Hey guys i was interested in rooting but the warranty is holding me back. I wanna know what you guys gain the most from rooting. One thing i saw that made we wanna root the most is the 720p hd recording. How about you guys.

I am new to all this. Know nothing. I just stumbled accross a website saying that if I root my device and install CM11 my device might be faster. So then came to xda-developers.
I have just bought a secondhand tab 2 16gb. I find it awfully slow. It is mint condition and before i sell it on to someone else i thought I'd ask....
Is it worth rooting my device?
If so what are the steps and can a complete newbie do it?
Hope someone can come back with a succinct answer that I can understand - please no techie stuff!
