We have just released a new application in the market called BarTender:
The application can be found in the category Tools.
Description:
Transform your notification bar into a complete menu!
BarTender allows you to easily add shortcuts and folders onto the notification bar. This way your favorite contacts, applications and other available shortcuts are always easy to access no matter what application you are in.
Let me know if you like it or if you have any requests / bug reports!
Going to check this out right now
Sent from my HTC Dream G1 using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
Hmm you should do the same thing that the guy that made SetCPU where he posted a free version on XDA and put the donate on the market lol because some of us are too poor ^^
I've been looking for this kind of app for ages now -.- lol
There is now also a lite version available for people to see if they like it.
For folder support and upcoming features you will still have to get the full version, but i think this will give a good idea how the product works.

The Lite version appears to work great, but from what I can tell, it really drains the battery. Is this an isolated incident to me?
It shouldnt drain any battery because all it does is add the notifications and stops itself until you save again ( then it re-adds the newly configured ones ).

You're right. It was isolated to me. But thanks for the explanation...that's pretty cool how it works. I thought it was like running in the background or something.
This is a senseless rom. Works great.
You can grab it from here:
http://inc.sodpit.com/roms/ozzeh/
Just installed this rom. It seems to work pretty smooth but when I went into accounts to add gmail it doesnt list it as an option. A big part of the phone experience is having this integration but it looks like it has been taken out. If I am missing something please let me know.
Thanks for the effort!
http://roms.sodpit.com/2010/06/22/unrevolved-zip-by-ozzeh/ you need to install google apps
You can also add your gmail account to the native Mail App but, that takes away from the senseless feel though.
Nice job ozzeh, feels very fast. Very clean.
Btw setcpu doesn't work, does it? (Only questioned your screenshot)
My main question would be, do you see better battery life with the Sense-less UI? I don't really have a problem with Sense in general, other than it seems to run a lot of cr*p in the background, my assumption is this adds to the terrible battery life of the Incredible (compared to the Moto Droid, even when overclocked). Just curious on your experiences with battery life with this rom, might make it worth it.

I just installed it this morning around 6am so far the battery life is alot better but, I'm use to having over fifty apps installed. Give it a day or two, for some real results.
Can't download
When I click the link to download, it just redirects me back to the same page. When I click the apps link, get a cannot be found error.
Anybody else experiencing this??
edit...nevermind. You have to download from the roms.sodpit.com frontpage. Won't download from http://roms.sodpit.com/2010/06/22/unrevolved-zip-by-ozzeh/roms/ozzeh/apps.zip
LOVING the home screen rotation, AH finally! Might actually stick with this one for a bit after I try out jager 1.1
Silly Questions
But, I am really curious how the facebook / contact integration is without the htc sense facebook integration? Is it the same I like that all my facebook contacts link to my google contacts, but does this option go away with sense?
Also sharing photos from the gallery with HTC facebook, seems like it would go away too, and while I haven't used the regular facebook for some time, I remember it not being as easy and as convenient as the other (i.e. couldn't add the photo and create a new album at the same time, etc)
anyone care to share their experience with these 2 things?
can't get this to flash. MD5 sum is correct and everything seems fine but it hangs at the white incredible boot screen forever! Tried everything but it never works, Oh well.
Try redownloading it through your PC browser or phone browser...it works fine for everyone else so there is no reason it shouldn't work for you...other than an error on your end.
ozzeh, my nandroid backups got screwed up. Your unrevolved rom is my default rom for now, hope it'll support me
Is it possible to backup text messages? It'd be nice to have them persist after the flash

yes! SMS backup and restore in the market or Titanium Back up. SMS backup and restore does not need root but ii recommend it 100%!
For some reason Gmail and Google Talk have the 'unknown' android icon, and they both force close when trying to launch... what did I do wrong? Market works fine. I tried applying apps.zip downloaded (twice) from my laptop and once from inside the phone browser to no avail.

for me the facebook integration is still essentially the same. and i say that because you can still link all ur facebook contacts to google. also sharing is still the same, as the facebook app for android is the same for sense as well. Now, the caveat to this is I came from my sprint Hero phone with no sense and that is how it worked. Also, I have not personally used this ROM yet.

Considering I am having the same problem, do tell, what error on our end would it be? I mean, yeah, the phone was wiped. The MD5s match. So whats the issue?
Its easy to say user error, its quite another to actually help someone out and explain the problem. If you don't know, then don't say it.
I've compiled my own roms for the Moto Droid, and have never had issues flashing them. I think I am qualified enough to flash a copy and paste job.
Is this what you have to do to apply the rom?
1 Download the build.
2 Rename it to "update.zip".
3 Copy it to the root of your phone's SD card.
4 Turn your phone off.
5 Start up in recovery mode by holding Home and pressing Power.
6 Press ALT+W to wipe your device. (You need to do this, or the device may hang at the flashing Android screen)
7 Press ALT+S to apply the update.
One other thing, if this is truly a sense free ROM, I wonder if JIT will play nice with it. I know JIT hated Sense, perhaps someone with the ROM installed wants to give it a try? I'll try it out later if I have time to install the rom.
Hi guys,
Hope someone can point me in the right direction.
For the longest time I had been running a custom ROM with my old HTC One XL, specifically the ViperXL Rom.
In effect, the sole and only reason I used that ROM was because the developer had modified the stock Mail program to bypass the Exchange Passcode requirement. (This is not the place to argue to virtues of the passcode requirement, I have made my choice and I'm sticking to it).
When I got the Xperia Z, in order to "bypass" the passcode requirement, I resorted to using a mail app called Enhanced email - which is great. But, as per some other users on JellyBean, the Enhanced email app would lose all settings everytime you restarted the phone - an obvious annoyance. The temporary workaround was to achieve root, and use titanium backup to back up the application, and then restore it. Effectively installing it in non-volatile memory.
This workaround is effective, but not elegant. In addition, Enhanced email is a good app, but it isn't as slick, or as integrated as the stock functions. I'm also not knowledgable enough to modify the stock APK myself.
So, the questions is, is there a Xperia Z ROM, which is close to stock look, with a modified mail apk which overrides the passcode in Exchange?
thanks in advance!:good:

I tried it, and works perfectly. thanks!
Well now that I've got a six inch screen to browse on, I'd like to take advantage of it and disable mobile site views/force desktop view on all sites when using Chrome. Anyone know of any particular method for accomplishing that? The "Request Desktop" checkbox in Chrome itself is unreliable so I was hoping for a root alternative if necessary. Tried this method but it's terribly outdated so I wasn't very surprised when it didn't work.
I haven't tried this yet, but this app looks like it might be worth trying - "Chrome User Agent Switcher". At least the description sounds like it's what you need, plus it looks like it survives reboots in the same UA mode.

Tried it but it didn't work. :/

Boo. I'm going to pick mine up in a couple of hours (if they actually have one in stock like they say they do). I'll do some testing and let you know if I find something that works.
Chrome User Agent works great. I've been using it for a while. But you do need root.
EDIT: Hmmmm. I see that you are rooted. I haven't tried it on the N6 yet, but perhaps you need Busybox installed for the app to run properly?
Just installed BusyBox and still no change. Do I need to do anything in particular with BusyBox?

I don't believe so. I also can't get it to work. I'm pretty sure it was working in lollipop on my N5 though, so I'm not sure that the problem is necessarily lollipop related. Perhaps it's related to a recent chrome update...I'm not sure.
That apps with for me, stock rooted n6.sweet!
Hmm. After not working at first, this is now working for me. Not sure why. Try it again and make sure you force close chrome after applying the user agent settings switch (and make sure you actually apply the settings switch by hitting the arrow in the top right of the app).
Hi guys, I'm just wondering, as I'm totally new to android, if you could walk me through the initial stuff a person should do to get the most of his new device.
What I've already done:
Got Nova Launcher and set it up in basic fashion. Will have to go back to it later.
Got Llama, playing with it. Any ideas for setting it up besides the usual silent mode at night, turn off wifi out, turn on mobilde data out... ?
Got SwiftKey.
Got Min Icons.
Got SD Maid Pro.
Fiddled with settings a little, nothing serious.
What I want to do:
Use Debloater to clear bloatware and useless apps. Can I use it to get rid of Xperia keyboard, lockscreen etc? Should I? How do I know what I can disable and what not?
Get some lockscreen replacement app.
Figure out widgets. Seems like there's a disorganized mess of them in my phone even though I didn't install any.
Get a new dialer and contacts app because the original Xperia ones are pretty ugly.
Besides this, is there anything else I should do to improve performance/usability of my new phone? What do you do to your phones? I want the setup to result in a minimal interface and the best possible battery+speed+stability/reliability.
Also, what apps do you use instead of the stock ones like Gallery, Camera etc. Is it worth using other apps?
Thank you.
