16GB Sandisk cards seem to go for ~£21 on ebay. They're class two but I don't use swap or apps on ext, so I don't mind. Are these cards generally friendly with Magics?
Sandisk are a VERY good brand for SD cards. Be careful of memory cards on ebay though. Most of them are fake. I normally buy from reputable places like newegg.com or local stores.

x2 And also, IMHO, class 2 devices are a lot flakier than class 4/6. I've never had a 4/6 fail, but I have had class 2 micro SDs fail. Might just be me, but I would rather have the better classification at the sacrifice of more $ or less GB
Thanks guys/gals, think I'll get one then. I spoke to a guy with a Desire who said he'd never had a problem with Sandisk.

Meritline is an awesome site. I order tons of stuff from there (especially their 3 packs of HDMI cables, usually with coupon for 6.99)
But there shipping is quite slow unless you live close to California. or can wait for things to arrive from the Far East. (Hong Kong, Singapore, China)
The other thing is their customer service is top notch!
For just a couple more dollars you can get one from Newegg if you are in a hurry...
I got a class 2, 8 GB card at my local electronics store for $17. Don't waste money/effort getting your hands on a class six because the Hero won't read it at it's native speed.

That is false, and frankly I'm damned sick of hearing that BS repeated over and over. The "class 2" thing comes entirely second-hand from some user who apparently got a note from a random low-level customer service rep saying something to that effect. Well it's not true.

The Hero is fully capable of exceeding the read and write capacities of a Class 2 card. My Hero maxes out at about 2.5 - 3 MB/s writing to the included Class 2 card, but easily reaches 6-8 MB/s using my aftermarket Class 6 card.
Definitely, definitely, definitely get a Class 6 card, whatever size you buy. It's absolutely worth it.
Anyway, NewEgg will ship you an 8GB Class 6 card from the US for $22.95. I'd recommend that instead.
Great find! Thanks!

Assuming you mean the Transcend card, I got it at amazon at roughly the same price after shipping...and I'll +1 that recommendation.

Even if that wer the case (which is not), then you try and buy stuff hard proofing it for the future, so the logical way would be to buy a class six card, which you can use when in the future you dont have a Hero anymore and do have a phone that "supports" class six.
Even less expensive!
Meritline has another brand Class 6 8GB for a dollar less (with shipping)! Only $18.45.

This is not a deal. If you think it's a deal you're new to the internet. I got a SanDisk 8GB Micro SDHC Class 6 for $18 shipped from new egg. Keep your sights on dealnews.com for micro sdhc deals.
On top of that Meritline is good but has insanely cheaply-built knock-offish type stuff. Got my sdhc card reader from them for $0.98 shipped. See what I'm saying here?

His was also Sandisk, that's noteworthy.
I know a lot of people have good luck with Trancend, Adata, etc... but I try my hardest to stick with Kingston or Sandisk for my SD cards.

Well that just make me look foolish.
My point mine was not a deal, it was quite standard pricing; therefore, neither is yours.
Here, this makes it easier:
Take Your pick!!
Ordered an 8GB class 6 card today from amazon. It's a transcend and it cost me the amazingly low price of £13.86 with no shipping costs.
Just thought i'd share this one with the group just in case someone else is looking for a new card

According to the site:
Read speed 2MB/s
Write speed 2MB/s
So I wouldn't be sure about it being class 6.
Hey guys i am looking for a good deal on 32gb microsdhc cards. I dont know if i should trust the ones on ebay because i know theres many fakes. Last time i ordered the msproduo cards and they were fake... said 8gb but were only 4gb... so i got a refund on those. Also if anyone knows some good deals on 16gb micro m2.
i recommend to buy at shop
Get a Sandisk card, those are usually authentic and offer great value and performance.
If you're looking for a card to put into your HTC Windows Phone, make sure you get a card with one of the following two model numbers:
SDSDQM-032G-B35
SDSDQM-032G-J35A (will be out for sale sometime this month)
A 32GB microSD card will cost you about 70-90 bucks including shipping. If you see an offer for a lot less, stay away from it.
Yea just bought this to put into my HD7. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rt=nc&nma=true&item=250752727418
SDSDQM-032G-J35A (will be out for sale sometime this month) <--- Thats class 4 and it will not work in HD7 right?

Sandisk told me it's for sale in Japan since January 2011 (this month) but so far I haven't seen it for sale anywhere and noone is importing it from there either. They assure me that card will definitely work, but I have not run a test on it since I can't get one.
Office depot has 8 Gig MicroSD cards on sale for 17.99
Cheapest I have found without ordering them. They also have a nice MicroSD to Flash Drive converter that's fun to play with for 7.99
Not sure anyone is interested, but might wanna get them unless you can find them cheaper.
I'm guessing you're talking about this one:
http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/980115/SanDisk-microSDHC-8GB-Memory-Card/
It's a class 2, which is fine for file storage, but you won't want to try running any ROMs off of it.
I checked Newegg and they have a Sandisk Class 4 card for $15.49 w/free shipping.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...457&cm_re=8gb_micro_sd-_-20-171-457-_-Product
You can get a class 10 Patriot for under $25 shipped as well. That one would be fine for running a ROM.

True enough. Still for a base card, nice steal. Holds enough of my music to make me happy
Dont know if its been posted but heres a cheap 32 gb card for xperia play-
http://www.mymemory.co.uk/SDHC/Integral/Integral-32GB-SD-Card-(SDHC)---Class-4
so who wants it get it lol its pretty cheap
Sure, you try shoving a full sized sd in the micro sd slot.
Even though that is obviously an SD card, that site has by far the cheapest cards in the last few months.
They had a Sandisk 32GB MicroSD class 4 for £44.99 the other month, which is the cheapest genuine card from a trusted retailer I have seen.
oh crap ma bad sorry about dat forgive me
i Recommend buying this... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/San-disk-...AsAccessories_MemoryCards&hash=item336b041119
if i was you i wouldnt buy a cheap Micro SD card as i done this before and i was shipped a fake card with really bad tranfers speeds...
Teku
For anyone in the US looking
$44.95 based on the reviews sounds like the real deal:
http://www.amazon.com/Sandisk-Micro...E4/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1315841102&sr=8-10
In the uk i go to CEX and buy a second hand one at a pretty good price
you also get a years guarantee
