[ROM] GothicKangedFroyo Based somewhat on JK2 *11/10/10*

Here it is again. The one and only GothicKangedFroyo ROM! I have implemented a couple changes from the first version of the ROM. The basics are the same, but the framework is different. The framework mods that I did are only the start of them, the more I learn about how to edit the framework the more changes I will do. I warn you I am teaching myself how to modify the framework, but don't worry the only things I will post here are going to be ones that I know will boot up when flashed and won't soft-brick your device.

How to Flash my ROM coming from Voodoo
Actually this is fairly simple, but I will explain it. Create a blank file using a text editor and titled it disable-lagfix, remember you have to have it completely blank nothing in there for this to work.
After you have finished that delete the extension from the file and place it on your internal SD Card in the folder entitled Voodoo.
Reboot Your phone, and you should hear the little voice on boot that explains that voodoo is being disabled.
After Voodoo is disabled flash away.
This ROM does not include the Overclocked Kernel, but you can easily flash it over from Eugene's thread. The purpose of this ROM was to kang different things that I liked from other ROMs so don't hate the fact that somethings are the same as other Froyo ROMs out there.
I will give credit where credit is due though, Eugene for providing an amazing base for Froyo ROM development, Cyanogen just goes without saying, GamerCore for the idea of including the MIUI Browser, and Vazguard for the Fluxed Theme. Anyone that I may of missed I am sorry, but thank you none the less.

Gothdroid got a few questions for you:
1. in both of eugenes roms and simbionix's roms i see a couple common problems people are having: gps, data, internal or sd card problems; since this is based of eugenes, are you having the same problems? anyother problems?
2. does this wipe internal sd if coming from 2.1?
3. do we flash from clockwork recovery (not odin correct)?
4. anything else we need to know about flashing this or setting it up?

I've heard people have been having problems with 4shared and their phones, I'll try to mirror it on megaupload

To download from 4shared on your phone switch the web page to classic view and make sure ROM Manager is installed.

If you have problems, open astro. Go 2 pref. is an option 2 check that says allow all downloads in browser, check that. You will then be able to download from 4shared. This looks awesome dl'ng now........ Thnc

In my beta tests of the Rom, I hadn't noticed those types of issues, has been running smoothly for me so far...
I hadn't seen any issues with data loss coming from 2.1, but that seems to happen randomly, so backup just to be safe.
And yes It's a clockwork flash.
I generally, with roms on the vibby, let it sit for about ten min after first boot without touching anything, then reboot before using.
Has run great for me so far.

I haven't noticed the blurry MMS, but then again I compiled the MMS from CM6 source, and direct download link through MegaUpload is coming as soon as its done check OP shortly

I need to address an issue here. There are people trying to install this ROM that are running into problems due to not reading the instructions carefully.
I need to say this as I dont have time to fix peoples problems due to this fact:
Please! Read! Instructions! Carefully!
Whether its the clockworkmod Recovery thread, or my ROM, PLEASE read the instructions carefully!! I have made the instructions as easy as they can possibly get, so please,, slow down,, stop even,,, read,,, re-read,,, profit!
Im not going to help people fastboot or install anything if the problem is directly related to you NOT following the instructions!!!
I dont mean to be a **** or anything, I just really dont have a lot of time these days, and stopping to answer every single PM I get about issues is very time consuming and Im not going to be answering them.
So, IF you've followed the directions CAREFULLY, and are still running into issues, please stop by #openzio on freenode, post your question and wait patiently for a response.
First and foremost: THIS IS A CRICKET ZIO ROM! It has been tested on multiple phones with 100% success rate.
It HAS NOT been tested on Sprint ZIO, but you are welcome to try (provided you have a backup image to restore).
We are NOT responsible in ANY WAY for people screwing up/bricking their phones!!
Use at YOUR OWN RISK!
****Flashing:
Backup your Current ROM with CWM.
Flash the ZIP located below with CWM to update to openZIO ROM v.2.1
-- (put ROM in the root of your SDcard, boot up CWM, choose "install zip from SDcard", then choose the ROM zip.)
(Keep in mind this WILL erase data/cache)
Once flashed, reboot.
****First Boot:
Please follow this in sequence. Failure to do so may result in app data not being applied correctly.
Once booted, go through normal first-boot programming (google sign in).
ROOT YOUR DEVICE! -- Open "Universal Androot" located in the app drawer and choose "Go Root".
INSTALL setCPU, but please DO NOT open the app after installation until you have rebooted.. >>DOWNLOAD setCPU HERE<<
Dial *228 for data programming
Once programming is done you'll have to reboot (*228 forces reboot).
Once rebooted, make sure to accept SuperUser Requests for setCPU and AutoKiller Memory Optimizer!
****SetCPU Overclocking:
I have setCPU set to a standard overclock of 650Mhz, although this kernel can safely overclock to 728Mhz.
As always, USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!
If you are concerned about increased battery drain, then you may not want to overclock.
Simply clock your speed down to 600Mhz in setCPU, and make sure the scaling governor is set to "On Demand"
(although you may want to test battery consumption with the "smartass" and "interactive" governors).
****Battery Calibration: VERY IMPORTANT!!
It would be a good idea to RECALIBRATE YOUR BATTERY after ROM installation to further increase battery performance.
Clockworkmod Recovery has a battery recalibration utility.
1. Charge your phone to 100% WITH THE POWER OFF!
2. Boot to Clockworkmod Recovery.
3. Select "Advanced"
4. Select "Wipe Battery Stats"
5. Select "Go Back"
6. Select "Reboot system now"
7. After booting up then unplug your phone
8. Use your phone like normal until it discharges completely (run the battery til it auto shuts down)
9. Charge to 100%
10. Battery is now calibrated
****Additional Customizations:
I have included the "Fluxed" ADW theme in the ROM release.
To apply, from your homescreen select:
Menu->VTL Settings
Go to "Themes Preferences"
choose "Select your theme"
choose "Fluxed ADW Theme"
Choose "Apply theme!"

First and foremost , you have to use ClockworkMod Recovery through fastboot to flash. You can't flash via ROM manager. This is the only way to flash things to the Zio at the moment . Please read the development thread for CWM and learn how to use it first before trying to flash Here is the link for EASY Fastboot ClockworkMod Recovery
Maybe drop some screenshots of the ROM in action for others to see?

An added note: Im working on a way to incorporate all the app specific settings (setcpu, autokiller, etc...) into the rom. This is all a learning process, so I will update this thread when I've found a way to do so.

Oh btw. If you are still running 1.6 please run the leaked 2.2 update from Zclusive the proceed to flash the openZIO rom.
I found this earlier after flashing my friends ZIO that still ran on donut and there was absolutely no wireless connection. Fix was to run 2.2 update then flash this rom and all was fine.

With VT launcher you can add screens by pressing the menu key and choosing edit and using the touch screen buttons to add or remove screens.

Can be downloaded via ROM Manager.
This is for the DROID X on the GINGERBREAD KERNEL.
This is MIUI 1.10.28, created from MIUI.us Defy Base merged with DX essential.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the custom bootmenu, you will not be able to get to CWM recovery through ROM Manager. The reboot menu's CWM recovery option will work perfectly though. Also, in the custom bootmenu, 2nd-boot mode doesn't work yet, but I plan to give you a boot manager type option with it, where you can swap ROMs.
How to reenable rom manager for the current session only:
In Terminal Emulator (free from the market), type:

So in order to falsh this, you HAVE to sbf back to .602? Couldn't you just install through ROM Manager?

It can be flashed over .605, but it is recommended to flash over .602.
You probably won't experience any problems if you flash it over .605.
The rom just can be flashed on anything earlier than .602.

I was on MIUI for about 2 weeks and I was having a few problems.
The lock screen would freeze half the time and I would have to lock/unlock the screen to get to my home menu.
The market would not load most of the time and I had to install apps through my PC and sending them to my Droid X.
The screen would freeze on and I would have to do a battery pull.
I flashed back to .602 and all these problems are gone.
So is anyone having problems with MIUI like I am?
I love the rom, except for these bugs.

Any one else notice the camera focus not working correctly? 10.21 miui with auto focus on and off

Absolutely not. XDA just isn't kept up to date with Droid X development.
Later on I am going to remove this outdated thread and get permissions from the developers of the updated MIUI roms to repost the builds here on XDA.

Installing The Rom
YOU MUST USE NON-TOUCH RECOVERY!! OR DELETE convertoext4.sh FROM SCRIPT FOLDER IN THE ZIP FOR TOUCH RECOVERY IN ORDER TO FLASH CORRECTLY.
-Download & Copy The .ZIP File Into Your SD.
-Restart The Device In CWM Either Through RomManager Or Power On + Down Volume Key.
-Backup Your Old Rom Just In Case(Recommended).
-At This Stage You Can Wipe Data & The Cache's If You Want For Non-Wipe Version Or Continue To Next Step For Wipe Version.
-Then Choose Install Zip from SD Card, Either Internal Or External. Wherever You Save It.

-The Script Will Then Do Everything Else You Require Be It Formating & Stuff.
-Reboot Your Phone & You Should Be good To Go.

If you have any problems please download & use the full wipe version of the rom before flashing again, some people may be fine without wiping depending on what rom you have come from but it is best to use the full wipe version of the rom. NOTE: You MUST have the latest gingerbread baseband already I was using V20F but 20P is recommended, 21E & 20G & maybe 20C will work aswell anything else will NOT work so update your baseband or you wont ever be able to use the latest release.

Well hopefully I get my one from ebay delivered tommorow :fingers-crossed: so I'll be able to test myself soon and I only just recieved the quote for my other yesterday but gotta wait till tommorow to arrange fixing it because the company is closed on weekends Oh and about ICS I really hope LG don't end up us locked down like in the current korean versions.

Doesn't boot. It just gets stuck at the LG logo screen.

Will give this a shot tomorrow and see how it goes. Currently using the p920 version. I have an upgrade Nov. 5, so this phone will soon be my new test bed!

Dear Samno is a pleasure to hear a Thrill fix for your Rom. I've tried several time to flash it and there was an issues for Bt and Wifi.

So I finally got it booting turns out to be a framework issues expect a release soon after I finish tweaking and testing tommorow. Then onto finishing a cm7 kernel, then head first into a ICS.

Don't forget about your "No idea!" kernel!

Why did development on this phone explode right when I'm about to have an upgrade? I don't know whether to use this or ICS now that the custom version is available!

Is the download down? Doesn't give the option to click for the latest rom download.

EDIT: Is it normal in V20P for the brightness settings and screen time out to be disable just reflashed kdz and its still the same I thought it was my ROM.
EDIT 2: Now wifi problems, damn. Back on hold
EDIT 3: Rebuilt from my own system dump i've just done, now on final testing.
EDIT 4: Everything seems OK to me so I'm uploading. Been at it for about five hours now almost half five in the morning here, need sleep, he he

6.New boot animation special FOR Fshami.
7.Fixed facebook i took it from alirez_sos .Thanks very much.
8.Improoved gameing preformance thanks to HTC superuser.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO INSTALL THE ROM:
You need s-off /recovery/bootloader unlocked/ and this is the guide:
1:unlock bootloader with htcdev.com or get token in this post http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/f666/tutorial-how-free-sim-unlock-htc-pico-aka-explorer-1482435/
2.root ur phone:
a:if ur os verion android 2.3.x gb download this cwm (http://www.mediafire.com/?jc78k8qe3t38yd0)
extract it connecting usb and select charging mode(usb debuggingn enable) run flash recovery.bat and witing until reboot bl and write cwm
b:if ur os verion android 4.0.x ics download this cwm
(http://www.mediafire.com/?wvzqbfqxx9404a6) extract it connecting usb and select charging mode(usb debuggingn enable) run flash recovery.bat and witing until reboot bl and write cwm
c:download this cwm-supersu.zip (http://www.mediafire.com/?6xgb8we6wqlwhxd) and copy to sd cad and reboot phone to recovery and instal cwm-supersu.zip
3:after full root(su+busybox) flahs hboot patched for s-off (not radio s-off)
download this hboot (http://www.mediafire.com/?8yunl46ocdrl37i) copy behtashm.img copy to root sd card and connecting usb and select charging mode(usb debuggingn enable)
and falow finall steep in adb command:
type :
adb shell
su
dd if=/mnt/sdcard/behtashm.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18
after install this hboot reboot to bootloader if see behtashm.img you can go to recovery and flash any rom you want

hey guys i tried to flash the rom it started I ran wizard but at the last step after i finished the Google account registering there is nothing just a black screen there is a notifications bar and it works but its a blank whats wrong ?

Guys i am just a tweaker not a rom builder i missed a step in instalaltion process i will fix this is an update for 2.0 rom and 3.0 rom so you should flash this over these tow roms according to my tester its working .STONA I AM REALLY SRY I THOUGHT YOU WERE TALKING TO ME SALIM SAID EVERY THING IS WORKIN BECAUSE HE DO NOT THINK OF THE MINOR BUGS LIKE DIALER AND TWITTER

The bug in speaker is defentanly not a Small bug, it is a big bug and is very very annoing, dont use so much time in making new build when the base still has bugs... use the time on finding the bug instead!

i talked to a pro today he told its a big deal to fix its because of baseband version or kernel he works at samsung companie he told this problem appers only when he reverts back to stock so he has a tool called samsung turbo its an ausome machine s dont get your hopes for fixing that bug .

Its a bug that should be fixed OF COURSE but dont overfocus in it... You need just one second to turn loudspeaker amd turn it off so you can hear agaim during a call...IF you had message during a call
INSTEAD Missing arrows in keyborad is something should be working on...

we have a miui build based on android 4.0.4 and i have a cm9 version build on 4.0.4 android , they dont have speaker issue, so it should be pretty simple finding the correct libs from one of them and see what is diffrendt.... current problem right now is that we cant find out where android routing audio, kernel or rom .so or .ko files when we know that it will be a pretty good start finding the bug.
So if it is baseband issue, then why does miui and cm9 works? and no it is not a cm9 lookalike, it is a real cm9 version we are working on, not releashed yet.

also u can try look in this backup : https://www.dropbox.com/s/0793dceqdiavq20/backup.7z it is sense 4.1 hboot x.25 it have working 3d without fallout and also have the stock deleting homesites as it is made in android sense 4.1... same thing as it is in sense 4.0.. use files if u want, but give credits to stona175.
