what should i get next?

Hi all,
I have this bad habit of trying out latest gadgets.......
i never had a single phone for more than 2 months...i easily get bored
till now i had many phones.......
iphone...HTC (diamond, HD, HD2, G1, Magic, Nexus one)..plam pre, sony ericsson (satio, Xperia x10).. Palm pre....samsung (some stupid phone) .....Motorola milestone..nokia N97..some other small phones (all in just 1 year )
now i am bored with nexus and xperia and want to try something exciting...but all exciting phones like HTC evo 4g and droidx are only available in US and also CDMA...
samsung bada is not so exciting (No apps )
please suggest something exciting phone i can get in germany......

Try that new watch phone that LG came out with. It looks pretty cool, reminds me of James Bond

Get the GSM version of the droid x. It's the milestone xt722 or something but it has a 8 mp camera with a xenon flash and a keyboard along with a front facing camera. I would've got it before my Nexus, but it's got Motoblur and it's Motorola....

How about the Samsung galaxy s? Too bad it's very familiar with the iphone design...

motorola is the worst company i would i ever go for...they are against openeness and they can't fulfill my rom flashing addiction....

My brother has the N900, it's a pretty cool phone and the OS is sleek. Havent really played a lot with it.

Idk about a dell streak... It's not really portable. It's meant to be a tablet with phone capabilities. You can tell by the way the capacitive buttons are turned 90 degrees so when it's on a table you see them correctly . But still... a 5 inch screen on a phone is just way to big.

Stick with HTC and XDA on what ever you get!

most of the other phones Alex530 has mentioned are not available in Germany and they are not GSM too....

have 2 cars....2 bikes (one in that is Yamaha R15 ..the R-DNA bike)....recently got PS3 250GB, 42inch LCD TV..........and girls....my wife will kill me (typical Indian women style)

This somewhat makes me regret getting a Nook two months ago, since someone will definitly port Android to it.
Its too bad, webOS had major potential. Hope this gets more people aware of it and makes HP change their minds about the thing or decide to at least licence the OS.

im probably gonna get atleast a 16gb one i kinda miss webos from my old pre when it was released on sprint had fun with preware.

theres no information about past 8/22 but for 149$ its very very tempting, i think if somebody does port android to it then it can be a savior for HP, heck, they should put android on it and sell it for 299$

walked into BestBuy paid $399 for 16GB, assured that 100% refund 30 days or full price-match 14 days (knowing possibly/likely $99 tomorrow).
checked it out in store, will never replace NC, TouchPad screen inferior, but irresistible $99 to try out 1.2Ghz dual-core Scorpion / Adreno 220 GPU / 10" IPS.
EDIT: will update with efforts at price-match tomorrow (08/20/2011).
2nd EDIT: bummer, went back today and BestBuy wouldn't price-match, had to return it.

Besides, the dirt cheap price and the very decent hardware make it hardware that's going to sell out its inventory fast. And those who own them are going to want a modern, up to date OS once HP officially pulls the plug on the software side of things.

I was just curious of what discounts and perks the employees receive.

I remember talking to one of the guys at a T-Mobile store a while back and I think he said that you get to buy a phone at the upgrade price every 6 months or something. I don't quite remember though, I may be Wrong.

Word to the wise, don't advertise much you're a tmo employee here or other blog sites, they don't like it, it's how I lost my job (last year, I have a much better one now)
But, since you asked, if you were hired direct to the company (not sine 3rd party wireless affiliate), last I checked, it was 2000 minutes, unlimited text for $10, unlimited data is an extra $5.
You get a 40% discount on the wholesale price of the device of your liking, but only for the first 2 lines. All additional lines are full price. You can have up to 6 lines (last I was there) with the criteria I listed above.
After 2 years, your 3rd and 4th year discount increase to 65%, and 5th year and higher, any device you want is free (but you have to pay outrageous taxes on the hardware)
They're a good company to work for, so long as you're in a position you like, and while they remain around).

when i was there they didnt give you an option to break up payments, it was just billed to your account within 1 to 2 months

Damn, i accidentally dropped on to the tile floor and landed on the corner... R.I.P. (2012-2013) my trusty N7. Now i am facing a new problem: a new tablet. I am tempted to buy an ipad as it may partially replace my laptop on certain school days. however the 32gb grouper is only $250 here, also a good buy. what should i do?

yeah, but it is much harder to obtain a n10 here in aus than say America. so i decided that i am going to get an ipad, and i did. not to worry guys, my brother who lives with me still actively uses his grouper (a lot) so i an still gonna be around for the next few months thanks for the sympathy and i do appreciate that a lot. fingers crossed for your beloved n7. may the case be with you (if you catch what i mean).

Because apple is better. NO. Because here in Australia good android tablets are as hard to find as it is easy to find iPads. There really aren't many choices things like n10 is just to complicated to obtain. That's why, if I am given a CHOICE, I will choose android every time, but here there isn't any choices.

Which iPad? The 4 is hardly a bad tablet-- I was thinking of trading in my iPad 3 (the performance bump from the 3 to the 4 is really quite nice), but ultimately didn't have time to go in today and the promotion is over. Honestly, I like it more than any of my Android tablets because the thing is rock solid no matter what, but I do a lot of my tinkering on my Android tabs so it's at least partially my fault.

I would wait and acquire the nexus 7 second generation.

I believe this is an in-store price because it is more online. This is supposed to be an excellent controller for use with the GVR. It's normally $59.99. Not all stores carry this so check online before venturing out. Here's the SKU: 1883244.

Yeah it did. They have changed that lately. You may have to re-enter the zip code again manually.

Called my Best Buy and they said it's been discontinued so it can only be bought in store. Bummer

They usually have a small hook of them by the phone cases and an end display between console games and computer accessories, depending on store layout. Your best bet would be to go for the Power Pro (same generation, but "premium") on Amazon or somewhere that has it discounted. It is far more comfortable and still fits into the Gear VR bag by propping it in the area meant for the Sammy one.

They are $36.99 and it is the Moga Hero, so chances are they will not price match based on a rumor. Usually discontinued items are marked or regular price on the site, not on sale.
The Hero line is known for being problematic. They do some interesting things with the buttons, such as sending out buffer codes. It is not something you may see as an end user, so long as the apps you use it with have accounted for use with the Hero.
If the controller didn't work for you, that may work to your advantage. Before returning it, it is a good idea to contact Moga. Moga doesn't do recalls, they discontinue the controller and then do warranty replacements for a similar item. They have done the same thing with their console controllers and you can buy a $30 PS3 controller and with one phone call a week or so of waiting, come out with a $60 Xbox controller.
My thoughts on the Hero are not based on experience with the Gear VR specifically, they are based on experience with designing the controller interface for an emulator. Moga releases a general plug-in for Unity, so chances are using it with the Gear VR exclusively will never present the issues. The plugin for Android as a whole requires you design a separate interface just for the Hero, which unless you use their SDK, is when you begin to notice the eccentricities.

You're better off waiting for a sale on the Power Pro or praying it's broken out of the box. Moga tends to cut all ties to discontinued hardware, but their warranty repair is to replace it with a current model.

Mine works fine and for $24 is a steal. I really can't be worried about "continued support". I mean, it's a controller - how much support does it need? You turn it on, you press the buttons, boom boom. Don't think I'll be calling support for a walk-through. *SMH*

The problem with "waiting on a Pro version sale" is waiting on a Pro version sale. Are you willing to wait months (if ever) just to save a few bucks on a controller? Kind of ridiculous plan assuming you actually want a controller anytime soon.

I prefer not to run out and buy something because I saw one thread about it on xda. That is how you end up with $200 in hardware that you have to post all over xda bashing. It is better to be absolutely sure it is the device you want, not just the one that was on sale. Whether or not you want to be impatient is your discretion. I am only providing the info I found through a lot of research before I bought the Moga Power Pro that has stuck with me through three devices.
