Well, I've been using customised ROM here on my Tattoo for almost a month.
No doubt I am not the only person who noticed that the signal indicator in baked ROM can only show 3G whereas the Sense UI ROM can have 3G and HSDPA.
Does it mean that these baked ROMs can not establish HSDPA connection ? Does 3rd ROM have relatively poor signal than HTC one?
The answer is NO, at least according my test:

In system status it clearly says HSDPA whereas it is 3G icon on notification area. So perhaps it's just because that H icon was reserved to HTC. Myth broke!
In other words, no signal issue with baked ROM at all! ;-)

looking for a way to boost my signal becuase i only have 1 bar an my signal is to low for me to even use the web on my phone.
If it’s a Kaiser, try turning 3g off with one of the many com managers about. It worked for me.
Or move to an area with better coverage?
Hi,I have Cyanogenmod 11 with the 26th nightly, I have ONO as my telephone company and sometimes I get DC instead of 3G in the notification bar and the internet doesn't work until I get 3G in the notifications.

Are you having those problems after installing CM? I'm having that problem on any rom.
I have changed to the AOSP and it is solved now.
Does anyone know why my signal status icon is greyed out when wifi is connected instead of just disappearing? I've got a Rogers XT1058 and when I'm running the Rogers OTA it doesn't happen. But every time I try to flash anything else, I get the greyed out icon. Is this the way it looks for everyone else? Here's what I'm talking about:

Anyone? Just want to know if this is what everyone else is seeing. On every other ROM, phone, etc I've ever used the signal type icon goes away when WiFi is connected.

Sometimes (mostly in the morning when I have a first look at my phone) the is a pictogram in the right top of my phone. A telephone, a 'one' and something else but I don't know what this pictogram means. After a little while it disappears, and in the meantime there is no malfunction. Could not find any explanation on the www. Any ideas?

It means LTE on 4G network, should be better, but i'm not sure, I think I get disconnected much more than I used to.
Seems like VoWiFi icon. I haven't seen it or used VoWiFi, so I can't be sure, but that icon does look like phone with a WiFi.

I am using Sony XZ3 for around 15 months on O2 UK.
For last 4-5 months I am struggling to get good network reception. Changed sim card as well but no luck. I put my sim in my old HTC phone and not had any issues for 2 weeks. What is possibly wrong with the phone or network?
Screen shots attached via Net Monitor Lite app. Why it shows WCDMA connection on LTE or GSM sim?
