android market for chinese XT701 - Motorola Droid and Milestone General

guys,
I got a chinese milestone XT701, Android 2.1
In China these units do not come with android's the market.
Could someone possibly provide me with the required app for this phone?

Same here, just get and flash file from open recovery site.and u can have market.
Sent from my Milestone using XDA
App

Do you have a link to that site?

There is an update for XT701 users that gives them google services back. Use google translate to translate the address if you need english, then follow the instructions, the link to the update is on the page.

Where's the Android Market on My HTC Magic?

Iam in Indonesia,...
I've bought HTC Magic.
There's no "android Market", No "Google Maps" on Screen Menu.
Anyboady help?
if you lift up the menu with apps in, it should be called "market".

i had same problem no Android Market on my htc magic. i bought it from malaysia. I called the HTC customer service they said SEA version no build in android market. So can we install the android market manually?
You probably can't *just install it*, but you can root-n-flash a more complete system image to the device.

Android market & google maps only available at Magic-GMS (google mobile services) version. The one that you bought is Magic - OHD (open handset distribution) version. OHD version is available in most SEA country.
But.....it gives you solution as well.......YOu can try to take look at your bookmark in your browser, there's a link of SlideMe. you can click that and it will brings you to download the 3rd party appstore (similar like android market). It has a various apps, you can buy apps there and also there are many free apps .

If you search the apps (*.apk) at your PC then have it download into microsd...then you have to access this first : http://g-android.com/apps/appinstaller.apk and get installed in your device. So after then...you can install apps in microSD using this appinstaller.
Amazing....after this......you might love htc-magic very much.

@dricos:
Is your HTC Magic under warranty or distributed by SisTech?
No Android Market will change my mind in buying the HTC Magic.

I can answer that for you. Yeah it is distributed by SisTech, and no android market, so don't buy it (just yet) until they release Android Market. We also don't get any Google apps (Google Maps, Gmail, ...)

I assume with Android OS we will get all the Google connectivity. I want the Gmail, Google Calendar, automatic phonebook sync with Google Contact. How come Sistech sell a crippled android phone?
My wife brought the same package recently and got no google applications on the phone too. I've flash the units with this rom here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=523680 and can use all the google applications now ( yes, market included ). If you really miss the google stuff ( well, I guess not everyone need that ), give that a try ( remember to backup using nandroid before you flash it ). Note that you need to manually enter the APN after flashing your unit, so remember to write down your current APN setting before you do the flash.
I bought the Magic here in S.A, and it does have a market (OpenMarket) on it, but it's nothing compared to Android Market. Isn't there a possibility to install Android Market on the Magic rather thatn flashing a new ROM? It's for warranty and insurance reasons.
Cheers

That is not really a 'perfect' ROM. Use the 1-click method of the unlockr.

depending on the rom version you have, you can use the 1-click method and then flash the engineering spl or the shipment spl-0009. both can be found on the SPL thread made by Amon_RA.
if you have a higher version ROM that does not allow 1-click, then you need to follow the gold card method.
This Method worked perfectly for me (bought the Magic in Indonesia) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=548096&page=12
U only have to run the RUU_Sapphire_HTC_Asia_WWE_2.53.707.2_SEA_test_sign ed_NoDriver.exe to change the perfected SPL to S=OFF , afterward you can install any ROM you like.

[Q] How can I get Romanian language for swype on I9000XXJPM

Hi guys,
Maybe I missed something but after few searches I couldnt find an answer.
Is there any way to get Romanian language prediction in Swype?
Maybe a CSC change or.. install a different version of swype from another ROM..?
I have an idea but not sure about the correct way to follow.
Can someone give me a hint?
Thanks a bunch!
Hope this helps!
It has all languages!
Go to www//4shared//com/get/26YCldWS/Swype_160368214_HVGA.htm
P.S. Sorry moderators for violating rule (To prevent spam to the forums, ALL new users are not permitted to post outside links in their messages. After approximately eight posts, you will be able to post outside links. Thanks for understanding!) Had to help him
The file is gone. Any update?
Hey Cezar,
If you still need Romanian language support for your Android phone I can give you step-by-step instructions. Let me know.

Can I get the file even if I'm not Cezar? I need the Romanian dictionary. The auto-correct crap to pop Romanian words.
Install new Swype (even on phones with Swype preinstalled)
1. Go to http://beta.swype.com/ and register in order to download the latest beta. (it works just fine)
2. Although they caution that if you had Swype preinstalled this will not work, there is an elegant work around.
a. If this is your case (most Samsung phone do come with Swype preinstalled) you need to have your phone rooted and Titanium backup installed
b. Freeze the original, preinstalled version of Swype with TB and reboot the phone
3. Install the Swype installer you’ve got using the method suggested above and follow the instructions. Once installed, Android sees the new Swype as an update to the original version.
4. Go to Swype settings and download whatever dictionary you wish (including Romanian and many, many others) - this is actually the main (and I should say very important) difference between the stock / after-market versions of Swype - the first comes with only a few pre-installed dictionaries without the ability to expand, while the latter offers a lot more choices and the versatility of downloading/installing the language(s) of choice.
That’s it. It works like a charm and the Romanian dictionary is quite comprehensive – although it takes some practice in using the diacritics (you have to swipe through the “-“ sign for l-au, m-au, etc.)
Thank you very much. I was able to update & to install Romanian. It works pretty nice.

ask about CyanogenMod-6.1 for dream

Hello, im little green about roms, and i have question..
yesterday i install on my dream CyanogenMod-6.1 and i love it,but there is no android market app?
why?
is there any chance to install it?
and why it isnt orginnally?
please help, cause i think it is important apps..
ps. i wrote here beacause i new and i cant write this post in topic about cyanogen
thanks for all answers!
A little while back Cyanogen had a scuff with Google and they said that they could not use Google Apps in their ROM. So in order to keep doing what they do, they make the ROM without the Google Apps. However, you need to download the Google Addon Pack (http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/files/file/124-google-addon-mdpi-tiny-20101020/). And you should be able to view the Cyanogen forums. I know if you download anything directly from them you need to be registered, but registration is free so you shouldn't have an issue.

Firstly how does not been able to install appbrain stop you from downloading anything from market?
Second, what do you mean you cant install it, Have you got the apk file? what happens when you run the installer?
Third, please use descriptive titles for topics, What you wrote does not describe this topic.
If you want help you need to give more detail, Nobody reads minds here.

Am assuming yours a GSM tab.
firmware tells you are running Froyo 2.2
Build number tells you what FRoyo ROM firmware you have I.e. JK2...this basically gives the date of the current build and the build version for your location/country...
Baseband tells you which modem you have in this JK2 modem
All the above basically means its on stock firmware not modded.
For not able to download from the market...do the following...go to Settings>Applications>Manage Applications. Tap on ALL running applications, scroll down and tap on Market. In the Application Info page which opens up, tap on clear data and restart your phone...hopefully it should now work.
Appbrain no idea...btw appbrain is not the same as google market...

You need to enable non market apps to side load applications

answer to your first question... my gmail account does not detect my galaxy tab as a device or for some reason isn't getting synced.. although when i created my new gmail account it showed the round sign which you get when it is being synced with.. but whenever i go to the android market and log in... it doesn't detect my galaxy tab and says there are no device synced with my gmail account... and because of that i can't install any softwares ...
secondly ... no i don't have the apk file since when ever i try to download it... i get that error message..
thirdly.. i apologize for my messed up english and i wasn't trying to look cool with my post.. or anything.. i am not from usa or uk so my english is not upto the mark like you guys and i am so sorry for that.. please tell me my mistakes and i will try to overcome them from now on.. again i am so sorry for the trouble..
and my thread tittle was meant to be "hi i am new xda devs forum and i always wanted to be in it but i didn't have the proper gadget for it all this time but now i am able to afford one android after so long and i am facing a problem with my samsung galaxy tab as i know nothing about it.. so i want to know is it jailbreaked or did i get the real thing ... and secondly i cannot download anything from the android market ... is it because i don't know how to do it?? or is it because i can't sync my gmail account with it?? cause when ever i want to sign in it says my device is not synced with my gmail account.."
besides if i don't need appbrain.. could you tell me the procedure to download from the android market??
So you sign in with you gmail account but it doesn't sync anything? Go to accounts & sync and see what is syncing. Doesn't make sense that it says there isn't a device synced with your account.
Never heard of this problem before. Only similar issue i've heard like this is after syncing some paid apps don't show in to market, not that it doesn't work at all..
And regarding downloading from the market. Open it up, choose your app, download it.
And your Tab is molded because it says 'root' in your kernel info but it sounds like you're running a stock rom.
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA Premium App
Sorry, appbrain just won't work if you don't have the market installed, as AppBrain still lets the market handle all app downloads.
