I just bought a Nexus one off Craigslist. Now the external speaker isn't working. I called tech support and the phone is still under warranty as long as the phone hasn't been rooted.
Is there a way to check if the bootloader was unlocked? There is no indication on the boot screen (yellow key right?) It's just the Nexus X and nothing else. The tech I spoke to said there was a way to hide it.
Thanks.
if you see the unlocked padlock, youre unlocked

There is none. Have you heard anything about it being hidden?
Rooted or not Rooted

Get better terminal emulator from market and type su, if it goes to the next line and gives you this # then phone is rooted, if it says access denied, your good.
Root isn't a factor towards warranty, it's whether you unlocked your bootloader or not. Like britoso said, if you don't have a padlock on your bootscreen, then the phone hasn't been unlocked. Good luck on the warranty claim.
No, if the bootloader is unlocked it will show. You are rooted if you can run su in terminal.
Cool, thanks. permission denied.

Okay. Noob to the whole rooting scene... I have a Nexus 7 2nd Gen with JB and I got the bootloader unlocked and super user is installed on my tablet. My problem is, When I tried to install CM, I'll get to the bootloader screen as he says and go to Recovery mode and select it. I get the unlocked symbol in the bottom but after it's done loading, He gets to the TEAM WIN recovery part and all I get is the Droid logo thats body is opened up with an X type deal. What did I do wrong? Am I missing something? Please be as noob detailed as possible... i'd really like to learn this stuff. Thanks!

First off, if you have the 2013 model, you're in the wrong forum. Second, sounds like you don't have a custom recovery installed to me, unless it's REALLY showing "TEAM WIN" somewhere. The "Android guy opened up" sounds like standard recovery.
Something like this..

I bought a Note 5 from my work yesterday (I work at rent a center, it was a charged off and recovered stolen phone) Went to flash a stock rom on it so I could access developer options and it failed to the point I have to system recovery triangle.
I can find plenty of SM-n920c form wares and am pretty sure I got the wrong one. Only numbers I have on hand are:
N920CXXU2BPBA any ideas as to the csc code from that?
Keis and Smart Switch say it can't be recognized so they have been no help as well

Your awesome. I'll find it and download when I get home from work
That worked! Thanks so much
I purchased a used tablet off ebay. It is frp locked. The seller said he would refund me my money or give me a partial refund to get it unlocked. I am looking for suggestions on what to use to unlock.
I looked at the logs and took some pics of them. Hopefully they will tell you what version and security patch is installed. I get to the talkback screen. When click on the privacy policy I get the your request has been declined for security reasons.
I haven't messed with rooting or customising android since 2.0 or so. So I am way out of the game.
Suggestion?

You should downgrade to build ended with PH3, otherwise there is no way to use Talkback to open Chrome.
I don't know what you did, but Volume Up + Home + Power will open Recovery Mode where you can see the build number at the top.
With the volume up power home screen there is a option to see logs also. I will downgrade and see what happens

If you already know how to use Talk Back to reach Privacy Policy, then no problem to unlock FRP by downgrade the firmware.
They key of FRP unlock is to know what method to use with certain build or OS, there is no key for every lock, that's main point most users are missing when post a solution online, so are the ones are watching or reading.
I was not sure if the firmware I was on was able to unlock. After reading a lot, I found it easiest to downgrade the firmware. Works like a charm.

To make a long story short, a relative bought a phone off ebay that was in Retail/Demo mode and I was tasked with trying to get it out of that state by flashing a different stock ROM onto it. I used to have absolutely no issue before with older phones, but, after a few softboots with no success, I've eventually ended up reaching this far in nuking the phone, and even the IMEI in download mode is showing a 0 (though I'm not sure if that wasn't always like that).
From what I've seen the phone is certainly the Snapdragon variant, and yet there was no way to activate OEM unlocking within the phone. I know this situation is rather insane and I could be SOL but here's to hoping someone could point me in a direction to help fix this thing. I haven't tried flashing the unofficial TWRP in fear that it's going to screw over my recovery (in which I forgot to mention it works perfectly fine at the moment). Alongside with the security error, I have the secure check fail with modem displaying as well. Is there a certain ROM version that might help? I've attached a screenshot that I took right before I fell into the abyss, so hopefully that'll help (unless you can't see it out of me being new). Thanks for any replies in advance.

Will I get rid of this boot message if I flash a stock rom and relock bootloader? I need to send my phone back (warranty) but I am currently on lineage os and don't want to flash stock if it's not gonna get rid of this message. (yes I know phone is no longer under warranty but here in belgium they do not seem to care and fix my phone either way, but sending it with a custom OS on it is asking for trouble)
Fyi if anyone wonders what's wrong, they replaced my motherboard few weeks back and my cpu temp goes up to 80°c ever since.

You just have to disconnect battery from motherboard and reconnect it and enter download mode and flash firmware via Odin.
