Home launch lag - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I installed ADW Launcher, and it worked fine. But recently it takes a long time to get to the home app. Pressing home from ANY application takes a minimum of 1.5 seconds, which doesn't seem like a lot, but it's noticable when it takes something like 3-4 seconds just to load the home app.
I switched Home caching on (never kills) but it's still slow...
Any Ideas? Froyo FRF91, Stock.

Bump, anyone?

[Q] Bell SGS so slow its impossible to use!

Hey,
I have a Bell SGS, totally stock. It's suddenly become incredibly slow.
I haven't installed any new apps recently, or changed any settings.
When I press an icon, any icon here is what happens:
- I put my finger on the icon and let go, nothing happens for 2 seconds.
- The icon goes 'dark' like it is being depressed, stays that way for about 3 seconds
- The icon finally gets 'clicked' and I get the 'ding' sound
- The screen goes black with only status bar for about 5 seconds
- finally the app will show up, but if I press anything, it is unresponsive
- the app will become responsive after about 5 more seconds
- If I click a text box (like in stock messaging app), it freezes for another 4-5 seconds, the keyboard doesn't come up
- Finally the keyboard will come up.
ALSO:
- The phone app takes ages to launch.
- Anytime there is a screen to scroll, the scrolling is unresponsive for the first few seconds, its painful
- pressing the home button takes ages to bring me to home screen
- Often the phone just locks up and I can't turn the screen on, have to do a battery pull (once a day or so), I can't figure out what is causing it.
There are no apps running while this is happening, I looked at all running processes and everything seems normal, nothing hogging CPU.
Reboots don't fix it, it comes back just as slow
All the haptic feedback is way late, sometimes the little buzzes get queued up, so it wont do anything, then all of a sudden it will buzz 10 times in a row as it catches up with the button presses
Samsung email (which I use because I like how it handles multiple accounts) is the slowest program in the phone. When it loads up, I click on one of my accounts, it takes literally 30 seconds to load the messages. Then I still can't scroll for another 10 seconds, its agonizing. Switch to the other account? Another 30 seconds. Both accounts are set to keep emails from the last 14 days (not that much).
So, what the hell is going on? I took it to the Bell store, and even with the stupid warranty, they said "well, its still working, so theres nothing we can do"

[Q] Lag/Unresponsive Issues Question

I just got my Nexus 6 yesterday, and I noticed two issues where it lagged and or was unresponsive.
1st Issue:
After getting the phone I decided to use it until it ran out of battery before charging it to 100%. I had Power Saving set to turn on when the phone hit 15%, and once it did I noticed that it started lagging pretty bad.
2nd Issue:
My phone is now rooted, stock rom, Franco Kernel, but I changed nothing. everything is set to the stock settings. While charging the phone I went to go use it and reply to a text message but the entire phone was being buggy. It was lagging, unresponsive at random times, the home button wasn't taking me to the home screen, when I tried texting the keyboard would come up but cover the are where I was typing in, instead of pushing the area above the keyboard, and my picture was where the send button should be next to the typing area.
I appreciate any help or ideas anyone can provide!

I do not know how to fix that, but you might be able to use a different launcher and see if that solves it. It's an easy bandaid if it works.
Chris
OK so I downloaded nova launcher and after opening it seen that the Hotmail app might give nova a problem so I Uninstalled it and now have no issues

[Q] How to REALLY fix the home button lag on G800F?

The lag happens when I hit the home button in order to go back to the home screen from any app, I'm not talking about waking the phone since the phone wakes up fast enough. This has been a long running issue with the galaxies and usually disabling "Open Via Home Key" on S Voice fixed it but on this device (G800F) I've done just that but the lag it's still there. I think there's less of a lag now but the home button's response it's still not as fast as I'm used to. Does anyone know how to fix it other than installing a third party OS? If I have to disable an app to do it I will (disabled S voice but that didn't help matters).

Home button lag

Anyone else got lag when pressing their home button?
Last night it took about 20 seconds from pressing the home button to displaying my home screen.
I'm using Nova Launcher.
Do you use greenify or home bot?

Mine seems to have infinite lag. I cannot for the life of me find the home button! I might stick one on off an iPhone 5s. That has a fingerprint reader in it, therefore solving the "FP reader at the back" problem.
Seriously though, it will be something eating ram Im guessing. I use Nova prime and have zero lag. But then again, I don`t have "Sh*tstirringbook", "InsTITSgram" or "Snapc0ck" installed.
My wifes S7E slows to a crawl when she has these "apps" on.
Might be worth a look.
I agree those apps are so heavy they freeze up every single phone over time even iPhone. You need to clear the app cache or reinstall them and the lag will be gone

Those sickenning infections are the first things to get rid of, if present as bloatware!

Using Nova here too and no lag at all. What Rom/kernel are you on? Or stock?
I have no lag. My phone is fassssttttt and I have a **** load of apps.
happens to me occasionally. clear cache and recent used app helps.
ever since i restarted my "daily morning restart-phone ritual", havent been doing that since i stopped using blackberry (which is termed battery pull because that is the only way to really restart the bloody phone and takes 30 minutes to boot up) i havent seen such lag.
