I know that there are other tutorials about this, but I was wondering if someone could post a step by step guide on how to do it.(As noob as possible please). If its possible text and video please.

just a quick question on rooting, if you have already upgraded the firmware of the dream to 1.5 before rooting is it still the same process or would it be the same process as the magic, i ask because the tut in the wiki is displaying for firmware 1.
i have the magic atm but my dad has the dream so about to root his phone
please help much appreciated

This is the developer's forum, you should ask all questions in the Q&A section...
The rooting process is the same, you have to downgrade to RC29 using the DREAIMG.nbh as stated in the tutorials.
Follow this tutorial if you have anymore questions
