i can't seem to get my weather location on the home screen. i'm in the uk and that what it says on the home screen but i would like it to narrow it down if you know what i mean. plus can i have the weather updated through wi-if??

Try to enable wifi (just enable and don't connect to any wifi) and go to the weather tab and hit update button. Should solve your issue.
Also, use weather city editor if my location doesnt work for you (depending on area it doesnt work).
This way you can manually add your city to the weather tab, then add the location to the home tab clock, and voila, your city will be displayed on home screen

1-i just turn my tomtom on with my home adress set
2-press the home button to leave tomtom running in background and go to manila wheather tab
3-chose my location and press update now, just wait a few secunds and thats it! at least for me by the way iam using a energy rom 10 jul.

Hi Folks, When I click the weather tab on the HTC Home Screen, to select a city, nothing happend, it seems the weather app is missing. Someone having the same problem ? thanks in advance.
that is how it is just after install....tap on or up/down arrow to the very top of that plugin with weather selected... then hit the center button to go in and search/select the desired city ....
Sorry, but as I mentioned, this doesn't work
remove the application using ad/remove programs and then power cycle the phone as instructed. re-install the application.
I wonder if you can get rid of the top line of the HTC Home plugin that displays useless informations like "weater" or "favourite people". I don't need to read this to know that it's the weather forecast it's displaying at the moment.
Any ideas how to get some more valuable space on the today screen?

You can only can get rid of all the HTC Home plugin, not a part of it. Go to Start --> Settings --> Today and un-tick it in the home plugins.
Kinda blows. I too would love to have some nice HTC-designed today screen plugin but not such a space wasting one. The time screen doesn't have the date and the weather is not pre-fetched like it can be set to on some other weather plugins out there.

- I don't know how to set a contact for the favourite people tab; I tried HHC (v1 final), long tap on the plugin cells, double tap on the cells... No way, how do I do this ?
- HHC accepts and saves the change of my city in weather, but it stays on kualalumpur (a bit far from my place for the display ?
Every other customization works (through HHC), but these ?

Just tap them once and it should open your contacts

It may be possible where you are from there is no local weather station so you get the closest thing.. don;t be expecting it to tell you the weather right outside your front door

on the open home screen the two tabs at the side, one to store fav apps the one on the left when I click it just takes me to google search widget.
Is there a way to change this or is this just how it is.
Seems pointless having this and the google search widget as part of the skin too.
Not quite unerstanding what you mean. Are you talking about the little tabs either side of the bigger phone button at the bottom left and right of the screen?
If so the one of the left with the up arrow inside a circle goes to a list of all of your apps (not just your favourites). the one on the right with a + sign is for adding widgets or shortcuts to the screen you are in.
He's talking about the pull-out drawer and button at the bottom of openhome.
They can be turned off in the OpenHome settings, IIRC (menu > more > OpenHome settings), Though I can't check as I no longer use openhome.

Thanks for response, I managed to work it out in the end last night.
I'm having a lot of force closing and some random rebooting though with Open Home and not sure why. Any suggestions? - it's happened on the older version and now the newer one.
Sorry if it's been asked and answered, but I cannot find a way to set proxy setting for office Internet access.
The Nook does not support proxies.
Install the AnyCut app from market and add new shortcut > activity > Proxy Settings
Im not sure if changing it here will do anything, but there is an option

created the icon but it didn't appear anywhere.
Try again sometimes it's fidgety.. mine did that and I uninstalled then reinstalled it and it worked

I cant seem to put any shortcuts on the home screen. I tried ADW, LauncherPro and Zeam. each one crashes to home screen if i click on "shortcuts" or "folders" for that matter when long pressing on the home screen to bring up the menu.

Uninstall and Reinstall Anycut, this is a known issue with the launchers..
So, does this apply all the time or do you have to associate it somehow with either a WIFI connection or app?

It doesn't work for me. I've tried TransProxy and it gives me a No Iptables error or something like that.
I think this is something that needs a ROM which is really disappointing. I need a proxy for wifi at school...
