I REFER to this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10757949#post10757949
My thought is that this is definetely a step in the right direction.
Whereas it does not give the HBoot access that we are all waiting for, it might re-open some vulnerabilities that do, so I think that I am going to have a happy day now.
step3 we get shell root now. open a cmd and input adb shell(make sure you have install relative tools) relative tools ? what are u mean from where//?
When i enter su root, it says : su not found
Whats the matter ??

Hi
The link dont work http://www.android-hilfe.de/attachme...lash_image.zip on step 9
sorry but I think you guys won't have any chance here. I think it doesn't matter which ROM you have running as long as the boot loader is still locked... The problem was never the FroYo 2.2 ROM itself but the HBOOT it contains.
So I think the only way to get rid of this problem is waiting for Unrevoked to support HBOOT 1.01.0001....
Nice that's like they're doing it with the legends.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=894465
Can you try to put on a recovery mod? Then It " doesn't " matter what hboot is on you wildfire.
I'm trying to find a way to push a another hboot over this one. Like htc has the possibility. There has to be a way to change your hboot version. My biggest problem is finding the right signature.
nice job!
I noticed they have managed to downgrade the rom and the hboot on the legend, its seems more people work on legends then on our wildfire. Simply meaning it seems to take us ages to do what other people have already done.
I for one am trying and getting nowhere fast lol is there any one out there thats close to rooting or downgrading the wildfires new hboot? I have got temp root and downgraded to the 2.1 rom but still have the same hboot so cant get root! Also cant downgrade the hboot still searching for ideas!
I'm trying to modify an old Hboot so that the new Hboot thinks it's newer so let it update. Or modify a new one so that I doesn't make a problem to be downgraded. Supposing that you can flash hboot 1.01 to hboot 1.01 and then to a lower version.
Am I right to think that the cn froyo came with hboot 0.83 ?
If it works like you said, then this is something new as this exploits 1.01 and not 0.83 ?
Anyone knows the difference between the two hboots or is this question. Irrelevant here ?
Do flashing a RUU rom with Hboot 0.83 included will downgrade the Hboot ?

That would be great if it works, you are more knowledgable then me lol i wouldnt know where to start on that. I've been tinkering but not as deep as replacing or modding the hboot. Been hoping unrevoked would have a solution by now but there are little or no comms from them saying if its possible or even how far they have got! so its still a waiting game.

No, if it were so easy, the solution would have certainly be posted already.
since we can gain temp root, there should be a way to replace tha hboot manually...can we replace it via cmd using simple copy-paste commands?

Please explaint me because i am confused (open cmd from the windows or from the wildfire and what is the relative tools must i install in order to proceed?

open command prompt on your pc (go to start then run or the text box if your on vista and type cmd) this will open a command prompt window.
the tools you need are the android sdk tools to access adb found here:- http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html download the .zip and once downloaded un zip to c:/
google search for a guide to set up android sdk and adb loads of guides out there
also install htc sync from htc site as the drivers in the package will be needed to connect to adb.
Can some body give me the flash tool or a working link to it?
thx!

Sorry my bad - I'm not allowed to post outside links yet, due to the board rules.
You will be able to find the link in this topic:

i will update the first post with the correct link
this can be a solution a modified hboot. I still don't know why its good to downgrade to 2.1 with hboot 1.00.10 We cannot use unrevoked so its no use to do that.
INTRODUCTION
It seems that a lot of Canadians are having this problem, so I decided to make a guide on how to bypass it. For my guide on flashing RUUs on the Canadian IS, click here.
THE PROBLEM
People with a Canadian Incredible S are continually getting the "Model ID Incorrect" error. This error occurs because the Canadian IS has the model ID PG3212000 while it seems every other IS has the ID PG3213000, which is blocking us from installing it... But luckily there is a way to fix this error.
THE SOLUTION
NOTE: It seems many people are having problems. After reflashing my phone and S-OFF'ing it again I had the same problem. Turns out ENG S-OFF is needed for this! Find out how to install it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1070348
To install a PG3213000(Any non-Canadian Incredible S) radio on a PG3212000(a Canadian Incredible S) follow these instructions:
1. go to: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=12870734&postcount=1 and download whichever radio matches your rom...
2. extract the file you just downloaded and open up the file called: "android-info.txt" in WORDPAD...
3. In the text file change the first line saying "modelid: PG3213000" to "modelid: PG3212000" and go File -> Save.
4. Rezip the file and make sure you call it: "PG32IMG.zip". Copy it the root of your SD card.
5. Reboot your phone in bootloader and let it install... DONE!

which one do you find works best with the bell is?
It all depends on what ROM you're using... You always want to use the radio recommended for the ROM... if it's a RUU, the radio is already in it.
I'm on the Virtuous Unity 1.26.0 ROM and oddly enough there isn't a reccomended ROM.
Also is this way any different than extracting the radio image and pushing it through fastboot?
Both have the same results, but this doesn't require andriod sdk, any work in command prompt, or ENG S-OFF... And I would recommend the 20.2804.30.085AU_3805.04.03.22_M radio
I was wondering how to do this since I need to update my radio to install CM7. Thanks so much for the tutorial!!
Hey can you use this guide when trying to flash a ruu? It never works when trying to flash a RUU because of Model ID incorrect... I am stuck in bootloader because of that...

I have tried that before and it did not seem to work... All it did was install the HBOOT and radio from the RUU and then it rebooted my phone...So essentially all it did was revert my phone back to S-ON... I will keep playing around with RUUs and will release a guide if/when I figure out how to flash them.

Reflash a Gingerbread radio... Unfortunately it is currently impossible to downgrade your radio from Gingerbread to Froyo... It will put you into a never ending boot up loop.
Wait... Are you saying you successfully flashed a GB RUU? How?

No it doesn't work... It was only when I was S-Off that I installed Android Revolution rom and that upgraded me to gingerbread... Well after that I accidently did a hard reset which removed my S-off and I am now stuck in bootloader with ***Security Warning***. The only way to fix it is by flashing a stock RUU but since this is Bell IncS only Sasktel rom works and I cannot flash that because I get the error "Main Version is Older" error.
Noob here. What's RUU?

RUU is an acronym for ROM Update Utility... It is an official update for the phone which makes it as though it was new and seem like it was never tampered with(no root, no custom recovery, not custom HBOOT, returns you to S-ON, etc).
I believe this has been posted elsewhere, but if you are unable to flash your radio AND you are already ENG S-OFF the following works perfectly.
Download: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WIWVHF7O
Make sure HTC Sync is installed
Extract ZIP to a folder and from that folder run the following:
1. Connect your phone into a PC, and make sure that USB Debugging is enabled
2. Type: "adb reboot bootloader"
3. Once your phone is in bootloader (white screen with text), type "fastboot flash radio radio.img"
4. When the flashing completes, type "fastboot reboot"
This works on any version of the IS, including the Canadian one. I included the recommended radio, however any radio can be used by replacing the radio.img file.
Other radios here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=14834003&postcount=1

Yes, I know, but this makes it so that ENG S-OFF is not required as it is a little bit overkill... Plus, I used this as my basis in an attempt to installing RUUs on the Canadian version of the IS, since I was told it is not possible unless I XTC clip it... I proved those people wrong.
It doesn't seem to work for me.
I edited the android-info.txt file, re-zipped and placed the file onto the sd card. When I reboot into hboot, it says "Loading PG32IMG.zip" then "Parsing" then nothing else happens.
EDIT: Never mind, I got it to work using the other method.

[Q] Downgrade HBoot 2.00 Gingerbread 2.3.5 with HTC sence 3.0 "Permission denied"
I think it's the right place to ask this question
I read almost every thread, however I got confused and couldn't for the life of me, figure out what to do
Here's the problem that is asked so many times, but all with confusing discussions:
I got HTC Incredible s with Gingerbread 2.3.5 and Hboot 2.00 and software number 3.09.415.2
I did the unlock via HTCdev -------------------> no problem
Installed recovery ---------------------------------> no problem
The problem is, I can't downgrade Hboot 2.00 to 1.16 or 1.13. I face this problem after giving command for adb shell:
cd C:\Android
adb.exe shell
adb misc_version /data/local/tmp/ ----------------> from this point. All i get is "permission denied"
I tried using HTC toolkit, making a gold card (the process in which 3 questions were to answer: you device rooted? - want a goldcard?-got unlocked via HTCdev?) - HIS tool.... none would work and after doing these steps, RUU wouldn't install with the error.
can anyone give me a hand?
thanks
Use the script that is in this thread. It should work just fine.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1373697
Just because you have unlocked the bootloader does not mean you are rooted.
You should probably try answering NO to the are you rooted question and see where that gets you.

but nonetheless, RUU aborts and tells me that I haven't picked the right RUU.
Edit: I forgot to tell, I flashed Superuser through recovery, nothing changed

Flashing SuperUser will give your apps root access, but in order to run the script successfully, you need a ROM that has an unsecured boot.img, such as any custom ROM. Try installing CM 7 and then re-run the script.
That is why you are getting the access denied message while the script is running.

You will just be required to pull the boot.img from the .zip file. After installing the ROM, reboot to fasboot menu.
Then type in command: fastboot flash boot boot.img
Both "boot" are required and do not forget the .img at the end. If you changed the file name, just replace the second "boot" in the command line with whatever u renamed it to but do not forget to put .img at the end

I'm sorry, could you expand your answer a little bit and guide me more specifically?
thanks
When u download CM7, its in the form of a .zip file. Open the zip file using winrar or whatever unzipping tool u use. Open it, do not extract it. When you open it, you will find a file named "boot." This is a .img file. Copy (not cut) this file where u have adb.exe, fastboot.exe, and AdbWinApi.dll. I will assume u have these files when u downloaded Android SDK. For simplicity sake, do not rename it. Then put the ROM onto your phone and flash the ROM through your recovery. The boot.img file is in the ROM. After you finish flashing the ROM, reboot to bootloader and from there, enter fastboot mode (shud be the first option. just click power button to select it. Then on you computer, open command prompt and navigate to the file with the boot.img, adb.exe, fastboot.exe, and AdbWinApi.dll. In the command prompt, it should say cd c:/(wherever your android stuff is in)/ another folder maybe for organization)/.....>
from there type in fastboot flash boot boot.img
After a few seconds the ROM will have been flashed to your phone. Reboot and u have CM7 on your phone. Then run the RUU.
If the RUU fails, tell us the error number. Although i dont really know much about this, tpblake does and im sure hed be willing to tell you what the error code means cuz the RUU really doesnt tell u jack.
So I did, step by step
I did all, cm7 worked perfectly. then I did as you said, fastboot boot boot.img
As foreseen, error 155 popped out. "please get the correct ROM update utility and try again"
I would be thankful if you guys help me through.
Yet I have another question. If installing custom ROMs are this easily possible, then why should we do the s-off?

About the second question of mine, I know what s-off is for. My question is, moments ago I flashed CM7 custom ROM to my phone and it works properly. For installing ROMs, being s-off doesn't seem so necessary. or am I wrong?

Yes this. Error 155 will pop up if u have an unlocked bootloader. Relock bootloader and rerun RUU assuming the script ran everything right
Edit: To your above question, yes S-OFF isnt necessary. However, it is necessary for some ROMs to have S-OFF or Blackrose HBOOT, the latter of which can only be obtained from achieving S-OFF. And what kind of security problems

No you're not. If you want to custom install radio , kernel , hboot and rom need to gain s-off but some rom no need to s-off. Like miui rom need s-off and hboot blackrose. Just ignore the security thingy. I had the same problem before for the security but i just run the ruu and install it works. It say security problem on fastboot rite? Then just run the ruu while you on fastboot mode. Hope it works
Also adb shell command need super permission from the device. You have to root your device.

Oh, I know how. I have this cell phone for about two years. It was root and s-off was due. But some accidents happened and I sent it for warranty, they sent it back with Hboot 2.00.0000.
But my problem is, Beta code sent by revolutionary is invalid when inserted in revolutionary.exe command propmt.
Thank you guys, this worked.
To sum it up, If you have "permission denied" problem with runme - and then, installing the RUU - relock your phone, run the RUU. and everything is there.

Hello everyone,
This is my fisrt time writing in this forum, hope you guys can share some knowledge with me. Here is my issue:
I bought a HTC One to a guy a few weeks ago with barely no use. The thing is that I didn´t know at that time that the device was rooted with the MaximusHD. When I realized about it I reset my phone to factory settings and the new 4.3 3.22.1540.1 got installed. Thought it was ok but it is still doing some weird things so I decided to unroot the device to stock, also for warranty porpuses.
The problem comes when I try to download the RUU for my device due to I cannot find it. Should I do it through other method? Do I have to S-off to downgrade and install the RUU 1.29?
My phone is the following:
M7_UL PVT Ship S-On RH
Baseband 4A.17.3250.14
Hboot 1.54.0000
OpenDSP v31.120.274.0617
It is the european unlocked/international version bought in Spain.
I would really appreciate if someone could give a hand on this and guide me in through this process. I was an iPhone guy and now I'm freaking lost.
Thanks so much!

Thanks for the reply. I've tried to s-off my htc but it hasnt worked. So I downloaded the recovery stock version and after installing it, the device told me that my phone doesnt appear to be rooted and if i wanted to install supersu, i declined and then made a recovery. Phone looks like unrooted, although within the bootloader it still shows "tampered" and "Unlocked". The recovery mode that the phone had installed has disappeared so I dont know what to do now, should I continue to s-off the device and then put it down to hboot 1.44 and follow the unroot guide???
I would like to make sure my device is unrooted in order to gain warranty privilages just in case i need to send out my phone to htc...
Thanks!

You don't really have a choice, unless you have the RUU for your phone. Can you post the results of "fastboot getvar all" so we can try to figure out what to do.

I've attached the results in a jpg file. The only thing that has changed is the baseband...it went up to 4A.20.3263.16

Just a quick note here, "version-main: <blank>" I never like that.
BTW, when posting "fastboot getvar all" it's preferably to remove IMEI and s/n; we don't need to see that.
You should probably get s-off as @attanasi0 suggested and then run a "HTC__304" downgrade RUU. (You can only downgrade if you're S-Off)
Just my two cents

In regards to the "version main", I tried lots of times but it was blank all of them, dunno why. Some of you guys know what the reason could be?

When you boot to bootloader does it also show nothing in OS (7th line down or so)? Can you remember the last OTA you took?

Right, it shows just OS- but nothing else...when i bought it the guy had installed the MaximusHD 13 and I updated through OTA to the MaximusHD 20 but wasnt going smooth so I reset it to factory settings and It installed the JB 4.3 (3.22.1540.1).
Today after trying to s-off without success, I downloaded the recovery stock version for the rom I had and flashed it and the recovery mode that I had before disappeared and the baseband upgraded to 4A.20...instead of the 4A.17 that I had before that. Did the guy who sold me the htc messed it up? is there anything I can do to set my device to factory settings?
Thanks for the help guys! I appreciate it!

Well from the information available, you have
- hboot 1.54
- m7_ul
- PN0710000
- CID HTC__304
this would lead me to assume you have a 2.24.401.x based phone.
I would try to get one of the following Guru Reset ROM:
2.24.401.8 : http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_2-24-401-8-zip/
2.24.401.1 : http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_2-24-401-1-zip/
flash one of them in recovery, then follow the rumrunner steps to try to achieve S-Off.
If that is successful, then you can downgrade back to stock, using this RUU (exe): http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...1-27_10-31-1131-05_release_310878_signed-exe/
check your "fastboot getvar all" after that.
Once you've done all that you can use revone (or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2477792) to remove "TAMPERED"
and also revone (or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2475914) to get you're phone "LOCKED" if you so wish
Keep S-Off !!
PS: hit the thanks button if someone has helped you

Thanks for the help. I have downloaded the Rom you gave me the link for but I dunno how to flash it due to I lost access to the teamwin recovery mode and when I click recovery onto the bootloader it goes to a black screen with a caution simbol in red and I have to reboot it.
I have tried with the goomanager to flash that rom but it doesnt let me. Any advice in this regard? I can tell goomanager to find an open recovery script (openrecovery-twrp-2.6.1.0-m7.img), should i do this? Or Im gonna end up with a bricked phone?
Thanks!

"black screen with a caution simbol in red" that's stock recovery, you need to flash back a custom recovery. download (if you dont have one) from the xda threads, then enter bootloader (shut off phone, hold POWER + VOLDOWN) enter FASTBOOT, connect to PC and it should change to FASTBOOT USB
then
fastboot erase cache
fastboot flash recovery <name of recovery>.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot-bootloader
-> enter RECOVERY
then "install ZIP" in Aroma, deselect "stock recovery" so you don't need to flash it again.

No problem, TWRP you mentioned should work just fine. It's the same as installing a custom ROM. I havent used TWRP but it should say something like "install zip", then find the zip and flash away.
Hopefully, that will give you a chance to successfully run rumrunner; remember to read and follow the instructions to the letter!
Good luck and keep us posted (fingers crossed)

Well I installed the custom recovery, then flashed the stock rom 2.24.401.8 as you told me. Once I did that I ran rumrunner successfully gainning S-off.
Now I have to run the RUU but the one you suggested me is the "RUU M7 UL JB 50 HTC Europe 1.28.401.7 Radio 4A.13.3231.27 10.31.1131.05 Release 310878" but my radio is 4A.17.3250.14_10.39.1150.04L. Should I try to install it anyways? I've taken a look at the rest of RUUs and none fits my features...
btw every time I flash the stock version at the end it tells me that my phone doesnt appear to be rooted and if i want to install supersu, i always say no and after that my recovery always goes to stock, i guess it is normal, isnt it?

Go ahead and flash it, it will downgrade everything (now possible thanks to S-Off), and you will then receive the latest OTA package(s) to get to the most current version including radio.

Hey! I have tried to lock it but after typing adb shell I get this "[email protected]:\ $" instead of the # that you are getting. I've tried to type "su" after that but it says that the command cannot be found. Also, when I type the code "echo -ne..." it says that I have permission denied so dunno what to do now...
Im asking in the lock/unlock threat but they just told me that its because im not rooted and that i have to install a recovery and install superuser in order to be able to introduce the code, dont really understand why I have to root it afer unrooted it :S

You should have LOCKED it before running the RUU, because that's what made you loose root.
So before proceeding, can you give me an update of your status:
bootloader: locked/relocked/unlocked?
tampered?
ROM?

Using CWM and TWRP - sometimes one works and sometimes one doesnt
Using adapter to 16gb jump drive (to install roms using recovery)
My trouble is that every rom i've installed has left me in a boot loop. sometimes the rom will load, sometimes i wont make it past the lockscreen, the time varies but never more than a few minutes and not once have i had a connection - no service, no 3g , 4g wifi or anything.
I've looked into acquiring S-OFF, but for hboot 1.56 im not sure.
firewater requires the internet connection and seeing how i can barely keep my phone from bootlooping... this has been two days now and im in desperate need for my phone.
what do i need to download/install or research? i wipe every time i flash, i can use adb...
Im fairly savvy enough to use/understand the tools provided to me, i just am at a loss as to what to do now.
I've tried to go to a RUU but between the two versions i tried, neither worked ( i tried with the 'locked' and 'unlocked' )
i used the guru reset (thanks crushalot) for CID SPCS_001 and it did load but again i had no service and the phone would restart every few minutes. I used the htc all in one tool (thanks hasoon) to push revone - never got anywhere with that at all - moonshine and rumrunner also did not work.
Heres the list of roms ive tried already by using both twrp and cwm. these are zips located on my 16gb flashdrive attached using an adapter. the roms normally load and give successful messages but then when loading either fail or only loop:
forgive me for not being able to remember who to thank for these - but thank you all for your hard work and tireless efforts to provide. it doesn't go unnoticed
bigxie_m7_GPe_KRT16S_odexed-signed never loaded

Sprint_KitKat_ReBase_1.4 never loaded
sprinthtcone_signed_020214_4.06.651.4_kitkat never loaded

At this point if someone could show me how to just return to stock and have service I'd be thrilled. thanks guys!

My guess is you tried to install a GSM rom which messed up your parttions.
Use this guide to fix
Use the 4.06 s-on firmware and when you get to step 8 refer to 8a (adb push a Sprint 4.06.651.4 sense rom to your device) once you are up and running you can flash any Sprint 4.06.651.4 rom.
Any questions PM or post here

It says you used the 3.04.651.2 firmware..it would not be possible for you to flash the 3.04 firmware because you are s-on your phone wont allow it.
Or if that was a typo and you did indeed use the correct firmware you most likely got an error and it didn't finish flashing.
Or the rom was a bad download.
I noticed that you sideloaded a Rom and flashed after the RUU? Did you flash the boot.img found in the zip of the Rom you flashed?
Sent from my HTC One using xda-developers app
Dang i dont know since i named it firmware. I knew i had to get the 4.06, maybe i made a typo. nonetheless i dl now and going to follow the exact process again.

Sideloaded a rom yes, im not using an ruu, (although if i could i would use an ruu but i have yet to make it work without error maybe due to my version) but if i was, flash what after? if unzip a rom and find the boot.img should i flash that?
I feel that the fact my connection is gone; cell,3g 4g wifi - that it means something much more devastating has happened. I rooted an evo years ago and i remember finding problems like this that refer to wimax and rsa keys. Anyway. ill post more info once i figure out EXACTLY which firmware i install this time.

Alright. Using the correct firmware 4.06 this time and it finished and gave a success message, afterwards i adb sideload through twrp this ROM Sprint-HTCONE_Sense-4.4.2.zip found here on xda http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2633129 and then i extracted the boot.img found in the ROM. I used fastboot flash boot boot.img and had success. At reboot... Failure looms again.
Described as Odexed/Rooted
I'm wondering whats happening. at the lockscreen i open and see this message: "process htc.dialer.com isnt working would you like to.." then it gives me a green htc logo and whit background. at the lockscreen i see that i have no signal. seems as though i am missing vital pieces of the puzzle.
