I tried installing marshmallow but it won't work.
It downloads then I get an image of a phone with triangle and ! mark.
I'm not rooted. I tried following other threads advice but I'm not too phone savy lol. Any advice would help.

How exactly did you try to install marshmallow? Try forcing a reboot by holding the power and volume-up buttons simultaneously for 15 seconds. I want to see if you can boot properly.
I got a notice on the top of my phone saying update Available . So I downloaded it 795mb and once it finished downloading , I hit install and it did begin to install. Until less the half way the red ! Came up. I also did a factory reset and still did the same thing
OK let me try rebooting now

So I held the volume up button and power button for 15 seconds. It just restarted the phone.

Have you unlocked the boot loader? Or something.
Have you tried it again, maybe the download was corrupted.
And if for some reason it doesn't want to update there is the RUU, but it will require a PC. Be adviced, The RUU will delete everything on the phone and you will have to download all apps again, I'd recommend to move personal files over to the SD card.

How do you unlock the boot loader?
Do I have to be rooted? Which I'm not

You don't have to have the boot loader unlocked, or be rooted. I was just asking if you had done it.

My phone was acting crazy today so I rebooted the phone and now it is stuck on the htc boot screen . I am running Fresh Toast v2.1 and haven't made any changes for over a month . I try go into recovery by holding the home key but it does nothing , just hangs . I tried to see if fresh kitchen would see the phone but it doesn't . Any help would be greatly appreciated . I have noticed that the phone will restart after hanging for about 5 mins but of course it still hangs .
I cant get into recovery , however, the only screen that comes up is the screen with 3 droids on skateboards and it says

Do you have a nandroid backup ? If so , try restore . I cant even get into my recovery . If dont work maybe try Turn it off and try to hold the power and home key. IF you get stuck again, hard reboot again (battery), load up, THEN turn it off again. This time, turn it on with the (-) volume button held down.
Have you tried taking the battery out for 30 seconds and putting it back in?

It's a Rom Utility Update. Just download the RUU, install it, then run it. Follow the directions within the RUU. You will have to plug your phone to the PC and let the RUU do its thing. When it's completed, your phone should have a factory stocked ROM.

Isn't there another way to boot? I remember something about using the down volume button, the back arrow and booting... that's probably not the actual keys, but I know it was different from home and power. Anybody?
For some reason when I install a custom splash screen in Redemption it doesnt stick.
The way I have done it is put the PB31IMG.zip on the SD card. Boot into hboot and install the file from SD card. Ive wiped the Dalvik Cache. Then I hit reboot phone. It acts like its going to reboot, flashes the factory boot screen, then goes back to hboot. I then install the zip file again and nothing.

When you say, "Installed from sdcard", what do you mean? You weren't in recovery, right, but rather HBOOT? There should be a question like "Do you want to install update? Vol+ Yes / Vol- No" and after installing it should ask if you want to reboot. You can't flash a splash screen from recovery.
P.S. This is the wrong forum for this question.

In hboot there is an option to install a .zip from SD card. Thats what I used.
So the location of the .zip was wrong? It never asked me if I wanted to install update unless your referring to the update option in hboot.

HBOOT does NOT have that option. That is recovery. HBOOT has a white background to the screen, not black. To get into HBOOT, power the phone completely off (Yank the battery if you have to). Hold down Vol-down while pressing power. When you get to the white screen, wait for the red bar on the right side of the screen to load up and it will ask if you want to install update. Follow the instructions on screen and reboot when prompted.

When the phone first came out I tried to root it but being the non-whiz kid I am when it comes to rooting any device it didn't work I got bootloader and CWM on but that was about it,
The Android 4.2.2 update came out today for three and every time I have tried to download and install it boots me into CWM and it says that the instillation is aborted, then when the phones boots back up it says that the file is corrupted so it asks me to download it again and it just turns into a vicious circle. Is there any way round this or am i forever stuck on android 4.1.2
Thank you in advance

In order to have a phone properly update via OTA it has to be completely stock including the stock bootloader. You'll need to flash that back to get OTA.

I have an HTC once M8 HK edition. Running the philz version of cwm. I tried to install a wifi hotspot enabling zip file and this caused my device to be unable to access the sprint LTE network at all. since the .zip was flashed, the factory data reset through cwm wont fix the problem. I tried reinstalling the rom but now cannot get past the HTC dev only startup screen. Fastboot/ recovery options are however still accessible. I think the problem could be easily solved by flashing a backup via sdcard. However, I do not have a working backup for cwm. If someone has a solution or a backup I could use that would put me back to cwm stock that would be awesome!
Hold power+volume up. When the screen goes black release power+volume up and hold the volume down button until the bootloader menu appears. Load a ROM onto your SD card, then boot into recovery from the bootloader menu. Reflash your ROM.

oh sorry for the misunderstanding. I'm also having an issue because since i updated my computer to windows 8.1 my htc drivers are no longer working to allow usb debugging. So far I'm having to operate purely from an sdcard. Is it possible to flash a twrp or a stock rom from an sd card and if so could you walk me through it? Download correct recovery.img from Teamwin then find the correct android.txt and zip the two in a folder which you will name 0P6BIMG put on root of external sdcard and boot to bootloader, itll recognize the zip folder and ask you to update, press vol up to update it, reboot phone, remove zip from external sdcard and then boot to recovery

I would be kinda leary of using roms from another site...not because they might be bad but because you will most likely get better support here on XDA if something goes wrong.

First off are you s-off? If you're s-on I know what your problem is.
Secondly the recovery of your choice is fine. It's highly unlikely that that is the cause of the issue.

I managed to get a version of 4.4.4 installed via sdcard but it is not a good version. it still has a lot of quirks. namely
it stays on the "htc powered by android" screen until it fully boots and you unlock it (which is rather difficult as it is on the wrong screen) and then the screen times out (it does not allow you to manually shut off the screen with the power button until first timeout). After the timeout everything is normal from what I can see barring that the wifi will not turn. Also I believe I am s-off.

Hello,
I tried for a few days to upgrade my huawei to build B586 but I haven't been succesful. I unlocked my boot and tryied to upgrade trough brick method(but switching the img files to the b586 ones with huawei extractor). I have no option to update from local and the vol+,- and power buttons do not work. I get stuck at boot screen.
My curent build is B574. Do you have any sugestions how I can upgrade? or downgrade than upgrade? The update to 6.0 was done via update from local option, which i don;t have anymore.
Thank you in advance.
It works with me in similar situation, not sure if it work with you!
Downgrade B574> B300
and then...
Upgrade B300> B586 or B588
Hmmm... I had a similar problem. Coming from the RRevolution Custom Rom, when i tried flashing stock again i couldn't. The Power+Vol.Buttons method would give me bootloop. Even though the phone was booting, i followed the unbricking guide, flashing boot, recovery, system and cust (search it up, it's in the forums). After flashing everything and rebooting my phone, it went straight into the upgrade method (the one you get with the Power+Vol) and installed B586 just fine. No problems since and i am now using the B588, so it might work just the same with that one too. Hope this helps

Did you tried put B300 on the dload folder and then press 3 buttons?
From what I understood, you can't use the 3 button method, right? The phone will just boot... Try pressing all three and when you see the boot logo just release the power button and keep holding the other two. I've seen people getting over such problems by doing this. It probably sounds stupid but i would give it a shot... Also, try putting the upgrade.app file both on internal and external sd!
