is it meebo that gave me 100% wake time last night or was it the htc ime mod?
they were both in the running services list when i awoke this morning
please and thank you
edit: im running stock .6 rooted. no apps dl'd
I asked a similar question in the past, but no response. I'm getting wake issues whenever a Titanium backup is done...

its meebo for me. while htc ime mod is running, it wasnt causing the awake time. based on my tests anyway. arent there any messengers that work well? i use msn.
Use Spare Parts > Battery History > Partial wake usage to determine what's keeping your phone awake
Also, Trillian for android is coming out soon

It maybe because of either BLN or WiFi sleep not enabled!
I did not have wifi on. I'm using the darky port v8.0. There is an app called bln but I never knew how to use it...

Curious why you would back up all your apps and data every night? If you have tons of apps it will use a significant amount of battery. Obviously could be your kernel that your running as well, or the modem, or a number of other factors.

Try this. Do a manual backup of all ur apps and data and see how much battery decreases. This will give u an idea of how much battery this task needs. On mine, it doesn't take more than 1% to backup like some 45+ apps and their data.
Well the back up doesn't even take 1% of my battery.. but I'm cancelling the schedule just for now to see what happens.

I don't think it's BLN. I frequently have Gmail get a new email in the middle of the night and not notice until morning, which means BLN was on the whole time, and I do not notice a negative effect on my battery.

Some ROMs have an app called Blinky, if you can find it. It allows you to set the BLN to blink, so you can save some battery that way.
Try flashing a different kernel. I can't remember which is included by default but I would suggest trying the speedmod kernel.
I guess the problem was tibu. My battery only decreased 7%. Is that y'alls battery life? And I have the bln app but how do you use it
Sent from my phone
That is good for idle drain overnight. As far as the app open it and check the box for enable, uncheck for disable? Don't like bln so I can't remember exactly.
I got a 54% decrease overnight and I realized I had wifi on. Is this the reason?

I leave WiFi connected at night and don't see that....I really think you should try another kernel.

Just go to the development section and look for threads prefixed with [KERNEL]. You can flash any kernel with SGS kernel flasher available from the market. I get insane battery life with glitterballs' kernel overclocked and undervolted, though I only enable wifi when doing extended browsing or downloading of files.
I'm running Perception 10.1 and I had HORRIBLE battery drain from day 1.
I noticed that my phone was constantly pinging the Google servers around every 5-7 seconds.
I had to disable automatic updates for Gmail in the stock email app and the ping/drain stopped. No idea what the real problem is. Gmail was set to update every two hours, but it obviously had other plans. Good thing my Gmail is a backup/spam account.
Why is the battery drain on this phone soo bad?! I bought a 3900mah extended battery and i still cannot go a whole day without killing my battery! WTF, and i dont even use it that much. Im on stock Gingerbread v20p update.

look at your battery stats
i have noticed that in my battery states that my phone stays "AWAKE" even when the screen is turned off for an extended period of time. I noticed that YAHOO! Mail app has a tendency of running constantly in the background keeping it awake. I noticed better life after uninstalling it.
SETTINGS / APPLICATIONS/ BATTERY USE then click on the small graph and tilt your phone to see it in landscape. Notice the change in the graph when your phone is awake vs. asleep.
I wish there was an app that told me when certain programs keep your phone "AWAKE" when the screen is off. That IMO, is the the real culprit!
Had a similar issue. Found google maps feasting on my battery when I wasn't looking. Kept turning it off but it would just turn back on till I noticed again. I figured out it was other apps with location services kicking it on. So I found a handy permissions editor from the play store and blocked the permissions to any app that wanted a location service. I also uninstalled any redundant apps that where stock but never used. Just went all day today on the stock battery with no need to charge.

Sent from my LG-P925 using xda app-developers app
i saw on other forums that an XDA developer wrote a great app called BETTERBATTERYSTATS. search XDA for it. it is free, but if you get it off of Google play it will cost a few dollars.
Using it I noticed that my Wifi was trying to turn itself on, but for some reason, at times, my wifi will not connect. if you force it, it just blinks at you 5 times and never turns on. Well, I think that some apps that use your wifi will turn it on, then if it wont connect, it continues to try until your battery dies.
I've had this issue with Bluetooth at times too. So since i rooted my phone, i have installed QUICKBOOT for those times to do a fast reboot which fixes wifi and bluetooth.
I have also purchased TASKER and told my phone to reboot at 3am every night. I still watch the betterbatterystats app to keep an eye on it and it seems to be fine.
i am also running the optimus 3D Gingerbread rom v21E on my Thrill and not the v20P AT&T stock rom. I had ghost call issues with AT&T's rom. (calls that people would make to me and the phone would never ring or show that they called). Hope this helps. With this rom i get 4g speeds (up to 10Mb) but not LTE speeds which is just a hair faster.
Think about adding Juice defender too to your catalog. recently i got my battery to last almost 24 hours!

Bring it to verizon and have them check it out. At worst it could be a bad battery. You can get a replacement online for 10$ or so, make sure to get a OEM one if you do.
My phone will say its fully charged at 95% or so but i let it keep charging and it gets to 100% in a bit.

The easiest way is to install the Power Control widget on a home screen. The second icon from the right (a white circle with two arrows) turns off automatic data sync for your accounts (Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc.). Turn it off when you go to bed and back on when you wake up.
Alternately in settings->battery & data manager->Battery mode, turn on Nighttime save to turn off syncing while you sleep.
I just charge my phone overnight myself.

I don't think it's cause. Because when i uninstall all social network, and turn off data transfer. The phenomenon's still happening. Android OS is draining my battery so much.
Then I think you might just have a malfunctioning phone or bad battery.
I've had this happen to me before. Are you running a custom rom, hqve you made and mods to your device, do you have alot of junk apps?

You can try a new battery, but if it's under warranty, then sbf it back to stock, and send it in for replacement if the battery doesn't work.

There's plenty of possible reasons behind it. Many threads on this as well. Is sleep mode even enabled in your power settings? Wake lock detector is another great app to tell you what apps are waking or keeping the phone awake. There are plenty of them that consume background resources that you're unaware of.

New phone will need about 3-6 full charge cycles to stabilize
what you can do in the meantime is get a better battery monitor app like GSAM from Play store.
Also in settings / apps / All - you can disable /uninstall all the crap a new phone comes with. I use to have a list of whats safe to disable on my AT&T One I'll look for it. generally anything with your carriers name in it can be disabled and google junk like google news / google games / chrome / gmail / hangouts / google+ can all be disabled if your not using them. lots of people use Greenify ...I have never had the need for it.

Thanks for the advice ! actually i'm using a custom rom with all bloatware out thanks for the app
I added a few awesome apps to my rooted s6 and i've saved about 70% on my battery life.
Greenify (will put apps into Hibernation when you turn off your phone so they don't run in background)
Smart Wifi Toggle (will turn off your wifi automatically when you leave a hotspot you've connected to before like work or home. Can also turn off wifi when your phone sleeps)
AutoBluetooth (will keep bluetooth off unless a call comes in, your currently connected to bluetooth device, or your in your car travelling for handsfree)
just these 3 apps seemed to have doubled my battery life. just wanted to fyi so people could check them out.
Thanks for the ideas!!

Do you adjust any settings in Greenify because I really don't see any battery savings using this app.
Developer Names ???

Genuinely it is wonderful performs. It is usually of great help for us all.
I swear these are a waste. Why run an app to manage your apps. If you just close out of programs and restart your phone every once in awhile your phone will be fine. It's the same thing as having a task killer app. Just open tasks on your phone and swipe away. That is how you manage your battery.

Though I might not be as harsh as you... I tend to agree. Greenify is basically like turning on the power saving option. Auto wifi might be good for convenience but it's not too bad to just turn it off when not in use. If I know I'll be away from a charger for a while I just turn on power saver and I'm golden.

This is true that I was a little harsh, but I wish people would know better. I have been using the samsung textiles for awhile and they are very convenient. I have one on my garage door opener on my motorcycle, one where I set my keys for my motorcycle, and one next to my shoes for when I go running. Best $5 I spent and it turns what I want on how I want it, for any situation.

I'm using Greenify as well but the change wasn't dramatic. In my observation I think roughly an hour or maybe two was added to my battery life. However I am not disappointed or anything as long as my phone can stand at least 12 hours with casual use.

12 hours with casual use would be terrible lol. These screens are missing a gap in battery life since i was trying to flash a new build of my rom so it stuck in boot loop for at least 15mins then i had to odin to stock then reroot install flashfire and restore backup so easily an hour missed but havent needed to plug it in even this morning:

I have 9 accounts syncing, I leave screen set to auto, I leave everything on except for GPS. I get about 12-14 hours with 2 hours of screen time - a far, far cry from my Droid Turbo.
What are you doing differently elliwigy to stretch your battery out so far? Ive tried Greenify more than once but it has never impressed me. Maybe I'm not using it appropriately.
