I recently got my Nexus one replaced using Warranty.
As soon as I got it, i updated the phone from ERE27 to FRF50 (unrooted, and bootloader still intact).
So now I'm hearing about new versions being out there (FRF72, FRF83).
Whats the likelihood of me getting these OTA updates.
I am guessing that the FRF50 was a "test build" for testers to get a handle on new bugs and for developers to get their apps migrated from 2.1 to 2.2 before the actual 2.2 OTA rollout.
Whats the skinny on this guys? Am I going to wait forever for the OTA or should I bite the bullet and just flash the builds via download.
Thanks.

I flashed back to RC29 and then upgraded to 30, and finally 33. I am now sitting on RC33 and when I check for updates it says none are available.
When I try to run "Radio_Dream_RC33_1_22_14_11.zip" as update.zip, also "G1OrigBootloader_nocheck.zip" they both give an error about being unsigned.
I am wondering if these two images not being flashed is causing me not to receive OTA? or is there something else wrong?
I want to get back to stock 1.6 TmoUSA
How did you upgrade to RC33? If you used anything from this forum - then it's not going to work as those are all unofficial roms and have update disabled in them.
Your best bet is to flash DREAIMG.nbh and check for update. That will get you to stock Donut.
Good luck.
Yes, I used DREAIMG.
Does it take a few days to pick up the OTA update though?
I recieved a notice for the 1.6 update last night.
I am all good now.
For the record, if anyone googles this thread, OTA updates go after a certain amount of time. Just because it says "no updates" in the check for updates field, just wait a few days and it will give you a notice.
My Nexus One is not rooted and it still cannot find the 2.1 Update 1 OTA. I have tried all my resources. Need help.
There have been a few reports of this the past week. Almost as if Google wasn't sending out the update 1 anymore.
I think you just replied to me by private message. Best to reply here so everyone can see.
He said he "called HTC and they didn't know what was wrong, that it should work"
I'd say try giving Google N1 support a call and seeing what they say then. Or search for the other threads about this and see what happened to the other people.
If your build is ERD79, just update it manually.

Seriously.
My 2-day old Nexus One is not receiving the OTA update either! I guess Google has suspended the 2.1-update1 for now in anticipation of Froyo 2.2 which shall be pushed out very soon? I have the Build ERD79 by the way.

Doubt it, 2.2 will be an update from ERE27, so you'll need to update to get it.
Just read this: http://androidforums.com/nexus-one/41504-how-force-2-2-2010-ota-update.html
I also am not seeing the 2.1-update 1 on my phone.

Glad to know we're not alone on this issue, I tried the "checkin" workaround but failed, it hasn't found any updates and I'm still at ERD79.
I put up a page on my Google Nexus One Owners Group that has instructions to manually update from out of the box 2.1 all the way to FRF83.
You can do this all without unlocking our boot loader or rooting (so keeping your warranty).

Note: This is only for T-Mobile Nexus Ones.
Has anyone else received this update?
Not here.
Los Angeles, CA
lol figures once i get root an update starts rolling out, it probably enables wifi n like they released for the EVO today.
1.22.605.2 is the software version i have (rooted)
It adds 3G Mobile hotspot and fixes the signal issue, im in a pickle now though lol. cant remove superuser
Not exactly a pickle - just don't do the upgrade, wait for someone else to take the OTA download and make it root-safe.
where did you confirm this info as to what the update offers?
I guess i am confused, what would happen if we did the update with our rooted phones?
Nothing. Because with rooted phones you won't see the OTA Update...but if you were to manually upgrade without it being root proofed....you'd loose root.
Wait - weren't we already at 1.22.605.2? That's what rev I'm running, and I haven't taken an OTA since the first few days after launch.

Incredible OTA Update 1.65.605.2
I'm confused to, so if you are rooted, you won't see this update? or you will see it and if you do it, you lose root? I have the stock rom, which is what I thought disabled your OTA's is this an incorrect thinking?

The name of this post is Incredible OTA Update 1.65.605.2 so even though we are at 1.22.605.2 that is not 1.65.605.2
Thats the thing, i was rooted and did get the OTA update notifications, hit accept for the update by mistake. And the only reason why i confirmed that info is because i have it on my inc.
P.S sorry lol made a type in the title of the post, its 1.35.605.2
So if you updated as root, did you lose your Root? It is not guaranteed that you would loose it, just likely is all. I feel like they released it to break our Root, and nothing more... but maybe they fixed a few issues too... we have the same screen grounding issue the EVO had, and the recent update fixed theirs... but who knows...
EDIT: Posted an article to an outdated update. Oops...
so i assume you lost root?
Yes i did.
I haven't seen it yet. <-- OHIO
have you tried redoing root? did you loose recovery?
I havent tried redoing the root process again, but how is that going to work? isn't the root process based off of the original software? the baseband is different as well.
Haven't seen it yet either <-- Rhode Island
Didn't find any information on it either. Was their a "more info" link included with yours? as with other OTA updates. Changelog, etc.?
Better question would be, do you have a screen shot of your About Phone page (baseband, software version, etc.)
somebody who gets the update needs to upload the file so a dev can do something with it.
Hi guys today I received official froyo 2.2 OTA but it fail to update
I am use modaco R20 any people have same problem
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
yes I have the same problems.... I'm waiting for r21 of Modaco....
did you get an exclamation mark in a triangle and android standing next to it? This is what I got as well. Not sure what happened, had to restart the phone and it is back to 2.1, it was originally in ER27.
I just restarted the phone and did a *#*#CHECKIN#*#* to force the download again and download, now its FRF91
Same here running stock 2.1!! The checkin command just gave me success but no reinitialisation of the update
Me too. It's probably because we're using a custom recovery image
to my understanding, we wont be able to update if you are using a mod... Now my issue is how do i get it to stop spamming my notification bar after i clear it. Anybody know how to disable system update notifications?
r21 is out. go get it.
I just got the update msg and i am afraid to update because if i do i may lose the Root and ect ha?!
I'm pretty sure you don't have the OneUI 2.5 update. Maybe the OneUI 2.1 but definitely not the 2.5 one. Even the S10/Note10 don't have it yet and we're after them. Also if you're rooted you shouldn't receive OTA updates at all. Can you attach a screenshot so it's clearer what you got?
This is what i got. May be it is or some security + software update
That was last months update.
The August update is ETH1
Ohh!!! Ok i thought it's the new one ??* if i update this i will lost root and may be boot loop?
I still think that if you're rooted you shouldn't have received this though. You sure you're rooted? Check with this app please just in case: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.joeykrim.rootcheck
Yes. Rooted and using all rooted apps in here
