Could it be done on the Milestone? Mind letting me know how to and what is needed?

Stock apps are in /system/app. If you use Root Explorer and have root, you can simply do it.
There is a really useful thread over at Android-Hilfe about what apps you can and cannot move from the stock install
http://www.android-hilfe.de/root-hacking-modding-fuer-motorola-milestone/15161-welche-apps-duerfen-entfernt-werden-root.html
(I use Chrome so it automagically translates from German to English )
According to some it will not make any diffrence to the available size after removing. Would this stand true?
Take a look to Titanium Backup too. You can back up the app then remove it

I have an app on my phone that is no longer on the Market.
If I want to share it with someone else, how do I extract it so that it can be installed on another phone?
I am not trying to copy a "paid for" app. This was a free app that is no longer available.
Thanks!
I would use 'my backup pro'. You could probably use titanium backup as well, but I'm not exactly sure how to extract it with that one.
You'll need root.
Hope this helps...

its a fairly simple process....that im sure someone might answer...but im gonna assume half the people who look here want to steal apps, so ill avoid posting it
system/app
eehhhhhh wrong, data/app if it was downloaded from the market
Look for apk file on phone
search for your the apk file you want in root explorer or file manager and you can email it or upload to whoever you want. I use dropbox.com for pc and download dropbox from market for free I use it all the time 2 gb free space.

Agreed. This is how I share my apps on a daily basis
sent from my fascinating fascinate eating delicious froyo.
remember not to share paid apps (stealing)
I mean the apk from Alfonso Labs.
As per title, for the life of me cannot unistall it, the option is greyed out.
you have to be rooted to do this , using app from the market to uninstall apps from the market . or maybe there is no need for root , u look for the market for this kinda of apps, .
Thanks for the superfast reply.
I am rooted
tried:
1) easy uninstall
2) fast uninstall
3) root app remover.
Pulse doesn't even show up!
this is wired ... if you can see it on your Applications ...
go root explorer ... system\app , look for the name of the app ... delete this sucky ... if you can't delete it by root explorer .. its mean the app has MAGIC
Thanks, that did it.
It's a great app indeed, but c'mon! What's with refusing to be removed?!?
If its in system/app then you can't uninstall it. People would be able to uninstall their framework and ither vital things needed to keep the Tab alive
| Don't Revive Me Bro | Follow me on Twatter
do not go through anything except apps ... and not all apps pls. if you don't want to end up in boot screen for a holy long weekend

I too would like to know the answer to this.
If you are rooted you can also use Titanium Backup to remove Pulse.
link2sd also works if you want to remove apps..worked to remove pulse news on my galaxy tab 10.1 and GT-B5512
I've downloaded cm 7.2 RC4..
I open that rom, and deleted some applications that I think I don't need it, like :
- android keyboard (i replace with samsung keyboard)
- adw launcher (replace with GO Launcher EX)
- androdian and cyanbread (I don't really like that theme)
- BMKG
- browser
- car Home
- global Time
- gallery3D ----> i think you know why i remove this apps, if you use cm7
- pro tips
- all stock cm7 live wallpaper
- and other
and then I flash it..
it's works well..
Is it dangerous if I do that?
whether it will cause the FC if I install some applications?
sorry i have bad English

NO for me. uninstall Musice app and install google music. file manager and install astro.
but better flash rom then remove your unwanted apps with titanum backup and before backup that app.
ok
i do that, but when i want fresh rom, i must install titanium (again) and manually deleted (again) my unwant application.. right?
GT-S5570 cm 7.2.0 RC.4
Your list is quite safe, except for onw thing : browser, which I never deleted. Other apps should be safe to delete. Just make sure you know what you're doing. And don't delete phone.apk and contacts.apk.

thanks http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=3791248
but just one hour ago, i found new problem with it..
i have vending.apk (old version) from other thread,
i deleted vending.apk (version 3.4.4) from my \system\app and replace with vending.apk (old version)
restart
always FC (many application like market, phone, etc)
whats wrong? is my cm 7.2 RC4 not suitable with old version of market?
iTS DANgerous if you dont know what your doing .
I think you can't simply uninstall vending and everything will be ok. There's a flashable Gapps zip somewhere in this forum with the old vending, no autoactualizable (I think that word doesn't even exist in english xD). I hope to help.

I did that too, just remember to change permission and ownership for the old market (vending.apk). Btw, try to clear data from Market (from manage applications--all--Market) first. And don't forget to delete MarketUpdater.apk as well.

Is there a way to remove the extra languages (including keyboards) that I do not use?
Language packs can be removed via Titanium backup.

Thanks, I believe it would be safe to un-install the language packs as opposed to just freezing them?
Seems like I've only succeeded in removing the keyboards, I am still able to see all the languages under System Language.
You can remove them from system-apps in root explorer

The system languages is bigger job to get rid of. I think you need to de-compile system apps and modify these (remove some folders etc etc)..
And yes.. it´s safe to uninstall the packs.. but you need to re-flash rom to get them back.
Makes sense for some to remove the keyboard languages.. but i see no point in removing the system languages. Removing them saves you just a few MB´s if you are looking to free space.

Oh well, thought it would be easier than de-compiling to remove the languages. Thanks anyway!
Hello friends.
What I'm thinking to do is for example to use the Holo Locker not as an application that you download it as a system.
I mean that when you install the ROM and this post would be something more like changing the ROM with things I want, I want to know how to do that without having to downloading applications, only I modify the ROM before and when installing have what I want.

You can do it manually or with apps like Titanium backup.
In Titanium Backuo is a function: Integrate user app into system (Idk if this translation is correct since I'm not using it in english, bit you'll find it).
If you want to do it manually download the .apk file of your Holo Locker and place it with a file manager into /system/app/(here) , give permissions rwrr and reboot
