Try wiping, wiping dalvik, wiping ext partition, and if that doesn't work then u might have to repartition ur SD card. I believe ur having an a2sd issue.

Put a rom that u know works onto ur SD card and flash it. Make sure its a basic rom to make sure it works. Either darchdroid, fresh, damage, or the other stock .6 stock rom. Hopefully that will fix it. If not try a different nandroid. Hopefully u copied ur SD card before repartioning it and u have more than one nandroid. Also convert ext 2 partition to ext 3

Yes, first I ran the FR removel, had this problem with the first rom I installed, refalshed recovery, wiped all, installed a second rom ( both of these roms worked on my phone previously) , still no settings, I'm going to RUU and start over...Thanks Duce.

You should not need to RUU just to install a rom. I would say start over again. Flash recovery, wipe data/cache/dalvik/boot/system, flash ROM, flash gapps.

I know, all the crazy chit happens to my phone,, asop's roms won't boot, I had sensible gingerbread working, then the update came out and It booted etc. fine except I could'nt make calls, could recieve ok... LoL.. I'll ruu and see if the settings work there, if not I'll take it to sprint, still have some warranty left.. Thanks for replying Duce..
Well before you do try this.
Back up all you data. Then format your sd threw your pc. Then format it threw your recovery. Then reflash your current recovery. Then setup your partitions if you had any. Then replace all of your data back on your sd. Then do a full wipe as in data,cache,dev-cache and sd-ext. Then flash a fresh rom of your choice. If that works you can just restore your nand. Hope this helps.

[Q] CWM internal SD card, cant restore

HI guys!
I want to flash cm7 to my new p990 but for some reason the SD card I used in my old phone wont mount. "Alright no problem, ill just use the INTERNAL sd card." Probably not the best idea.
Phone is rooted, installed rom manager and flashed CWM 5.0.2.0.
I tried to back up my stock image to the SD card but CWM wont mount the SD card, and I cant choose internal. I managed to do a nandroid back in CWM, but I had to choose where to put it in ROM MANAGER. All went well. Flashed CM to the phone. Now im on CM and got a hold of ROM MANAGER again and I want to flash the stock rom back.
The thing is, this time rom manager doesn't recognize my internal SD card either, and neither will CWM. Any way to flash the new CWM 5.0.2.3 through CWM?
CWM 5.0.2.3 supposedly fixes my issue but I have a feeling i cant do it that way.
Any help would be appreciated

You don't need anything fancy to install 5.0.2.3 (which I suppose you meant to write.) Just download the latest here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098745 and choose which version you want to install, external or internal, which in your case seems to be internal.
That should put you right where you want to restore the backup from your internal card.
EDIT: Oh, and remember to turn the phone completely off instead of just rebooting, to get your sdcard mounted again (could be that's all you need to do.)
EDIT2: I've never used ROM Manager to backup, but if it gives you the opportunity to put backups somewhere else than the root of the card (your post seems to imply this), use a file manager to move the backup to the root of the card before rebooting into CWM.
Thats what I want to do. But I need a way of installing it. CWM cant flash over itself, cant it? And I cant get rom manager to do it either.
EDIT: LOL, im a RETARD!!
All the files I need to flash it through ADB are all there in the download...
Thx again man!!

You don't have access to a computer? You need a computer to install another version of CWM. (Well, there are other ways, but it's much easier from a PC.)
Again, thank you so much!

5.0.2.0 is compatible with 5.0.2.3 right?
After restoring it wont boot. Restoring again now.
Satser på det går bra
EDIT: sd-ext.img not found. Skipping restore of /sd-ext.
Does it matter?

You may have to convert your partitions back to ext3 before restoring with this CWM-installable script http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=720818&d=1316120010. (CWM 5.0.2.3 should in theory do it for you, but I've never gotten it to work.). Mount your sdcard from within CWM, copy it from PC to card, then install it.
No, the sd-ext message does not matter.
Does this format my entire phone with backups and all or does it just convert it?
Did my filesystem go over to ext4 when i installed CM7?

It formats the /system, /data and /cache partitions, but doesn't touch your sd-cards, so your backup is safe.
Yes, the latest versions of CM7 use ext4 for /system

It depends on what I'm doing. Right now I'm on MCR GR3. I frequently flash back to stock 2.2.2 to check if the app I'm currently making works as expected, and sometimes I flash CM7 to test some specific features there.
If you're asking what I'd recommend I'd say go with MCR GR3 when the prebake comes out, or Topogigi 1.8 which will be based on said prebake.
Hmmm. okay, thanks
I kinda like the stock rom but I would like the overclocking and possibly undervolting that aditional roms have. The battery time I had on cm7 was SICK. I fear I wont get that on the stock rom. Im having a try at topogigi v1.7, but I having some problems. Like, can I use ur baseband switcher app to change the baseband I have, and is it necessary? tried flashing it without flashing new baseband (cuz I dont know how ) and then it just bootlooped.
Ill check out MCR GR3

Slight misunderstanding here, it's not a baseband-switcher, for that you need to go through the whole smartflash-dance again. It allows you to install a different ril, that's all.

Topogigi 1.7 works fine without a new baseband, but not all phones can boot with the undervolt of the default kernel. (He has an optional kernel with stock voltages available which probably will fix the bootloop for you.)
Ill check out MCR GR3

The prebaked version isn't ready yet, but will likely be very soon. I expect Topogigi to release 1.8 not long after that.
have same issue. thanks for ideas.

well when i unmount my sd card it says sd card removed but when plug it back in it does not say anything!! is there a setting on xrecovery that i should do before going back to stock rom?
Hmmm well as far as my knowledge is concern no. Nwei why you still use xrecovery? Flashing latest rom with xrecovery will surely gives you an error use clockwordmod recovery instead. Maybe thats what causes your problem, Im not certain.

[Q] Fix random reboots/shutdowns with CM9 stable

Running CM9 stable I am having some problems. Random reboots/shutdowns forcing me to take out the battery and put it back on in order to start the phone again. Why are this problem happening? I am not using another kernel, I am using the kernel that is included with CM9 with no addons whatsoever. How can I fix this and most important how can I prevent this happening?! It's very annoying...

I assume you had done a full wipe before flashing and also after flashing the ROM, If that is the case, just save all your internal SD card contents to PC and also backup your contacts etc to a cloud storage or Ext SD card and Format Internal S card and see how it functions on a clean slate.
Ok I will try that and report back

But I wonder, if I do a wipe before flashing CM9 (as you would normally do) everything will be erased and then you flash CM9. But if I wipe again AFTER I flashed CM9 wouldn't I repeat the whole process again?

Cool.
Step #1 nandroid backup onto ext sd.
(Check every box)
Step #2 download a copy of whatever rom you gonna flash onto your ext sd.
Step # 3 now for your wipes.
Under advanced youll see
These choices..
System/data/dalvik/cache/internal.
And ext sd..
DO NOT WIPE EXT SD..[emoji16]
So normally you can wipe just...
System/data/dalvik/and cache.
But for a clean flash include the internal.
And all this x3.
Then factory data reset x3..
Note: anything on the internal sd card will be gone.. and cannot be retrieved.
Note:#2 its a good idea to download one other copy of a compatible rom onto your ext sd. Not the same rom.. or check the md5 sum to make sure the rom you downloaded matches the linked sum so theres no problems...
And that my friend is good coverage and the steps for a CLEAN FLASH..
