That should do it.

I went into the power settings through system settings and the extreme mode was grayed out as well. I can't do anything to get it working.
Any other ideas? HTC had no idea what I was talking about and told me to take it back to Sprint.

This thread saved my life! I hope this gets to HTC and this bug is fixed! It apparently has something to do with the extreme power saving mode replaceing your home screen, and not being able to find and set the defult home screen back be it blink feed, or google now launcher ect.
Get the lastest software update to permanently fix this problem
I also ran into this problem, and was able to fix it permanently by updating the HTC software with the latest Sprint update. I got there by getting into the general setting by back-spacing while in the phone setting (it won't work for other settings). Now when in EPSM window the exit button works as intended (albeit a bit slowly)

I turn the extreme power safe mode on every night when I go to bed, and disable it the next morning. I had been doing it without a problem for 2 months and this morning had this problem as well. And the funny thing is, BlinkFeed is not my home screen. Reboot, nothing. Forced reboot, nothing. Anyways, toggling the extreme power safe mode on and then off did the trick for me as well.

yes and dont know what to because my screen is a little bit broken and they will charged me new screen for power button
The only way to go would be to change the motherboard, sorry, I always install some apps to reduce the use of the power button since day one, I use gravity screen to awake the screen, and invisible widgets to turn it off, and shortcutter to make a tile to call the power menu, so, I only use the power button to ACTUALLY power the device ON

Here it was, I thought I was being conservative by using fingerprint unlock to save a few presses on my power button.
I wonder if the OP has a saved alarm set to go off at a specific time. I then forgot that the alarm clock doesn't work when the phone is off.

^^^That is taking it too far now. I assume you use wireless charging to save your USB port, and SSH to access your phone remotely, to save your phone from screen burn-in?
Edit: then there is bluetooth speakers / headphones to save the built in speaker.

Question Stuck in power saving mode on my Op10pro 2213? Help!

Hello guys! Merry Christmas to everyone!
Please, any ideas how to get unstuck from power saving mode?
I have the 10 pro, 2213, OxygenOs 13 and I was short on battery when I decided to activate the power saving mode.
Now, my phone wont get out from this powersaving mode even though it is charged , plugged in the ac adapter or after rebooting and shutting it down.
On my notification panel, I only have a few power toggles that cannot go in the settings menu if long pressed.
There is no notification message to disable power saving mode. I'm fully charged and still the power saving mode is on.
Knock on is not working and multitask button isn't as well. Home button sometimes work and sometimes does not. I really wish to get out of this powersaving mode as I had my phone looking up only for 3G network to maximize battery plus the other annoyances mentioned....
I recorded a video to show this behaviour.
Any Ideas? thank you all!

Hi I noticed you just swiped down don't know if you're aware you can swipe down further and the settings icon should appear. Try that I don't own a Oneplus 10 Pro well I haven't received it yet should arrive tomorrow but I keep seeing problems with this phone I'm considering on returning it. But I think you can swipe down further at least that's what I can do on Oneplus 7T Pro. Hopefully this may help you.

Press and hold the power button.
Tap and hold the "Power off" option.
Normally a new popup menu should appear on your screen that asks you to “Reboot to safe mode”. Answer “OK” at this point and let your phone reboot in Safe Mode.

Once your device has been powered off, long press the power button to turn it back on and wait till you see the device manufacturer or the Android logo.
Once you see the logo, press and hold the volume down button until your device reboots.
Release the power button once your device has rebooted and you will now be entered into the safe mode.

What happened:
Saturday 24th I activated the power saving mode when I was 5%. The phone died and later when I turned it on, it was on SUPER POWER SAVING MODE without being on the "Super power saving launcher". Instead, somehow it was on my NOVA LAUNCHER while being on super power saving mode, as shown on the video...... So I was not able to disable it or access any configuration. My phone was on Do not disturb, good night mode, 3G network locked...
I tried booting to safe mode, but instead I got to a Recovery screen written in chinese ( isn't this phone supposed to be global or European? model 2213) a few times.
This bug was seriously weird and should be investigated by oneplus. Such thing cannot happen!
