i found some registry mods in wiki to get the BA to display first name last name in contacts but it says that you need to have cproghook installed.what is that and where can i get it?i tried a search in the forums but cant seem to shed any light on my query.is there someone who could lead me to the right direction?[/i]

cproghook has something to do with the phone application, in the Thread "a new button to quick dial" Mamaich gave us a little app that gives you a contacts button in the empty button in the dialer interface. You best look in that thread for some info on cproghook, since that has to do with some first/last name as well, but only in that little app! perhaps you have used it in the past and deleted it and the registry is still pointing to that program? For changing the order of contacts in the default contacts program, have a look around at this forum, I posted the link to 4 cab files somewhere that gave you the ability to choose how to display contacts. just search for "first name", "last name", "company name".
(ATT FUZE) I've tried googling and browsing through the preferences in opera:config, but is there a way to change the default web search from the landscape menu from Yahoo? I absolutely hate yahoo.

Curious myself as well. I have looked all over the net with no luck so far.
I'm using the Sprint Touch Pro using Juggalo rom and when I click on web search in landscape it brings up Google. Might want to ask him on ppcgeeks.com I don't know if he post here or not.
Mine changed to google when I changed to the tf3d landscape theme..
I was unable to find any other way of doing this, but it has to be possible since its something within manila I expect.
I currently use the ROMeOS2 Confuzed ROM and when I use the landscape search it uses google so there is definitely a way to get that setup just wit around for someone to point it out for you.

In windows directory there is a file called
ActionMenuItems.xml
Change from read only
Change the http ://us.m2. yahoo blah blah to whatever you want.
change back to read only
reboot phone.
I tried this, and now all my buttons show email and are not clickable. Could someone post thier working or unedited xml file so I can see if i accidentally changed something?
can someone upload a copy of the ActionMenuItems.xml file? my rom is missing this file. Thank you.
Edit: Winmo 6.5 doesn't come with ActionMenuItems.xml or InternetPortal.xml. I found them in a kitchen file. They worked.

Well I expose my question :
I live in france and use sfr.
Since the only sell HTC Magic they developped a program for the voicemail.
Problem when I lauched the program it says : " This programme is only for HTC magic user your device isn't supported."
How can I appear as a HTC Magic?
I've tried to modify build.prop (I think it's that file to appear as a magic user),
But it didn't worked.

If any mod could look my problem and tell me how to do this or if it's possible.

dixxa, you might want to pop this into the app forum because one of the devs over there recently patched the t-mobile "My Account" program when a similar thing was happening to anyone who had a custom ROM. someone may be able to find you a suitable hack for the voicemail program.
yeah I think I'll try that but I would prefer a more rapid solution.
Patching sound so heavy well I'll go for it.

i am kind of new to this forum & have the same question, but i can not understand your response. "moved as not ROM development"..??? is this phrase missing a few words or something? does this mean the mesasge was moved to another area or deleted because it is not pertaining to ROM development & if so then where can i find the answer to making Opera my default browser?
btw i did invoke a search using the terms "Default browser" & "opera"... this message thread is one of the few that came up with BOTH search terms in it.

never mind. i found out how to do so (using the "AE Button Plus" application already installed on my phone)
ive been looking around and havent found what im looking for so i figured id post it.i noticed the desire has quickoffice installed.can we get a .apk to place on the nexus?

My nexus has quick office installed out of the box. Just click a file and quick office opens.
However if you want to edit the files then you need docs to go or similar.
would yours be att version?mine is tmo and no office thats why im asking someone for a .apk
flash cyanogen and you'll have it. or download the rom to get the apk
Aren't both versions excujw the same? Have you actually attempted to open a word file to see what happens? I guarantee you it will work.
I'm pretty sure I didn't have the quick office icon when I first got my nexus one, but at some point after trying to open an office document I now have the icon, so I don't know whether it's there, but just not completely installed until you try and open a document.

It comes preloaded as a non visible file. But as you go to open a document you will notice quick office as you viewing tool.
Yup it's there on all Nexus Ones and always has been. Bought my Nexus in early january and it was there then as well. I did buy Documents To Go though since it's quite a bit more extensive.

To quote someone all you have to do is look at the persons post and at the bottom right hand side of their post click on "quote". Pretty easy if you ask me
And no problem. To install the apk just use a file manager (like Astro) from the marketplace
i was looking to see how to quote multiple posts i know how to quote a single.
