I am looking to pick up a Nexus One off craigslist and I am just wondering if there is anything I need to know and look for to get a Nexus One that will fully work with Tmobile?
A few questions:
Will an unlocked ATT Nexus One work for me on Tmobile and if so will it do both Edge and 3G for me on Tmobile. What problems might I run in to?
The ATT and Tmobile phones have different 3g connectivity. If you are on tmobile's network, you will want a Tmobile phone. The good news is, you will probably have a much easier time finding a Tmobile Nexus one for sale, as they have been available much longer, and many people using ATT bought a Tmobile one as they were not available originally on ATT.
Thank you Cirkustanz, that was what I was wondering.

In my quest to find my daughter an ATT Nexus One I ended up with
one that only gets the Edge network on ATT.
I'm assuming this is a T-Mobile Nexus One.
So in my continued quest to find an ATT Nexus One I ran across a guy that said that you can change any Nexus One to run 3G on either carrier by dialing
*#*#4646#*#* and changing a setting.
Is this true ????
I didnt think that sounded right so here I am asking you geniuses
what is the real deal on this.
Thanks for your help.
Not true. It's a hardware issue.
The att nexus has 850/1900/2100 as 3g freq's, while the T-Mobile nexus has 900/1700/2100. Att needs 850/1900.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA Premium App
If that was the case there would not be two different version of Nexus 1
See now thats why I posted in here.
I knew it didnt sound right, and that you XDA guys would know.
Thanks
Yeah he is just trying to make a sale. Its not possible at all.
I signed up with Sprint less than a month ago and I got my HTC One.. Great phone.. Terrible, awful service and i'm canceling and moving onto pretty much anything else that i can take my new phone.. I've looked through a few threads about using the Sprint HTC One on other carriers, mostly international, but i haven't found whether or not this phone can be used on Cricket.. And if I can, is it fully functional? MMS broke? Data only 2g? Or to T-Mobile? Same concerns.
If i absolutely have to I can sell it and buy another that will work properly on either Cricket or T-Mobile.. Which one do work those carriers?
Sorry if it was discussed.. I did search first..
Thank you for reading!
It will flash to cricket just fine. Cricket/sprint both cdma
Hi I'm in a Nexus 6 on Verizon my cabin is in weird signal area 4G is here but spotty. 3G is on an extended network using US Cell towers. Problem is I can't talk back to people I can hear them but they can't hear me. Previous to this I had a Droid Maxx HD when Volte came out I gave it a try not only was there no one to talk to but it did the same exact same thing the nexus is doing. I couldn't just turn it off I had to remove it from my phone. Then it worked fine. Point is doesn't the Nexus come already capable and if Verizon offers it will be activated on the Nexus. I believe this is the problem is anyone on an extended network having this problem? If I am correct there is no way to fix it at least until Verizon gets the Nexus and even then they probably won't admit it especially since I bought my phone from Moto. Thanks.
Newbie here, but was wondering if anyone else is having problems with call quality, dropped calls or choppy calls on the Sprint Network?
Been dealing with Samsung and Sprint and each blame one another since the phone IS NOT stock! Never heard of such of a thing, but it's
getting pretty old.
After perusing other forums, I've done the following:
1. Reset network settings to carrier brand
2. Locked cellular network to LTE/CDMA
3. Hard reset the phone on 2 occasions and reapplied the above.
At first, it seemed there was an improvement in call quality, but has been degrading again. Ready to return this device back to Samsung.
Had similar problems on an unlocked Note 8 as well.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you.
Im using a sprint note 9 unlocked with tmobile, works fine no dropped calls or anything like that. So phone is good maybe its ur carrier. Sprint is pretty trash where i stay.
I'm using a U1 unlocked model on Sprint. No issues with call quality.
