My phone was acting crazy today so I rebooted the phone and now it is stuck on the htc boot screen . I am running Fresh Toast v2.1 and haven't made any changes for over a month . I try go into recovery by holding the home key but it does nothing , just hangs . I tried to see if fresh kitchen would see the phone but it doesn't . Any help would be greatly appreciated . I have noticed that the phone will restart after hanging for about 5 mins but of course it still hangs .
I cant get into recovery , however, the only screen that comes up is the screen with 3 droids on skateboards and it says
clearstorage

Do you have a nandroid backup ? If so , try restore . I cant even get into my recovery . If dont work maybe try Turn it off and try to hold the power and home key. IF you get stuck again, hard reboot again (battery), load up, THEN turn it off again. This time, turn it on with the (-) volume button held down.
Have you tried taking the battery out for 30 seconds and putting it back in?

Click on the link above that Dave provided and download that . Put it on your sd card and flash it . This will take you back to stock but you get to start the fun stuff all over again . Last case scenario . It could be worse , I mean , at least you have options . As of now , I have no way of communicating with my phone and no access to recovery . I might be screwed .

i went to usb toggle and put the ruu on the root of the sd card then i went to flash zip from sdcard and it says no zip found. what do i do?
It's a Rom Utility Update. Just download the RUU, install it, then run it. Follow the directions within the RUU. You will have to plug your phone to the PC and let the RUU do its thing. When it's completed, your phone should have a factory stocked ROM.

well i pluged it in thought the usb during boot and in the recovery usb toggle and when i run the ruu i get a error 170 usb connection error
Try turning the phone off completely, then run the RUU again.
Isn't there another way to boot? I remember something about using the down volume button, the back arrow and booting... that's probably not the actual keys, but I know it was different from home and power. Anybody?

Hello all,
can someone please help me?
i have done the guide of rooting here "How To Root The Sprint CDMA Hero" including backing up and save the nandroid file to pc.
i want to run the Fresh Rom and started to follow this thread from android forums.
androidforums.com/all-things-root-sprint-hero/38911-guide-root-rom-faq-tutorial.html
i ran the diagnostics fresh pre-kitchen 0.2 and got an error. all checked mark except java and sendkeys which i received a ? mark.
any help on why i get this?
thanks
Have you tried just flashing the rom? I spoke with someone who ran the diagnostic test and had question marks but he was still able to flash a rom. If you turn your phone off and hold the home button + the power button, you should get a black screen with green writing. If so, you are fine.
yes i do get that green screen.
so what should i do now? like how do i use the Fresh Rom
thanks
*edit..
not in the wiki clearly..
Pull the battery out... While holding your home key, Press power... Continue to hold home... Phone boots into recovery...
Scroll down to wipe... Wipe factory data, dalvik cache, wipe ext... Press back on phone..
Scroll to mount usb... And mount the sd to the computer..
On your computer... Navigate to where you downloaded the rom... Drag and Drop the entire folder onto the sd card...
Press home on your phone to get out of usb mode,
Scroll to flash zip from sd.. and select the rom zip..
It installs.. then reboot the phone..
Download the rom of your choice. Move the .zip onto the root (meaning dont put in any folders) of your SD Card. Turn phone off, hold home key + power button, select flash from sd, select the rom, hit the home key. Wait til it is finished and then reboot.
ok so i am downloading fresh 2.0b now.
no need to extract the file correct or should i extract it first before putting it on the sd card.

Nope it install from the zip.
Now that you are looking into roms be very very very careful.
You can only install roms for the CDMA. There are roms for gsm phones and people screw up and brick their phone that way.
If you stay in this forum then you should be OK unless some asshole comes around.

Have you tried booting into recovery? Power+volume down...
Did you try to boot without the SD card? It helped me once.
Assuming you are running a custom recovery image, go to it via the bootloader menu (Turn phone on while holding volume down, then navigate to recovery using the volume buttons and selecting recovery using the power button). You should then be able to flash the same ROM you currently have installed. If however this is a completely stock device then you could run PASSIMG.zip via the bootloader to save your current install. If you need more info just ask

If you can flash a rom use 2.1.1 not 2.1. Assume you are doing that thru fastboot from pc.
Also, try the 3 finger reboot to get to recovery.
Hold down pwr/vol-/trackball at sametime until phone boots into bootloader, then navigate to recovery option. Then wipe all and restore a good bu. If this happened while dl'ing apps, one may be bad. Get all of them off phone and do one at a time.

Ok, understand now.
You may have some options thru fastboot and the pc. Do you have SDK installed on pc. I am not good at that, someone else may have suggestions along those lines. Unless, as I asked, you already have used that method to flash amon ra 2.1.
If you can thru fastbboot with SDK I would still flash amon 2.1.1

I am out of ideas, sorry
Someone will get you going
Sounds like you are using SDK, it may be the way to wipe and get back to an original phone state, then reupgrade. I don't know sdk very well.
Did you try the other idea of trying to get to recovery with sd card out of phone. If you do that you may want to back it up while out of phone if you have a sd card reader
Good Luck and wait for more help

Just restore a stock image.
Follow the wiki guide for unroot/restore. Use the passimg method, with the FRG33 zip, which can be found by following the link on the word "here" on step 2...

HELP!!! I tried to install a ROM and all my data were gone and my SD card files look pretty messed up so I decided to wipe the system and return to Stock later.
After wiping the system, I realize the OTG storage cant be mounted and the HORROR begins. My phone got no OS to boot.
I tried to flash stock boot image and recovery and tried installing the official RRU. It failed. Now I can't even boot to fastboot or recovery.
It is stuck at HTC Quietly Brilliant splash screen.
I know some of the steps I did were pretty silly.
I need this phone tomorrow.
Pleaase HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!! :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:
when you press power+volume down (without releasing the keys) for a few seconds (could be 20-30, doesn't matter), what happends?
first of all you data from you sd wasnt gone it just gets moved to support 4.2.2 multiuser.
what you should do is use all in one toolkit to run the fastboot commands for you. then i would sideload arhd 10 to your phone.
im running it now and its absolutely perfect

Can you boot into recovery mate, go into bootloader and reflash custom recovery if you cannot. Get into recovery and adb sideload either Android Revolution HD 9.4 or 10.0, the rom should begin to install once its transferred over, It takes a while so let it do its job to transfer, also make sure you have up to date adb drivers and files, otherwise adb sideload wont work.

im used to working with samsung phones not htc and im stuck in quicksand with this one.
Did you make a backup in recovery? I tried to flash a ROM once and it got stuck on the HTC screen but I somehow managed to hold the power button for a while and reboot back into recovery to restore to my previous ROM.
Question about situation
Normally in this situation you could hold Vol Down+Power until the unit shuts off then let go of Power and continue holding volume down. This should drop you back off in HBoot/Fastboot from here you could get back to the recovery screen and most recoveries now allow for ADB access to repush or flash another install.
If you are able to get into Recovery what are you currently running?

Have you tried pressing power while holding the vol up button then when the screen goes black pressing and holding the volume down button to get into the bootloader? If you can get into the bootload (and I suspect you probably can if the phone still gets to the white HTC screen) you can flash a recovery and then flash a rom.

How exactly did you try to install marshmallow? Try forcing a reboot by holding the power and volume-up buttons simultaneously for 15 seconds. I want to see if you can boot properly.
I got a notice on the top of my phone saying update Available . So I downloaded it 795mb and once it finished downloading , I hit install and it did begin to install. Until less the half way the red ! Came up. I also did a factory reset and still did the same thing
OK let me try rebooting now

So I held the volume up button and power button for 15 seconds. It just restarted the phone.

Have you unlocked the boot loader? Or something.
Have you tried it again, maybe the download was corrupted.
And if for some reason it doesn't want to update there is the RUU, but it will require a PC. Be adviced, The RUU will delete everything on the phone and you will have to download all apps again, I'd recommend to move personal files over to the SD card.

I've tried it 5 times. Neither works.
How do you unlock the boot loader?
Do I have to be rooted? Which I'm not
What's the RUU?

You don't have to have the boot loader unlocked, or be rooted. I was just asking if you had done it.
The RUUs are here: http://www.htc.com/us/support/rom-downloads.html
The one for the 626s metro is this one: http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-desire-626s-metro-pcs/news/
