I'm in Canada, so I can't buy the app because the market doesnt let me get paid apps.
I have cyanogen rom on my Rogers Dream. Is there a way to get a flip clock even though I'm not in USA or UK?

You should be able to contact the dev and ask him if you can pay for it via paypal or something. The website for weather widget donate is lock2.wordpress.com
It's a shame I cant use the hero's widget for the flip clock

Well, you could. All it takes is a hero rom that you like :b
But anyway, weather widget is exactly like the weather clock. He also has a free version however that does not allow theming.
Just use market enabler.

I read it fast and read "..you can rip out and push.." I read through about 40k grammar errors a day so it's reasonable for me to miss one here and there. After reading more I found my answer...You're working on figuring it out in another thread. Pretty tired of looking through all of these damn threads to get one answer. It's cool though, I'll watch the other one until you figure something out. Thanks.

Nexus live wallpaper aren't great, get the one with flying ducks and you can shoot them down
Waiting for the time to have pet live wallpaper where you can play with it, developers here might wanna consider this as your idea for selling android app.
Pet parrot live wallpaper, better if can download toys and see the parrot plays them.
Records sounds/voices and the live wallpaper randomly plays those sounds as parrot mimick sounds.
Just my crazy idea and pardon me if my english is difficult to read. Speaks mandarin most of the time here

I would like someone to develop a live wallpaper that looks like normal rain in which sporadic drops hit the screen and drip down (sorta like the HTC weather app).
Can't wait to get a newer device!
This is by no means trying to take over tatnai's faqs thread this Is simply a thread just to post your tips/tricks or favorite apps that you find verry useful/helpful on android.
Here's my 2 tips.
#1- I noticed that I was loosing memory space more and more everyday and I wasn't even downloading stuff, so I did some looking around and noticed that my browser was taking up 24mb! So if you go into settings/application/manage applications, and clear the cache in the browser it will go back down to 0.98mb.
Ps. Clearing cache will not erase your bookmarks or saved paswords.
#2 if you go into spare parts and set ( window animation & transition animation ) to fast it makes a big difference on how fast the applications open and close.
Please don't be shy, if you have any useful tips and or apps that you know then post them here to share with everone.
DroidLive by far the best streaming application I've used. I use it to listen to my premium AAC+ feeds on www.di.fm
PS if you like clearing your cache, I've found CacheMate useful. Can clear cache for every app you want from the home screen
If you have a data plan 2 words come to mind: Blapk Market (v1.06 to be exact).

Don't forget Better Keyboard. Reminds me of the HTC keyboard.
Here's something useful I've found: a lot of websites have iPhone versions that use the "webkit browser". Android uses the same protocols, so lots of websites designed for iPhone look great on Android too. i.wund.com is one of my favorite

Hey guys, I was looking through the nexus forum and found a post for Launcher Pro. It's available in the market for free and it's super fast. Check it out! The swiping is ridiculous and it works on the G1 MT3G
www.launcherpro.com
hmmm, just installed it and it is fast. Not nearly as many options as ADW but it sure is fast. Have setup all my screens again but will give it a try for a while to see how it fairs.
Wohoo...
Multitouch pinch to preview and the little bumps almost make the sense experience complete
This is crazy smooth! My only complaint is that it FC's when I try to pick a wallpaper from it. And cyanogen says that Launcher2 is not stable for our phones, but this is 17 times better. Anyone know the adb code to make it stay in memory? I'm not having any issues with it but I still like to have it in memory=p
Awesome stuff!
Requesting: scrollbar in the drawer; apps assigning for / editing for the shortcuts.
HOLY CRAP this app works flawlessly on my cm5t5 g1.
I would like for there to be more options though.
Great job so far mang, keep up the great work!!
Very very nice indeed!
Shame that I can't edit the icons using Bettercut and/or restore a previous Home-screen arrangement using MyBackUpPro. Without these things I will have to use ADW's Launcher for now. Which is not a punishment by itself
[Edit] With the "new" version (the one with the appdrawer handler still visible when you open the drawer) this IS possible (editting using BetterCut), nice job!
What does it actually do for a CM5.0.7t5 phone? Has Cyanogen weighed in on this?
hi there!
awesome launcher, smooth as hell.
But i wonder if theres an option to let in rest in memory.
I experience some wait time when im getting out of apps, so that the homescreen has to rebuild itself. with the default cm5t5 launcher theres the option in spareparts that makes it stay in memory so it was there very fast after quitting apps.
cheers
Using this launcher with cm5.0.7 test5 and its fantastic. Im also running the overclock kernel at 652 and its smooth!
Question though, wouldn't the spare parts option to keep launcher in memory apply to whatever launcher you are using?
Weird, it does not show up in the market for me...
I am using htcclays's csdi. I know that rom was from overseas originally... Does it mess up the market too?

I think its 2.0+ only
its just a launcher. uninstall and install it like a normal app. its not some system hack, i duno why some of you are worried about it. dont even need to nandroid, it doesnt mess up any system stuff. doesnt even require root access. it's a pretty smooth launcher. adw is trying to rework his to make it smooth as well.

yes it works, i set LauncherPro as default launcher when asked when phone booted, then i used SpareParts option to leave launcher in memory and it worked. Now when i close apps im instantly in my homescreen without having to reload it every time. works like a charm =)

I don't think so, otherwise people with sense roms could push spare parts into their roms and make the option work. I do know that there is a thread on doing just that in general, but I'm too lazy to search now=p
so im guessin' the LauncherPro isn't for 1.6 fones, like the G1?
^ yeap, see my post above.
Been using it since yesterday on G1/CM5.0.7t5 and it's mighty fast.
Excellent work!
A 5 column launcher would be nice though, if it doesn't affect performance...

And have something go wrong, brick my phone, and have only myself, and you, to blame. No thanks. Better safe than sorry. Go troll something else.
With my limited understanding of the flashing process and all of this, I don't take risks. Besides, no one on here is going to be accountable for bad advice given and replace the phone there crappy advice bricked. If you can't give advice without a disclaimer, then shut up about me asking questions like this.
im not sure if all you xda guys know about this but its a weather/clock thats looks exactly like the sense clock instead of the faux flip clock and with launcherpro i just found out you can drag the little icons and place more apps one it lol

Haha guess its a good thing I posted this then
Yeah its a sweet widget, ive been using it for a while now because it works all good without data, who knows how long it'll be till they get a C&D tho
Giving this a shot. I never really understood the point of a giant clock taking up screen space when there is a little clock in the corner, but I keep trying. I didnt like it when I had the notifications bar hidden. I like the look, but it just seems to waste space, IMO. Hopefully this will be the one. For some reason I never minded it in Manilla, but I think that was because WinMo just wasnt cutting it so it looked cool.
HTC complained go figure but they are coming out with there own design so hopefully it looks cool
it's amazing.

My ONLY gribe with it is that it won't scale depending on your DPI. I've been running 320x428 @ 144DPI and it gets all funky. Widget works great at 160DPI or 120DPI though.

any app that you wish to pull froma build do this:
go into astro explorer,
go to tools
go to application manager backup
check the boxes of any apps that you have installed and want backed up
click backup
now you will have all those apk's in "backups" folder on your sd card.
If anybody has an APK I'd love to have a copy.
