Ive been noticing that my battery life has gone up ever since ive upgraded to frf72. Also it seems like juice defender isnt defending much juice for me. i get 12-16hrs on avg through out my week so far since the update. Tomorrow i will go outside to see how well the battery does on the road. Has anyone else noticed that improvement?

i applied the ryanza lagfix and my phone now has a quadrant score of 2291 but my battery is dying really fast and my phone is very hot. im not doing anything different. any ideas on how to fix this?
did you apply superrooter?
no i just had it rooted before
I used the ext4 version of the fix, and am not running into this problem... for what it's worth.
FWIW.. I just did a fresh install of JH3 and used SRE 1.2.1 and used Tat's ext4 fix.. Charged to 100% (was on charge ~8 hours) and 8 hours later I'm at approx 60% battery.. Haven't talked on it at all just been listening to Pandora and IMing with Trillian... and even the IMing was sparse..
Not sure but this seems to be using more battery than normal..
My battery is suffering a little, but I think it is just a bug with the IO. I've been running this fix for a few days, installed from the market and yesterday the battery did pretty good. Today I unplugged at 8 am worked all day and did not use the phone at all, at 5 pm I was at 72%. From what I have read on smart phones they are battery killers. Instead of constant worry over battery usage I found a $10 package on E-Bay that includes 2 generic batteries for Samsung Captivates and a charger. I will just carry a few spares just in case. I'd rather sacrifice battery life to get rid of the lag. This is my second Cap and my first had improved battery after 2 weeks of use and "break in", I've had this phone for 1 1/2 weeks so it may improve in the next few days.
The battery wasn't great to start so I don't think it is the Lag fix at all.
No issues with sre. Battery is working good, no led app was killing my battery bad, uninstalled that and all is well

I did notice some issues. There wasn't as much real world performance increase tradeoff as I would have liked, so I uninstalled it.

Instant messaging (if you stay logged on) and especially streaming Pandora will be a pretty large drain on your battery.
Anybody notice any changes as far as battery life. I just wanna know because im currently using a 1800 mAh battery (lost original battery) from ebay and they don't longer then stock. If you see any major changes i might just buy an OEM battery.
I did notice an increase in battery life when I upgraded to 2.3.5. I am a heavy user of my phone on a daily basis and it last about 5-6 hours longer from my experience.
Switching to V20p showed a very noticeable increase in battery life for myself.

The battery life has improved so much, I'm not getting the extended battery. Maybe a couple of regular batteries as the improvement easily takes my phone all day. Before update, it would only last 4-5 hours with usage.
I have to agree battery life has increased by quite a bit. My wife was getting severely pissed off at this phone because of battery life and other Froyo glitches and since updating she has yet to have any issues and stopped complaining about battery drain. Ahh the relief of not having to hear about how she hates the phone and wants it replaced Now lol. Hopefully we get to see ICS eventually, not that I am counting on it anytime in the near future and most likely not at all but still it's a nice thought lol.
better definitely. Not as good as the Rogers Samsung Galaxy S Captivate battery life though. Can't believe how much that one improved with the gingerbread update.
Had anyone else been seeing strange issues on the Rogers gingerbread update Ruth the battery stats? This morning after an hour off the charger battery was at 88% when viewing the battery usage it showed 15s on battery and that the only thing using it was the display and the percent was 165% I have a screen cap to upload later to show it.

Same here. My P925 have same problem. The stock ROM and ThiaiZO3D, which I am using, are same. It always show me less than 20s even after 24h.
My battery life is not nearly as good after updating to kitkat, and my phone seems to run a lot warmer than before. Anyone else have this issue?
Have not noticed any change... but, it only came out yesterday. Not sure 1 day is enough to go on...

Normally the day after an OTA is a period of high drain. Give it a few more days and it should normalize.

Full charge to full drain at least twice. usually helps after an OTA in my experience.
For such a huge problem.. I didnt notice this issue posted anywhere prior to purchasing a used version of this device.. Is there currently a fix for this? Im getting close to an hour or so in battery life daily.
Thanks!
The battery life is getting worse every single day, I am getting less and less battery life as the days goes by. I can't return this phone neither will someone buy a phone this bad.
If someone else noticed that their phones battery life has gotten worse, pls let me know (any tips would be great too)
Thanks.
I absolutely have noticed this.
Me too
Me three.
I was using my phone on OOS12 until the nagging messages were too annoying to ignore, so I let it do it's thing to 13.
This was a couple of weeks ago. Since then, I've noticed SIGNIFICANT battery drain, I used to be able to go all day with light use and have more battery left over by bedtime. Lately I need to top it off to last the day or else it will be dead by dinner time.
I was going to just blame the OOS13 update but are you guys saying this is recent and across the board? Did something happen, maybe a OP app is running in the background after an OTA?
It's expected that the battery will degrade with time. You can download a recognized battery app, which will show your remaining capacity.

Yes I know, but this phone is barely a year old and the difference was very sudden from one day to the next.
