I did a search, but couldn't find it. Somone have made a 6.1 ROM that was completely barebones, it didn't even have SenseUI on it, it was completely clean. Does anyone have a link to it?
Also, I remeber it was for Sprint, would that work on a Verizon device as well?
Thanks
You're searching for a CDMA rom or a GSM one?
Verizon/Sprint, so that would be CDMA, right?
I would want the ROM to have all the phones functions working, but no SensuUI, no titanium, nothing, just completely stock (I want to run PointUI)
I terms of CDMA I'm absolutely no-expert, here in Europe we do not get it ;]
Just asked because it's important what kind of rom you're searching for. Anyway I think this is not the right forum so I think mods will move this thread.

I just upgraded to the latest tmo rom, and I think it sucks. so I am in the same boat. I am going to attempt to go back to the earlier rom. so if I can I will post my experience to help out hopefully and get you where you want to be.
theres a thread about removing Hardspl somewhere
it involves USPL-ing the files from inside the RUU
yeah t-mo's rom updates are garbage. you can easily go back to an earlier on by downloading one of the original t-mo roms in the dev section. Then just uspl it right on your phone with Flash Center of whatever you wanna use.
Simple as that
im good yall. to me it works jus like the tmobile branded rom without the preloaded crap. in my deive info it shows i have rom version 4.10.531.2 wwe. i found out how to flash from the sd card and it worked like a charm. thanx to everyone U GUYS ROCK!!!
Remove Hard SPL

Hey guys, I just bought a Touch Diamond and have one question... where do I start? Haha... It's unlocked but I don't know what ROM or anything is loaded on it... How can I find out? What tweaks should I run/install first? I've looked at the stickies, but I'm totally lost... They are not very newb friendly, imo. Thanks guys.
Mmmm...
If you're that new to the Diamond, the best place to start is with the manual! Flashing ROM's isn't difficult, but it IS essential you follow the tutorials in the stickies - unless you want to fry your device!
To find out what version your current ROM is:
Start / Settings / System tab / Device Information / ROM Version
Depending on which country you're in, and whether you bought the device new or second hand, you could have anything ROM-wise. I will tell you one thing though, if it's got a stock ROM (one from the manufacturer), you'll definitely benefit from installing a custom ROM from here.
Read, read, read - then read some more, then ask questions in the relevant thread if you still don't understand. There isn't anything you can do that hasn't already been discussed / experienced by someone in this forum!
Thanks... So from what I gather I need to flash the unsigned HardSPL from Olinex and then flash a new rom... Which one would you advise? And after that what Radio ROM should I flash? Is there a preferred option? Do radio updates that read "Quad band" add the 850 mhz band to the phone? Thanks again.

look for ROMs here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=430
Just look at a few of them and the changes that have been made, basicly go for what you like. You can always change later (just make sure you run a backup first)
Read the guide first:

I haven't messed with my radio at all cause i can't be bothered and it just doesn't seem worth the effort to me.
Radio...
I've left the original radio (1.09.25) on my device. I've tried a few different ones, but honestly, I haven't noticed any difference at all. May be some people notice a difference depending on where they live or their network provider?
As AdamHC says, there are a few ROM's to choose from, but there is no 'best' or 'worst' - just one's you like and one's you don't. You have to try them to find which one best suits your needs. Some are heavily customised, some are close to the stock ROM, with just a few tweaks.
Thanks guys, you guys have been very helpful. I'll update this thread when I am done flashing and such... Are there any really helpful CABs I should check out as well? I'm looking at that phone shade/slide and also the Keyboard 2.1... are there any other must have apps? Thanks again!
I have a few noob questions about rooting on cdma hero. these questions also might other people who are totally new to this. Please answer the questions in most basic english, thank you.
1. what can you do after you root the CDMA hero?
2. pertaining to 1st question, since CDMA hero sprint is somewhat different from original hero, after rooting can you do the same things on CDMA hero sprint has the other htc hero?
3. Is there something similar to installous and cydia on the hero/andorid?
4. getting the "free" apps from websites/torrents/or other means, will it work on cdma hero. to clarify the question, since most apps are listed as for dream and other andorid, will it work for CDMA hero?
5. when you dowloand the free apps how do you install it on to your phone (i know this question is prob answered on the forum but if someone wouldn't mind explaining it in a simple way then it would be appreciated.)
6. also the openhome or ahome i think, what is the difference to root and add themes then use one of those programs. assuming you download the program from the web.
7. what is difference between a rom and theme?

1.) all sorts of things! (http://android-dls.com/wiki/index.php?title=Why_Root)
2.) There are some differences but it's all the same for the most part (the main differences are what ROMs and Recovery Images you can use)
3.) There's no need for Cydia on the hero/android since you can install apps direct from the web or anywhere by default (just checkbox: Settings->Applications->Unknown Sources).
4.) You can download apps direct from the web just fine, see above. Some apps are coded specifically to take advantage of other models but they usually will say so...and if it doesn't work, you can just uninstall it from the app manager.
5.) When you download a free app, you just run it and it installs (If that doesn't work, you may need a file manager, I use Astro file manager from the market)
thanks for info!

6 & 7. Themes change the look of your UI. They are not permanent things and can be removed at any time with no problem or messing with backups etc. Roms are what you need root for. Roms can fully change code inside of the phone and can extend functionality past what you can usually do ie(stock roms cant wifi tether but the custom rom can). Roms are harder to get rid of though and to go back to what it was before you have to restore your phone to a previous state. Its all up to what you think you need.
Ok, I am unsure if this is the right place to ask, so I apologize if it goofed. I thought about posting it in rom development, but I was unsure.
As I have noted before, I am now an amputee. Missing most all fingers on my dominate left hand and my feet. I am looking for a better rom for my Pure, one that will be easy to use. I have used several different themes that made things a little easier ( as suggested by some nice ppl on this forum) but I saw the 6.5.3 and think this would be much easier for me.
I followed so many threads trying to find a simple answer, but no joy.
my question is pretty simple:
Will this rom work on my Pure.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=528217
Or, does anyone have a better suggestion for a 6.5.3 rom to flash on my Pure?
Thanks!
Smoakeater
That ROM will not work as it is for the Fuze, not the Pure.
Have a look at this ROM.
I assume you have installed Hard SPL?
FYI, ROM Development section is specific for ROM development, General or Q&A is proper place for questions.
Oh, that looks groovy! Cool, what I was wanting. I have yet to install anything yet for flashing a new rom, but I will be soon. I have been pouring through some noob guides for flashing.
Thanks so much!
Smoakeater
You can select your Custom ROM from the ROM Development forum here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=486 for Topaz/Touch Diamond 2.
There are several that you can chose from .
Thanks.

YES they do solve the question and they are very old threads, you didn't miss them, you just didn't search for them, you could find them with the search function on this very site...
- I have an htc hd7 tmobile
* like me
- I think it is factory unlocked but not quite sure
* if you can use any SIM, then it's unlocked...
- I was roaming around this website and found about custom rom. I want some detail about it..what is it for..?What are the advantages and disadvantages of it? Is there any risk? If it gets damaged then i will not get any from my dad....can we get bt transfer from any custom rom..
* You clearly didn't read or use google about the topic, all the custom roms say what they do, also the concept is obvious to avoid questioning about what it is...
Official ROM, Custom ROM
what does this tells you?
Are the custom ROMs made by Microsoft, T-Mobile or AT&T?
What is Official ROM, can the Official ROM be made by anyone?
Does the custom ROMs thread mention something about BT transfers?
Does any thread mention this topic about WP7?
next time don't fear google.com
