I had a question for my fellow theme makers , i. wanna make my own thene but i dont know how.
Can anyone tell me how to make a theme for the hero and after thats done how to make it to a update.zip

rosie folder contains only the arc images.
and if u want to change color of the top bar and other buttons then u will have to edit other folders as well.
hey i have all the graphic material, so now im making it into a update.zip file, but do u have to use the update.zip from the tutorial ? or the modaco 2/8 ?

Nevermind guys i just signed the update.zip, im now making a backup of my hero
when thats done im gonna test it

F*ck i did it i made a update.zip, and i must say its easy
But i was so stupid that i used the red theme from ratcom,
now the top bar is red as you can see and nut brushed metal
So what u think guys? do you like the brushed metal?

bro exactly what did u change/modify in the theme? i cant see any changes.

i changed almost everything but the only thing i can see is the brushed metal unlock bar, the navbar on the homescreen.
And most of the changes didnt appear :S

may be ratcom can say why the changes arent appearing on the phone.
there must be something wrong with the update.zip file.... did you sign everything?
If you like you could send me your work and I'll have a look for you ...... upload it using http://www.4shared.com/ its easy because you can use your gmail account to login

Your work looks good to me ......... I'll pack it back up into a flashable update if you dont mind then you can see how it should look at the end of the process.

I cant get my bootanimation.zip to work... it just shows a black screen....
can someone figure out whats wrong with it? D;
I downloaded a bootanimation that did work and just replaced all the png files and modified the desc.txt file slightly
i am using JT's latest kernal

Can't help on the first...but the boot sound is system> etc> poweron.wav in file system if I remember correctly. Had mine deleted too long to remember exactly what it is called. Think it is limited to 7 seconds

what are you editing the file with? if you are editing the file with notepad then it will not work.
I use notepad to make my desc.txt and it works fine...
I can't tell why this wouldn't be working... looks like everything is set up correctly.

Some quick splashes I made, you have to have ENG S-OFF to put it into your phone. Get phone into bootloader fastboot, and run commands: (googlesplash.img has to be in the same folder as fastboot.exe)
Code:
fastboot flash splash1 splashname.img
fastboot reboot

I cant seem to flash .bmp 'pictures'??? i can flash .img fine but .bmp give me a FAILED error...

2 custom splash screens
**real quality of splash is better than in pictures below because the original .bmp was too large (as in KB's) to upload!!!!**
I think everybody is familiar with this, but still: just extract the .zip file, open CustomRUU.exe (vista & win7 run as administrator), follow steps and you're done!

sorry guys, no more splash screens. I got my Evo 3D a few weeks ago, and it's an awesome phone. I will miss the HD2 though... Only problem is that it's hardware is getting a bit outdated

HD2 hardware outdated? with 1.27 GHz? Sorry but i think the HD2 with Android runs very fast. So a lot of people do this, because there will be no second HD2 .

sorry for my misunderstanding, do I have to flash back to winmo on my hd 2 to load these screens or is it possible to flash them with android build in nand

It wont work for me, i tried to flash this via CWM but it says "instalaltion aborted" i did rename it as well, any ideas?

It's not flashable. You need to push it to system/media or data/local.

have a HD2,wil try again now and report back.
Check where old boot is, and put it there.

I've tried both system/media and data/local rebooted and it doesn't work,i moved the zip from my SD card via root explorer, do i have to extract the zip or leave it as it is (i didn't extract it)
Did you find the rom bootanimation.zip in any of them? Did you rename it to bootanimation.zip?
Do you get a blank screen or the rom boot? If the old, your rom is customized and boot should go in resources it something like that. Hit the rom dev thread, you will find right location there.
If you got a blank screen, you probably didn't rename it or renamed wrong.

yeah when i moved it the bootanimation zip is there alright and i did rename it immediately after downloading it, when i reboot i just get the current boot animation i have on my phone.
