MDA? - Touch Diamond CDMA

This has probably been discussed but I still don't really understand. Can I grab a rom from the MDA section and flash it to my CDMA phone? Is MDA just a branded TMobile phone or is it different than CDMA?
Thanks.

Complete Newbie with questons about ROM 1.40 for Sprint 6600

Hey all,
I have read hundreds of posts but modt of them are for the PDA2K and XDAIII. I know these are the same models but I am oblivious to whether or not I need a ROM specific to my Sprint phone. I also could use a quick brush up on what exactly I need to instal this. Pardon my ignorance I am just scared to fry my new phone. Thank you in advance for going easy on me
The Sprint 6600 is a different phone than the I-Mate PDA2k/XDA IIs. The PDA2k and XDAIIs are Blue Angels (GSM Radio) and yours is a Harrier (CDMA radio) which is the same as a PDA2k EVDO.
For more info on the differences, check out wiki:

Unfortunately, I know little about the CDMA version of the phone, but I would assume you can use another carrier's upgrade the same way you can on a GSM version. If so, the latest Rom version would be i-mate's 2.03.
That is very helpful thank you very much

TMoblie MDA vario rom installing

Hey i know this sounds kinda dumb, but if i have the T-Mobile Mda Vario from Germany, can i use the T-mobile Mda US version CD to convert all my applications and configurations to tmobile US? I hate trying to reconfigure all the emails/MMS/internet configurations manually! Will this work or will this turn my MDA into a non-working brick? SomeOne please help me!!! What do i need to convert? [/b]
simply install a WWE Rom. I recommence the Qtek 2.17 . Then do this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=38539&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 to fix the hardware keyboard.
So it is ok to run the 2.17 t-mobile rom with my German mda vario without currupting it? By doing this will it it configure all my settings to US t-mobile settings?

what do you recommend i do?

Hello,
I have a t-mobile mda that i've unlocked to use on cingular. i'm looking to upgrade the rom to either t-mobile's 2.26 or cigular's 2.25. Should i upgrade to t-mobile's rom since i have a MDA or should i use cingular's rom since im on their network? which rom would give me the best performance considering my situation.
Thanks.

Tmobile ROM and Cingular 8125

I have an unlocked cingular 8125 using tmobiles service, i was wondering if it was possible to put a tmobile MDA rom on it? I want to get the new version on aim found on the tmobile roms. Any ideas?
as long as you have got rid of the CID lock by using lokiwiz (on the forums) then u can use pretty much any ROM to my knowledge but i'm a newbie so might wanna get a second opinion
whats the most stable and newest tmo rom for the 8125?
i still using the cing rom for my 8125 under tmo >_<
im too scared to ask about roms, for the fear of being bashed, but i can't take it anymore.
i need a USA t-mo rom, thanks
and what does WWE mean on roms?
thanks

How to check CDMA or GSM?

Hi,
I'm new into this and would like to upgrade a bit my old diamond.
I bought it back in July 2008 (in USA) and still didn't flash it.
After reading around, I found that before I install hard-spl I need to know
if my phone is GSM or CDMA.
What should I do to get that info??
Thanks

What is your carrier?
From that data it looks like you are GSM.

I bought the phone in USA, and bring it to Israel.
I'm using it with Orange (Israel).
I'm also think that it is GSM, but I want to be 100% sure before I install the hard-spl.
Yep! You're GSM.
