I've tried asking this on Modaco due to there being no i900 forums here but Modaco's a waste of bleedin' time!
Someone's just chucked their old Omnia i900 my way and I was going to have a play with different ROMs on it.
However, the screen's got a fault - two black lines across it

Do you guys think it's a faulty LCD or a screen connection problem?
Thanks
Woo! No replies here either
I don't have one of this phones...but, if you want help...why don't you provide us with as much information as possible.....shuch as:
Did this happened after or before flashing?
Was the phone in good working consitions before flashing?
Did you even flashed that phone?
Is it new or used?
if flashed, have you tried flashing back to stock?
It's an old phone that been given to me. It's never been flashed and I've tried a full reset. Thanks for any help.
By the looks on it...it looks like a foulty screen

Your quote "Modaco's a waste of bleedin' time!"
But yet your still going to get your roms from there.
modaco, xda, ppc geeks, omnia hub, and countless others are all GREAT sites. So sorry the seas didn't part at the snap of your finger.
good day.
It's a bad case of some dead pixels. Nothing you can do about it.
had this on one of my omnias, faulty screen, they're easy enough to get new ones from ebay iirc.

I have searched this site and others for an extra large dial pad for my 8525 and always come up with "larger than stock" buttons, but nothing dramatic. I have also seen multiple requests for what I am looking for and I cannot find anything similar.
When I search for dialpad large, big dial pad etc I usually come across something like this:
{

I use it and am happy with it. I really like the BIG buttons, and after some research, that was my best option... Well, there aren't that many after all!
Which version do you use ?
Thanks

Exactly...not that many options. I wonder why no one has come up with a large keypad. When you are driving the last thing you need to do is concentrate on hitting some litttle square. Just because the pad is BIG doesn't mean any coolness factor is missing. All functinality could still be there, just not taking so much realestate.

basicly what you see there is whats underneath the 5 buttons on the bottom on the HD2. Atached to that should be whats underneath the rest of the HD2 (a large curcit board so to speak) FUBAR in my opinion.
IM RIGHT THERE WITH YOU BRO!!!
So sorry so sorry.

I have suffered same thing before. I had to buy hd2 for parts just to replace!
It's very easy to try and remove mainboard without lifting latch for terminal. I had already taken mine apart three times before I forgot about it on fourth try and I heard a "pop"...I **** my pants, cried and got to looking to buy one for replacement parts.
I am currently looking to buy hd2's so let me know if you want to part with it.

Rule #1. Don't ever give your phone to a pissed off person... exhibit A attached.
Instead of replacing it with a new Captivate I went with the HTC Aria.. maybe not the best choice, but I think it will do the trick. I like the size, and GPS actually works out of the box. I plan on frequenting the XDA Aria section.
I'll prob try to sell my busted up Captivate on eBay, for anyone that might have bricked their own phone. Other than the screen the phone seems to work without issue.

Edit for helpful-ish answer: Hope you were paying for the insurance =/ I don't know where you'd go about getting replacement glass, and standard manufacturer's warranty won't cover physical abuse like that

Probably some of the higher ups got a deal out of it, some free phones early access to new firmware etc. Just keep it to themselves and hope we forget by spieling us some line. Simple human nature.
I do love conspiracy theories....
