Did you revert back with the plan to root the phone? If so this may help.

So i rooted my nexus one to cm6. its was great, but beleive it or not i didnt like all the setting. I went back to the orginal stock rom which is 2.1. i'm trying to figure out if it will out back to 2.2 or 2.2.1 via OTA. if so how long will the OTA take or do I have to do somthing extra.
When you root the phone there's no ota update anymore, you can flash the stock froyo though.

Right, firstly this is my first post, so please bare with me.
I have a (UK) Galaxy S that WAS running FROYO 2.2. I recently rooted the phone for various reasons only to find out that some features would not work. I then un-rooted the phone to return back to the standard running 2.2.
During the un-rooting process the phone crashed, and subsiquently would not reboot. I got round this by recovering it using ODIN Ver3.0......But its restored the phone to 2.1, Build Number ECLAIR.XWJMB, Kernel 2.6.29 rootSE-S603 #2, Baseband version I9000XXJM4.
Ive tried to update the system using Kies but it says that it isnt able to update and trying to update using ODIN didnt work. Can i get my phone back to running FROYO 2.2 that i loved so much?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated
Thanks Rob

I believe this thing happened to me also. I resolved it by checking if the .PIT as per this table http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9000.htm is compatible with the firmware i wanted to patch on my phone.
Hopefully it will solve your troubles too
Heres my situation, I received a new phone from AT&T after a warranty claim, the new phone was running stock 2.2. I didnt want to mess with trying to root/flash the phone when it was on 2.2 because I understand that it is different, so i simply used Odin to get back to 2.1, and then flash a new rom. At this point, in order to get back to stock 2.2 should i flash back to stock 2.1, and then use kies mini to get to 2.2? or is there an easier way? Any input would be great! Thanks!

Hi, I've looked and can't find the answer. I am not rooted nor do I want to root. I would like to do the leaked 5.7.893, can I just download it and go into stock recovery? Is it possible to get the "official" update still if something changed or is there a way to go back to the original 5.5.886 like with the droid x being able to SBF back to froyo. Again I have no intention of rooting, any help would be greatly
appreciated . Many thanks to anyone who is willing to help.
yes you can install the leak but you will not be able to go all the way back. you can take the system back but you will still have the new kernal and radio. you cannot change those till the bootloader gets unlocked.
