Froyo system images are here:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/androidhtc/files/
To install, rename the system-froyo-timestamp.tgz file to androidinstall.tgz and
put it in /andboot on your sdcard.
This needs a recent 320x240 froyo kernel.
The git repository for this build is here:
http://androidhtc.git.sourceforge.net/git/gitweb-index.cgi
You can see the latest changes by looking at the individual git change logs.
The git repo for most of the device setup is here:
http://androidhtc.git.sourceforge.net/git/gitweb.cgi?p=androidhtc/device-vogue.git;a=summary
You can compile it yourself by doing:
Code:
repo init -u git://androidhtc.git.sourceforge.net/gitroot/androidhtc/manifest -b froyo
repo sync
. build/envsetup.sh
lunch eu_vogue-userdebug (use "lunch full_vogue-userdebug" for all languages or "lunch us_vogue-userdebug" for only english and spanish)
make (use make -j 6 if you have 4 cores)
read http://source.android.com/source/download.html for instructions on setting up repo and git.
It needs to download over 2G of data and will take a few hours to compile.
I July 2010 I gave a talk about porting android, my slides are available here:
http://it029000.massey.ac.nz/vogue/android_talk.pdf
With a demo of Froyo here:

nice work Dzo, Here is an update for google apps and market if anyone wants it.

I've been having a look at Froyo and have built a very basic install image.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/androidhtc/files/2010-06-25/androidinstall-froyo.tgz/download
All I did was compile the latest aosp master branch and add the ril. Audio compiles (after a few changes) but doesn't work yet. HW3D works and the network probably works too. Calls and sms should probably work but it's not really ready for use yet. This is a very minimal image without any google apps just to show that it works.
You will need the 320x240 eclair kernel from today to test this because it does some new things with the 2D graphics driver.

Whoa!!!! You're starting it again!
You are great man!
Does this really work?
Hi Dzo, tried froyo on my kaiser, it can boot into Android. While taking a call, the display become white and after that, my sim card broken. Poor me ! Wating for your fix. (At that time, try to contact network carrier to get back my sim).
Very fast, very grateful
first boot, it's freeze with black screen
so i remove new zimage 25.06 and start again with old zimage 22.06
noticeable change compare to Myn’s Warm Eclair - [RLS1 - 06/17/2010]
- very fast boot
- has problem with sdcard, says: no sdcard found
- camera not working, ooooooh
- app start first normal like Myn’s Warm Eclair
- but reopen apps start immediately
eg. phone app, first start 5 sec, second start 1 sec, another small apps start less then 1 sec
- small fonts are clearly recognizable
orbit2 xda (pola200)
haret + zimage 22.06
Myn’s Warm Eclair - [RLS1 - 06/17/2010]
Wow... I'm interested on how this goes. This will be a fresh start for my Vogue.
Just a minute ago I was wondering if Froyo will be here. Great news =)
Tried this build too, nothing except calls is working, but no black or white screens and hangs (pola100 actually, but I think that's ok for this thread, isn't it?), it runs definitely fast. If this is just a start, then the result in releases is very promising. Thanks dzo and all the devs who take part in here.
dzo's the man.
Can't wait to give this a try.
Thanks again.
anyway it can eventually in 240x320
I don't wanna sound like a douche but I'm just way to excited...when can we expect a usable rom for everyday use? Eta?

Go to android.com and watch the Froyo 2.2 video. It looks like Eclair with a new launcher.
And dzo thank you again. I can't wait for audio to work on this and maybe camera. I'll donate $20 if you can make audio and camera work. Anybody else?
hey so just a few graphical things that i noticed, the dialer skin is a little off-placed, and wow this thing is fast. i cant wait for it to be fully working with audio! =) thanks dzo
Was hoping to give this a peek., but it looks like sourceforge is down right now. *sigh*
That's amazing. I'm using an Incredible now but still follow the Vogue since I used it for 26mo. I miss the Vogue community and devs.

It booted first time for me, only took 5 minutes install and everything. SD card wasn't recognized for me either. I'm sure when that's working a lot of other problems will go away. I couldn't load any apps to test performance because no Astro and no data, but I'm sure I could install Astro with adb or a androidupdate.tar no? Anyway good work dzo!

Here is a link to the flan gallery apk file for you all. Looks great but for some reason runs super slow on the g1 but if someone can optimize we could get it to work.
http://droidmuff.in/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/gallery_flan.apk
did you install this as a system app? or just install via appmanager or the likes?
Just to clarify, this is for 2.01+ right?
i pushed it to system/app thru adb and im running 2.01
Installed through ADB and runs slow on my G1 as well.
not working for me on 1.6 but it seems some people got it working on 1.6 with different roms ..
what rom are you running turboyo?
I wonder what roms they were using.
http://www.androidauthority.com/ind...ry-application-now-available-for-android-2-0/
That's the ealiest version i've seen it has been released for. Anyone know of a 1.6 release? A backport for this would be great.
the reason its so slow for the g1 is because it doesnt support all the 3d acceleration like the nexus and newer android devices do so it will always be slow, your lucky it ran at all, which is why the 2.0 update for the g1 is taking so long because they have to remove most of the 3d from it so it can work with the hardware.
i tried it both on cm latest and on the super d rom
I installed it on my friends Droid, it wasn't rooted. Just stock 2.1 or 2.0.1 whatever. It works well, semmed maybe a little slow, but probably normal.
But he had 2 gallery apps, but it works well on the Droid.
This App must load every picture on sd as a thumbnail.
Let him create. I wait over half an hour, than my hero gets all pictures as a thumbnail.
Then its really fast. Try it out! If the thumbnails overview is smooth and fast, then your Android has catched all thumbnails.
whenever i leave it to load all the images my phone goes to standby and when i come back it just starts from the beginning again

anybody get this to work on super D's 1.6 rom?
just curious
Seems to NOT work on Eclair_2.1-v1.5...
5 seconds of black screen and then slow, slow, slow, slow... waiting and waiting and waiting....
although the titles of my picture folders tilt and skew in neat ways as I tilt my MT3G!

uuuhhhhmmm... So clarify this for me... You're having to wait 30 minutes for all your thumbnails to load EVERY time you use this? Or was it only like that the first time you opened it?
why do people keep referring to android 2.1 as flan??? its éclair or is this a twig from the flan branch?
Wasn't it already established that it's slow on the G1 because the g1 doesn't have the graphic acceleration/3d Rendering like 2nd gen Android phones?
Like when the first GBC rom came out and it only ran between 0-12 FPS and then we gained hardware acceleration er sumethin'

Alright, I've been meaning to do this a while;
Jamezelle asked me to port his Sense Hero build over to the new installation method a while back but I've been really caught up with my personal build. Now that I'm at a level I'm comfortable with I had some time to do this for James.
Bear in mind this is a cupcake based build, so alot of the new work we've done to tweak android won't work here. But it was good then and it's just as good now
Please don't use the 'orange' launcher on setup. I just realized now after uploading 100MB that I put in a donut launcher that won't work in cupcake. so just use rosie.
I've tweaked it a little, including userinit on boot etc.
It is nandable. Boot up is slow because it isn't odexed however once up and running it runs as good as.. well as good as it did before.. lol

also you dont need to format your card for donut and above. so if you had started out with donut or eclair and didnt format your card thats probably why. cause i had to format my sdcard when i was using cupcake but then i had got a new sdcard and immediately switched to donut but never formatted my sdcard and it worked. just throwing out some possibilities

I love the Hero, thanks so much! I think it's running even faster than the tatoo, but since it's cupcake, all the wifi updates I have for donut and eclair don't work for the cupcake (I tried and with no luck), it would be perfect for daily use if the wifi is working, anyway, appreciate for your work!
Thanks for all the info guys. I love the senseui in this SenseHero build…but I honestly miss Myn's Warm Donut. It is the most fast and reliable build I have tried for the vogue. Even with the Market working in the SenseHero build, it lags to much to me. I will really miss using the mail, sms, album, and calendar widgets that are in this build. Does any one know if I could just take the apk's of the widgets out of the data/apps to insert into the ported Hero theme in Myn's Warm Dount?

Looking forward to see it running from phone memory instead of memory card!!!
Hi,
I hope, it's the same Version I'm trying actually, so here's my feedback:
TOPA100, Gingerbread Release GBX0A dated 12/02, no overclocking
1st impression: running very fast and very stable, no problems with basic functions
problems after detailed check:
1) GSM/3G signal reception is weak in comparison to FRX04 (cannot receive a 3G sig at a place where I usually have one under FRX04 or WiMo)
2) GPS not working
positive things to mention:
1) faster than FRX04
2) wakeup is working stable
3) switching on/off WiFi (have to activate it in WiMo first, of course) works stable even after 12-14 hours
4) Camera not working, but the app doesn't crash in photo mode
5) with a for me "normal" kind of usage (longer standby periods, checking SMS/MMS around every hour, receiving email every 30 minutes, some WiFi action, testing some apps, one or two calls) I have a battery duration time of somewhere between 18 and 24 hours
Conclusion for the devs: why not switching over to Gingerbread?
Cheers
Zap
Good system
Zaphod_b_1 +1
I have the same comments.
I installed FLash 10.1 . It doesn't crash the browser like in froyo. but nothing displays.
The sensor doesn't work so most games and the landscape mode won't work.

Double checked and updated kernel and rootfs, sdcard mounts but settings show free space and total as unavailable and various apps say there's no sdcard whereas some find it without a problem.

I'm pretty sure the problem is that we're running it off the SD card, so it recognizes that as the phone and then can't find another source, as there isn't one.

Update 16/04/11
New build Up folks
changelog:
rebuilt kernel with upto 1.4ghz overclock ability, (thanks to pershoot and others on xda for the base code)
still has sleep bug, i am getting the updated kernel edits fixing this from ni soon
get setcpu 2.1.1a from xda devs then choose the SET SPEEDs device option (scroll all the way down the device list and its the bottom option)
performance on this build is absolutely insane - 3000+ quadrants 50+ in linpack.

Update 12/04/11
New build based directly off of up to date (as of today) cm7 Final Source
changes:
HDMI Partially working (sound seems to not transfer over)
New kernel build finally worked, cifs, tun, usb mounting built in
camera pics are not in crappy colors any more but the preview is rotated 90 degrees for some reason
performance seems better but that could be placebo.

same here, great work!
Thanks, giving it a try now
Wow,
Installing as we speak.
I will get back on this...
Well it's running fine for now Great work
MArket is broken, but as you stated it's a beta, maybe you could team up with other adam developers (josh ) to make this one beast of a CM7
Greetz,
couldn't get it to work properly..
First bootloop, then when it booted everything FC'ed..
After another reboot and wipe I could't get past the touch android to begin screen..
Very strange..
I got it booted...
Can't get the market to work though. A good start but needs work before it'd be a daily driver for me. I'll probably go back to vegan soon.
this is sweet, going to try this tomorrow =)
hi thx for your input in our life with Adam
It booted for me after wiping data and cash
First it seemed to be bit glichy and slow with response...
the design with Honey comb like bar is very nice
but WiFi could not connect to my router and i try and try and try and try
and reboot and try
and change permissions on router and try
and no go for me
as for included aps Terminal emulation FC. on me

Looking forward for next version
Now back on Beast

Just installed to take a look. Nice to see cm7 on the Adam. Got wifi going unlike others, but most applications would fc.
Thanks for starting this project.

Thanks a lot DJ_Steve.
Installed it on my PQi Wifi Adam and here are updates so far. ( Wiped data )
1. Firefox FC but installing it from SD card again and its working fine now
2. Market FC. Tried the Market trick ( clearing data on service, fc market and reboot) but didn't work
3. Installed Titanium backup from SD card apk. Works fine
4. Used Ti Backup to restore some apps like thumb keyboard and they work fine
5. Installed Dolphin Browser HD but it starts in portrait mode and I cannot click accept button.
6. I got a prompt on first boot to install some apps like facebook, gmail etc but they all failed with a FC on market.
So far the ROM runs really fast and working great. I need dig the PQi toggle app and install. I like the HC look and the smoothness of the ROM.
Kudos .. and Thanks ..
Will post after more testing.
Have you talk with mad-murdock about the changes you made to make it work? It would be best to get this included with the official builds.
That said, god job on this. Similar issues to arvi007 so far. Firefox and Market FC. Terminal Emulator causes a reboot. Red LED on the side of the Adam is on all of the time.
I'll keep playing and see what else I can come up with.
Crud, not long after I said this I rebooted and it died. Had to NVFlash to get it back.
Not seen most of those issues here. But their is bugs. Ill see if I cant build from source at a point soon

Yeah, getting quite a few Force Closes.
Fruit Ninja THD for example closes due to Webkit problems, you said you removed the stock browser, so these probably go hand in hand.
Dolphin HD also crashes for an unknown reason.

Great start, will definitely be following this, would be great to get a stable CM7 build on the Adam
Mostly Working
I have a PQ+Wifi adam and i got CM7 working using this build but when I did a shut down power off and try to power on again the device never boots. I have to debrick it. Otherwise besides the browser/Camera issues and a FC in gmail when opening a message with an attachment it was a great start towards a fully functional CM build
Edit:
Fixed the reboot problem by not using Clockwork Recovery. I wonder if this is related to the issue CW /CM has on the G2 were when you power it off it goes to recovery instead of completely turning off.
I somehow got the market working. However, Firefox does not work.
Being CM7 is there CIFS and TUN support? I really need something to let me access windows shares from my corporate network over VPN.
I should have tried it before I went back to Beast and got all comfy
Looking forward to using this, but will wait till the bugs get worked out. Enjoying Beast at the moment.

[A] Well, now, why don't you take a gander at this: CyanogenMod: CM 9+, N1 (and other S1 SoC)
[Q] Gee, Pons, this here looks fun. How do I compile it myself?
[A] Here ya go, lil guy. Just follow these instructions: How to Compile CM10.1 for the Inc (if you encounter any issues using this to compile, please report here so I can troubleshoot and update if need be)
[Q] Why did you disappear?
[A] Long story short, my computer broke right before I went on a business trip. Now I'm stuck on a side of mountain, but only have a 256kbps internet, which has a lot of filters on it (I actually can't download from Goo.im; I have to ssh into my profile to download.)
[Q] Well, that doesn't sound pleasant. Are you back for good?
[A] Maybe, maybe not. Some good people are allowing me to use their build box, so that's how I'm maintaining right now. I'll keep it up, till I get moved again, or they decide to revoke my access.
[Q] Oh. That's cool. Onto what really matters: how often are you going to update?
[A] Will shoot for weekly, or bi-weekly (if major changes come out). The internet is painfully slow, and I don't want to abuse the build bot access I was given. Or until I move or get revoked access.
Credits/Thanks
All credit goes to Cyanogen and the rest of the CM team, and especially our HTC Incredible maintainers, as listed by the CyanogenMod site: jistone (aka CUViper/This Guy), slayher, and of course, koush. Of course, don't forget about the Evervolv team, who have given our outdated qsd8k device a lot of love, despite being dropped by CM.
In addition, tiny4579 for his incredikernel, and for helping with my builds while I'm away.
For some reason, I have received several requests to put a donation link in my profile. You can always donate to the CyanogenMod project or the Evervolv project, but if you feel you HAVE to donate to me, I've put a link in my profile, and all donations will go towards upgrading my computer, so I can stay on top of this for CM10.2/11/and beyond.
Footnote: This thread is a WIP. I will probably restructure it and try to make it look pretty, and I might add a Q&A thread, depending on how many inane and repetitive questions I get that take away from development. I also didn't include any Launcher screen shots, since that is the easiest thing to change and theme. And I see that people have already tried the ROM, since I have 4 downloads so far, and 1 was me. Thoughts/problems?
Reserved....
Particularly let me know if there are any crippling bugs (or bugs period) that differ from what is listed as the known issues, and from tiny's.
Also, any issues with the embedded Superuser? It has had minimal testing, despite being put together by a ninja coder, Koush, and that is one reason it has not made it into CM10.1 Nightlys.
Great to have you back Pons. I'm having zero issues the new su. It seems to boot a little faster.

It should boot a tiny bit faster, as well as su access being better/quicker. It's now an integrated part of Settings, as opposed to a separate app.
Bear in mind that Superuser is still a work in progess. Superuser and binary itself have 0 issues (that I can tell) as far as granting, prompting, denying, etc, but the app needs a little UX work. For instance, go into Settings > Superuser. Click the little icon at the very bottom, this opens up the log. Click the icon in the bottom left, and this does nothing. Koush is aware of these issues, and will correct them when he gets around to it. I'm more interested in if it (or Settings) FC, or if something is not getting root.

there seems to be some UX inconsistency in the app. When i click on the log button it brings me into the log, which is fine. However, the button immediately becomes redundant in that said screen. It has no function whatsoever.
Also, i thought there should be a back function tied to the icon so that i can return to the main screen... no?

Is there a way someone could work on the offline voice to text ? Is this going to replace tinys cm10.1 ROM ? Nice work!
Completely wiped phone, EMMC, SD. Took the opportunity to install TWRP, and had a blast playing around with it (used your .zip from that thread). Installed this ROM and Tiny's 2/7/13 GAPPS.
I'm not sure what issues will pop up from the flash-over crowd, but clean install was a flawless process. You guys keep giving me reasons to carry this phone. Well played, by everyone involved.

If you make enough room in the system partition and copy the correct libraries into the gapps zip before flashing offline dictation should work. It does on Tiny's, at least.
Out of curiosity, is there about significant difference between this and Tiny's? Pretty much just superuser?

I plan on getting to that in about a week or so, time depending.

As far as the end user is concerned? There's that and the status bar battery mod, one of my favorite tweaks since my CM7 days. I don't know exactly what tiny throws in his, but I put in a couple of security hardening picks that most/all users won't notice or feel.

Probably not. Tiny and I generally work together to make CM10.1 better for the Inc. I opened this thread because I can compile and tweak stuff when tiny's busy, but I can't really test it myself. I don't have data, wifi, or gps on my phone where I'm at, and it takes me 3-5 hours to download each ROM. So I opened this to get a wider range of testers.
Good to have you back. Did you get faster internet?

Nope, hence my 3-5 hour download of a 114 mb ROM.

It works if you put the files into place, just like on Tiny's ROM. I modified Tiny's gapps, removed some stuff I didn't want and added in the offline files. I still have to delete some stuff from the ROM to make room for the offline files, so my gapss aren't share-worthy. But it works for me.

No issues here. I did wipe /system (due to the way I install gapps with offlinevoice to text files) and cache (for good measure) before installing, but I didn't wipe any data.

Any way to verify if fastcharge, does in fact, work?

Never really used it. From what I remember, though, it's a kernel tweak that chad put in. Tiny forked his tree, so unless tiny reverted the commit (which I doubt), it should still be in there (internet is way too slow for me to go digging around randomly). As for how to verify it's working, I completely forget. I'm vaguely sure a way does exist beyond watching it charge quickly, but can't remember.

Fastcharge is definitely an option in the kernel that ships with the ROM. It's off by default but the free incredicontrol can enable it. The only thing it does is enable the full charge speed for USB connections which is risky if it comes from a PC as the PC USB ports are only designed for 500mah of current. I've done it safely and i actually have fastcharge USB on by default on my inc but I still have to throw out the warning to be careful.
As far as verifying there are a few ways:
1. Check the value of /sys/kernel/fast_charge/fast_charge_usb. It's 1 for on and 0 for off.
2. Monitor mA current on USB charging and if it's over 500 mA then fast charge USB is working.
3. Check the kernel log in terminal ater plugging the phone into a USB connection, it should report switch charger (Fast) at the bottom.
su
dmesg | grep "Switch charger"
I am a big fan of fastcharge. Although battery health could be a factor, I am suspicious that both fastcharge and DSP manager have gone the way of budweiser served in Utah. My power supply used to get scorching hot and I could get a green light from empty in about 2 hours on the 3500 battery. Now I use the stock battery and it takes at least about 3 hours or longer to get it charged. DSP Manager still works, is much more subtle. I have had to resort to using a second eq app alongside DSP Manager to get levels right.

Work is ramping up, and so is school. No time to actually do more than minor tinkering, so thread is more or less redundant of tiny's. On that note, closed. I'll still try to push out weekly builds (tiny said I could post in his thread whenever I had a build), but no promises.
