Hi you guys, i remember how accurate my N's gps was when i used CM 5.07... Now, i have tested the 3 leaked versions of froyo and my gps is innacurate... it has evolved from Very slow and very innacurate in the FRF50, to slow and innacurate on the 72 to a bit (but still) innacurate in the 83...
Since 72, im facing some "your current location is temporarily unavailable" and "no weather location is available" issues...
What do you guys recommend me to do?
Should i go back to the 4.04 radio? i have a 850 umts N1

Hey guys,
I was just wondering if any one is currently, or has in the past, had connection issues with their g1. I believe I read there was an issue when RC29 came out, but I'm not totally sure. Anyways, here is my problem. I am running a rooted and unlocked g1 with dwangs 1.6 on it. I have AT&T so I only have edge as well. I've noticed that I started getting a lot of "Network Connection Errors" a few days ago. I'm pretty sure it started before I rooted, but it seems to be worse now. I upgraded to 2.1, and then downgraded again in the past two or three days. My downloads from the Market are constantly stopping and being unbelievably slow (yes, I know EDGE is slow, but they are significantly slower than normal). When trying to search the market, and/or use apps that access the network I'm constantly having to click retry to gain a good network connection. Hopefully you guys have some insight. Thanks!
nope... not really, not on any of my 7-8 G1's, all broken for diff reasons (never signal issues). but im on T-Mo
I'm not sure if this is the same as the well known "Nexus One 3G problem". I'm running CyanogenMod 6. I have been having occasional trouble on my home carrier (WIND Mobile Canada) where every once in a while, even though the 3G or H icon appears, I can't access anything and when I try the ping test under Testing/Phone information it fails.
The only way I'm able to get the Internet back is to disable mobile data (via widget) and re-enable. Then it lasts again for a while.
I'm currently on vacation in the US and using a T-Mobile SIM. It seems this problem is even worse on their network. Sometimes I only get maybe 2-5 minutes of a 3G connection before it freezes out like this. I've been leaving it on EDGE just to keep it stable, but this is obviously not an ideal solution.
About two weeks ago I started trying nightly builds of CM6 as I was interested in the FM Radio, and I have noticed this issue much more since then. It might be related, but it could also be a coincidence, and I don't want to start messing around with multiple ROM flashes while on vacation if that's not the problem in the first place. Any ideas on what to do?
Thanks
Charles
its a bug with 2.2.1,my nexus does this too. it will get stuck with the data up arrow lit up when the data stops working, turning data off and back on fixes it. there is even a post in the google bug tracker about it. I know for sure it happens in both FRG83 and FRF91,but I'm not sure exactly when it started. 2.1 roms for the N1 don't do it,and my g1 doesnt on 1.0-2.1,but on froyo roms it does exactly the same thing as the nexus.
I hope someone (google or a dev) can fix this, because its really annoying. my g1 is back to donut because its faster, and I'm considering going back to a 2.1 rom on the N1. I've confirmed the issue on ChromaticDream (g1),CM Nightlies (I've tried 198,200,201,202,203,220),CM6.0.0,Enomther's TheOfficialNexus (10/11/10),and a few others.
I thought I was the only one who noticed this bug. Does it occur in the stock (non-rooted) versions of 2.2.1 as well?
Just an update, although I do periodically experience this on my home provider (WIND Mobile Canada), it turns out that T-Mobile is having 3G issues in Portland this exact week and everyone's experiencing it. So the fact that 3G is nearly unusable on my trip is TMo's fault and not Android's.
UPDATE: I downgraded my radio to the official froyo radio (4.0-something lol) and my timeout problems are no more so far....
I have the same problem but with since I'm using nightlies 215 the problem is gone (i'm using 508 radio)
but lately I'm using nightlies 221 and 223 and the problem is back
I settled on 204 for vacation because I didn't want to fiddle with the ROM 10 hours away from my desktop comp! Now that I'm home, keep this thread updated with which builds seem to have a stable 3G connection.
I just flashed 225 with 512 radio and I can say this build is stable, no more intermittent connection lost. 225 nightlies is fast as well
Good to know. I'm on the 5.08 radio; is there a significant difference with 5.12?
Hello,
Last night I found available through KIES the firmware update to Froyo, I got JPA from TMN Portugal.
Phone had some problems with my google account, so I did a Factory Reset, everything seemed right after that, phone was real fast, no lag, I finally got rid of that stupid voodoo color fix wich made screen look to darn saturated....
When I tried GPS, it didn't work at all, couldn't get a lock on anything, I left it trying to stablish a connection for several minutes and nothing happened, usually, it wouldn't take more than 30 secs to get my position even with WiFi off.
Phone is working perfectly, only problem now is GPS, can't get it to work. before upgrading to JPA, I had JM8 from TMN Portugal too... and I had great GPS performance.
I have been thinking about flashing to JPO, but I'm really not sure if this will fix GPS.
Anyone here could help out?
Thanks.
GPS never locks, i was on KK1 baseband, then changed to kk6, then KL1, and now im on UGkk7, and still the same....
Im with franco kernel 14.4 and AOKP 21... dont know whre is the issue...
I will try UGKL1 radio...im in Mexico.
EDIT: Now im on UGKL1 and the GPS never locks : (
Try GPS Test, then settings, update A-GPS. This will load the current and future locations of GPS satellites to speed up GPS fix.
You will also be able to see if it is listening to any GPS satellites.
Hi there,
I have been having an annoying issue with my Nexus One. The issue is, that I am forced to reboot the device a few times each day, because it loses signal, and cannot re-register to a cell network.
I first experienced the problem on Cyanogenmod 6.0.0 stable. I have since experienced the issue on CM 6.0.1, 6.1.0, 6.1.1, CM7 RC1. The issue got so bad that I went back to stock Froyo 2.2 and lastly, am now on stock gingerbread. I am still getting the issue so it is not an issue with cyanogen.
Also, i've noticed that the issue will mainly rear it's ugly head when i'm in the office, where reception is quite scarce (usually 1 bar of reception or below.) However, when i go outside or to a full reception area, it still can't register to a network.
I have the latest radio, too. Does anyone have a suggestions?
Regards,
rnodern

Hello everyone,
I'm running stock 5.01 and r19 Franco Kernel. I recently noticed that my phone's GPS never locks on to a signal. I install GPS Status and it is never able to lock on a GPS Signal. It just says that is it "Looking for a GPS Signal". I'm not sure what I can do to fix this. I re-flashed the stock radio (5.0.1) as well as the 5.1 radios to see if that might fix it but it was to no avail. Can anyone help me out with my situation?
Same Issue
Bump for having similar issue...
Ever since upgrading to 5.1 regardless of ROM (stock rooted D, E, H, M, I; CleanRom and now running MeanPop with LeanKernel, both lastest versions) the GPS won't lock, nothing at all, sometimes it will lock but not track, example, I open Google Maps, I may be driving when suddenly it will lock in my position but it won't follow me when I begin to move. I also installed GPS Status (remember how it used to fix all GPS issues back on CM7 and gingerbread) but no dice.
Short of actually replacing my phone, I tried everything except going full 5.1 stock (no root, encrypted and locked). Any ideas??

Not that it will help you but I'm completely stock, not rooted, with a T-Mobile purchased N6 running 5.1. GPS is really bad for me since the upgrade. I was trying to use Google Maps to find the best route home (NJ) from lower Manhattan. Traffic was accurate but my location was bouncing all over the place making it unusable for routing.
