Aldiko doesnt import my epubs - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've placed them on sdcard/eBooks/import as the program says, but when i click to import them it says that nothing is found
So basicly i cant import them
Anyone else with that?
Are there other ways to import them or other readers good as Aldiko?

Strange, it has always worked for me. Takes it's sweet time, but it does do it. double check to make sure the directory is the correct case?

i made "import" with all small caps like in the instructions right?

Offline Wikopedia?

Is there a Way to make a Offline Wikipedia?
I didnt found just online Wikis but no offline?
Put the Wiki on the SD and open with a App?
Hope someone can help me!
I would imagine that it would take quite a lot of space to put the entire wiki database on an SD card. Hundreds of gigs.
ther eis an app for winmo
that does that....
it has 2 versions, one you buy with no updates
and the other one you buy and have unlimited updates...
the website has a mailing list to be notified when it will eb avail for android...
however i dont remember either the name or the website .... i did sign up for the newsletter though...
There's a handful for ipods and a few hacks for other devices. Basically you need two thing: the static HTML files and an HTML viewer.
There's some static DLs here, I can't grab these at work though. anyone want to test chucking one on their SD and seeing if Astro or Linda will open them in a browser?
If the HTML files are available, or if someone can grab the ipod files, I'm sure there's some dev on here smart enough to get a reader working.
EDIT: looks like XML files might be the best way to go. Just need an app to parse it.

create a .csv file with the barcode?

I'm looking for a program that will allow me to scan objects (books particularly) with the barcode scanner so that i can produce a csv file, that i can export to certain sites (goodreads, specifically.) The csv file would (in my circumstances) need the isbn, author/title.
Does anyone know of something that would work for this?
I am not sure there is something already available that does this, but it wouldn't be exceptionally difficult to throw something like this together. Just hit the barcode scanner, do a quick internet search (I am pretty sure that there's at least one books search api out there), then spit the results to csv file.
sorry about being completely ignorant about this, and thank you for the response.
But how would those 3 things connect together?
I do have the barcode scanner
apparently google has a booksearch api.
But as far as combining those into something that would make a csv file.
i'm lost.
Is this something a person like myself who doesn't have computer skills can put together or no?
my barcode scanner doesn't let me scan qr codes, anyone know why this happens?
bump.... just in case somebody wants to take this project into their code making hands.

Whats the best pdf reading app?

Hi,
Downloaded a few ebooks onto my Hero, was looking for a pdf viewer to read them. The adobe app doesnt cut it... no bookmarks, or pagejump? i wonder why they left those key features out...
Anyway, im after an app that will show me my pdf's in colour, and in text view (as in adobe reader app). But also have the ability to bookmark pages, so i know where i have read upto, and can come back to key highlighted points.
What are your suggestions? I have tried beamreader also, but cant find an option to create my own bookmarks so im guessing it does not have this feature
Any help is appreciated
Thanks

Have you looked at Aldiko app, I think it uses .epub but u could always convert using calibre on your computer
The stock Adobe Reader

How to find which imports classes are defined in

LayoutInflater inflater, ViewGroup container
I am trying to google these classes so I know what imports to add to my list.
But it is a hit and miss affair - sometimes I find suitable examples showing the correct import files, often I don't.
It is probably going to be import XXX.XXX.LayoutInflater, but I have little idea what the XXX.XXX.part of it is going to be.
Is there a website where all this is adequately documented and quick and simple to determine?

Click to collapse
If you are using Android Studio, If when you declare an element, say LayouInflater layout, it gives you an error, double click and select "LayoutInflater" word and it should show you the missing import. This should happen as well when trying to compile with this kind of errors.

importing/using external js library? does this make sense?

hi
I am not very good at these things but,
I want to try to import libsignal javascript library into tasker, and use it. I wonder if this sounds possible? I want to use it to send signal messages from tasker.
and if so, I would really love recommendations about how to do it in practice, local or not.
i found one place where someone imported a library just by adding a cdn link(like this
https://imgur.com/2fvywIm
) , so I found this and wonder if its enough, https://www.jsdelivr.com/package/npm/libsignal
Thanks for any help!
