Hello,
I need help downgrading from 5.08.00.04 to FRF91 Radio 4.06.00.12_7
Anyone knows where to download the link and how to flash it ?
Look at Rom threads in the development forum, they will have links to the froyo radio.
Command in fastboot is:
fastboot flash radio radiofile.img
Then reboot your phone.

Is that your baseband version from your phone? If it is, then u have the latest Radio image and SPL. To make sure, boot up in fastboot (Turn off, turn on while holding back button)
That will tell u your spl, radio and if you have a PVT device

But the radio in his site, has different baseband version, Baseband Version: 62.50S.20.17H2.22.19.26I. I notice his was H but mine U. So is this the same radio or should i flash his radio? Appreciate your advice.

I would err on the safe side and make sure to flash the H version. Might be superfluous, but at least I'll be able to flash without wondering...

A radio can refer to two things: either it is the processor/amplifier/antenna system which comprises the actual air interface side of a phone (the stuff that makes a phone a GSM phone or a UMTS phone or a CDMA2000 phone, etc). Otherwise a radio could refer to the software package that runs on the aforementioned processor. The word "baseband" is also used in a similar fashion (e.g. "baseband processor" or "baseband software")
I have a South African HTC Dream and did some research on this forum about rooting. I am more than happy with the phone's current ROM with the exception that it does not support WPA-Enterprise Wifi - in order for me to configure this, I would need to root the phone and will then be able to adjust wpa_supplicant.conf.
In all the tutorials I would have to downgrade the firmware (I have not been able to do this with any of the guides supplied - either normal RC7 downgrade, 1-click or Goldcard) in order to root the phone.
Is there any way I can root the phone without having to flash another ROM (i.e. retain the current HTC ROM and make adjustments to wpa_supplicant.conf)? Most ROMs provided are not based on HTC build, and I would loose ActiveSync. AFAIK there is no ROM available which provides ActiveSync AND HTC Mail.
My current phone info:
DREAM PVT 32B SHIP S-ON d
HBOOT-1.33.0010 (DREA20000)
CPLD-4
RADIO-3.22.20.17
Jun 2 2009,21:33:16
Firmware: 1.5
Baseband: 62.525.20.18U_3.22.20.17
Kernel: 2.6.27-9af60ed4 [email protected]
Build: 1.87.421.1 146733 CL#47295 release-keys

There are HTC based ROMs. The ROM from the Rogers Dream has exchange support, but before you flash the ROM you must flash the new radio then the SPL.

Thanks - I replaced my phone with another one (FW 1.1) and was able to flash. I installed Touchdown to overcome the Exchange problems - not ideal, but best choice now.

You're on 1.1?! I would strongly recommend flashing a Cyanogen ROM to get you back to 1.5.
I did update to latest Cyanogen rom. One question: I rooted the phone and am on latest Cyanogen. Only (minor) issue I have is that before the Cyanogen splash-screen comes on, I still see my mobile providers boot-logo (for about 10 seconds until the splash screen comes) - is there any way to change this?
I tried fastboot flash splash1, but get an error. As part of my rooting I did not flash SPL (i.e. HardSPL) but have cm-recovery - should I update SPL and if so which one (also, what is the risk of bricking?).
If replace SPL, do I need to update the radio again or reflesh Cyanogen?
As far as I know you wouldn't need to flash either again, HardSPL is known to be safe on all phones I believe. The only problems I've heard are with Haykuro's SPL. If you haven't flashed a new SPL that could be the issue, what is the error your getting when trying to change the splash?

It should be safe as long as it doesn't not require a specific radio. I have never heard of the radio version you have, but that's probably because you don't have a t-mobile G1. What carrier is it on? If it's unlocked, what was the original carrier? (the ones displayed on the boot screen).
I think Josh is right that it's safe for all Dream's, so you probably could go ahead and flash it, I'm not 100% sure. Just a quick not about flash SPL's and radios on cm-recovery, you have to physically press alt-s then home+back to reboot. Don't touch the trackball. That's only for SPLs and radios.
The hard spl is great, but if u want to run hero u will nees to flash haykuros spl. If u do flash haykuros spl make sure u flash the new radio image FIRST! OR U WILL BRICK! Have fun flashing away
Thanks. I applied SPL from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=548924
And then fastboot worked: /fastboot-mac flash splash1 DOWNGRADE-SD/Boot_images/android.rgb565
Upgraded to latest Cyanogen 4.0.4 and have now an awesome phone - thanks to everyone for the help on this forum!

I had flashed ota-radio-2_22_19_26I (not sure what it was before). I did roughly document my steps on my blog if you are interested.

thanks. after seeing the radio you said you originally had in the first post i remembered that rogers has a radio that starts with a 3(then i searched and they are the same radio), then when i tried to download the root rogers package from that thread it kept timing out the download, so i was just curious as to radio you used. according to all the rogers root thread you have to flash the 1.33.2005 spl first before you can actually root, so basically i was trying to figure out if devices with that radio are immune to the bricking without 2.22.19.26I radio.
I'm on Froyo but i want to gom back to cm 5.0.7.
I have a little problem :s
How i change my radio?
Get the EPE54B radio and reboot into fastboot and flash the radio...
> fastboot flash radio RadioImage.img
Please note that if you are going to go to another radio, you should downgrade from froyo as well, as there is only one radio that is compatible with froyo right now (from what I have heard).

Hello everybody,
I just have some requests from members in a french forum. Some of them tried to update their HTC Dream Rogers with EBI1 and radio 3.x with the new Kernel 2708... Of course, they bricked their devices.
Is there any way to unbrick the device with softwares?
Is the JTAG the only way to do that?
If French jtag-unbrickers read this, contact me!
Thank You.

Um.. why is it "of course" the 2708+ radios/spls work perfectly on rogers dreams.. You just need to root with the rogers e911 dream rooting procedure (that will install 1.33.2005 SPL + keep the 3.22 radio) then us the fastboot instructions to install the radio SPL.
If they have the wrong recovery the worse that is needed is to flash the orange SPL and try again. (making sure its the ebi0 recovery you flash via fastboot with the new radio/spl)
This is of course only true if you follow my fastboot instructions.. if you follow one of the recovery update instructions you will brick with the only solution being a JTAG hack if you had an ebi1 recovery (-R recovery) and 3.22 radio and flashed via recovery the 2.22 radio. (1.33.0013d actually works on the 3.22 radio .. just not with the extra ram)
Thank for your quick answer. I am going to forward your solution and see if this can help!
Thank you.
Just one more question, the e911 dream rooting procedure, is this that post :

Build Number - kila-user 1.0 TC4-RC29 115247 ota-relkeys,release-keys
After rooting my i tried fastbooting by holding camera and all i can i see is
HSPL10.95.3000
CPLD-4
RADIO-1.22.12.29
then below it is Seria10
Please I want to install Gingerbread and am having difficulty finding my way from here. I need help urgently.. Thanks
sounds like all you did was downgrade your phone, you still need to flash a custom recovery via telnet, then update radio then spl. if you want gingerbread then you will have to update your radio and spl one more time
google search "cyanogen g1 root wiki" follow the steps after downgrade (radio and danger spl, no need to flash a rom yet)
then dearch the developers section for ezterrys thread on the 2708+ update, here you will upgrade radio and spl one more time
now find the gingerbread rom you want
flash it from recovery
be very careful to read through and understand what you are doing, a brick is easy if your careless when flashing firmware

For easier installation of recovery ,just download ROM MANAGER from googleplay ,end via instal clockwork recovery or for best work RA recovery .
Then you can easily change radio and SPL via recovery ,and instal cyanogen rom ,or or whatever you want.
!!!Just be very careful when changing radio end SPL ,read what first must flashing radio or SPL !!!
One mistake end you phone is bricked!
Sory for my bad englich, and hapy flashing:good:

Thanks so much..am on it.. i went through a post about adb fastbooting process downloaded the files etc using the cmd commands given to me.. I hope am on the right part.
I did the custom flash recovery via telnet immediately i downgraded my G1. should i do it again before updating the radio and spl?
If you have amonra now (or clockwork recovery) then you don't need to reflash it. Just boot I to recovery (hold home while powering on) from here is where you will be changing you radio and SPL
