hi, i just tried, buy it said an error occured while unlocking your phone. see xdadev-all-unlock.log file for details.
turned off the flight mode, it works, thanks.
I have to use xdadev_all_unlock-v1.6_138.exe but after having to place on my xdaì O2 it asks me a code , for my sim O2 help me
Sorry to regurgitate an old thread but I am having a problem unlocking my xda, I have to to turn off flight mode but my O2 sim has expired, so I cannot turn off flight mode, any ideas of how to get around this, or will I have to find an O2 sim to put in my phone?
I think you may well have to find any old O2 sim to just bung in. When I unlocked my XDA, I had my sim in the device (I did it literally a week after I got it), and it ran through its algorithms and cracked the software running on the unit to unlock it Never tried it without a SIM in, but I'd imagine it wouldn't work as the protection layer wouldn't be loaded...
Mark, if you havn't gotten around to fixing it yet, try buying an O2 PAYG sim for a tenner, any O2 shop in London should have one.
Hi all,
I bought an Alpine, brand new (unwanted contract upgrade) from eBay, received it today and put in the PayG o2 sim that I bought from carphone warehouse. The phone is locked to o2, as I tried my old virgin sim and got the old "Enter unlock code", but with the PayG sim, it goes straight in, except there is an exclamation mark next to the signal indicator. I can't figure out what it is. Do I have to wait, say 24 hours for the sim to receive a signal? Or is it something more suspect? I can't make calls or do anything that requires payment from the sim.
Cheers,
Karl
EDIT: I have googled, and done a hard reset. I have come across that problem of not being able to select "Prepaid" for the simcard. I'm even using an o2 sim card! Is there something else I need to do? I've seen the settings for gprs and mms, but I just need to get it so I can use it as a phone! Please help!
Can nobody help me?!?!?
Have you tried calling O2? I had no signal for a few hours last night and had the ! mark next to the aeriel symbol, maybe there were network problems in your area as well?
Alternatively have you tried the SIM in another phone to check it's been activated correctly?
You could also try SIM-Unlocking your phone using the tool somewhere on this forum (Search should find it) and try it with your Virgin SIM to see if it's actually the phone which isn't working.
Apart from that can't help.
Sorry!!!!
G
I have emailed them about the problem, and may well back it up with a call; I just don't want to be on hold for an hour listening to someone playing the trumpet with their arse.
My sister has an o2 phone, but is out at the moment. I will check with her when I next see her.
I have been looking at the all in one unlock tool in the General section, but am wary of it as I don't want to brick this phone. Will it wipe the WM2k3 OS do you know? Or is it just like an application that searches the system?
Thanks!
UPDATE: Have just decided to bite the bullet and try the all in one unlock. It worked and my XDA is now on my old Virgin Sim. I will try my o2 Sim in my sister's phone at some point. Could it be that I have bought a dodgy o2 sim?
UPDATE: I tested the Sim in my Sister's phone, and it came up with "Unregistered Sim". I then put in an unused Sim that she got as part of a promotional freebie type thing and it registered in under a minute! I'm going to take back the Sim that will not register, but before I do, is there anything else I can try?
SOLVED
Simcard refunded, am using spare that my sister had as it worked straight away.
SOLVED
Glad to hear that - I had just dug out this morning the SIM unlock program and was going to PM it to you then I saw your post.
Enjoy your phone!
G
Thanks for your help buddy! Much appreciated
hi peeps, i have put my o2 xda2 back into service and used the excellent unlock giude from this forum (itsme' guide) and unlocked my phone to try and use with a t-mobile sim.
Having run the v.1.6 on it, when i put my t-mobile sim card in the phone i get the t-mobile logo and 4 bars of reception however it wont allow to me to make/receive calls or sms etc any ideas on how to fix this or what the problem maybe?
thanks in advance
it sounds like tmobile sim is old.try sim in different phone and see if it has same problem.if so a new sim should cure it
so I sold my friend my old G1 that was rooted / unlocked with the latest enom Rom on it. which is irrel, but anyways hes on at&t and as soon as he puts his sim card in there and boots it up, it ask him for a Pin. what is the Pin? where do I find this Pin, who do I talk to to get the Pin? any help would be greatly apprechiated. anyone that has a tmobile phone on at&t or another provider help would be great! Thanks a lot guys
That means your phone is sim locked. Call tmobile helpline and get the unlock code or search on ebay....
or go to mrcellphoneunlocker (search google) or contact rhcp on xda or on twitter http://twitter.com/rhcp011235 just another option, he's fast.

If the phone is now running stock software it should work, doesn't matter if it was previously tampered. If you are getting a prompt to enter the unlock code when inserting a foreign sim card you should be good to go, just purchase your unlock code.
Thanks for the info and fast reply
Anyone know a good reliable site for unlock code and once unlocked if I put Vodafone card back in would it effect it in anyway

sim-unlock is permanent, it will not relock if you put a vodafone sim card back.
