My Girls contract is up Oct. 1st and she has T-Mobile so I'm going to make her get the G1 for me...hopefully someone will be able to unlock it so I can use my AT&T account on it

If my AT&T contract didn't go on for another 18 months, I'd so buy it. Instead I might wait around on the Android phone for AT&T, if there ever is one.

For Those Wanting to Take the G1 to at&t...
The phone will not work on at&t 3G.
According to the specs listed on HTC's web site (http://www.htc.com/us/product/g1/specification.html), HS/WCDMA is available on 2100 MHz in Europe and 1700 / 2100 MHz in the US. T-Mobile uses 1700 / 2100 MHz while at&t uses 850 and 1900 MHz.
If you try to take this phone over to at&t (apart from the hassle of trying to get it unlocked), the best that it will operate at is GSM/EDGE, i.e. 2G.

Is it true there is a 1gb cap limit? If it is, it's freaking ridiculous for a phone they are trying to push as a secondary computer. Some awesome features, but hopefully they will increase the cap on it.

If I look at the pictures it looks like a piece of plastic crap ....sorry to say but expected much more out of it...They should have done a stunning phone design with there android os....Hope android itself is preforming...the phone can be replaced

The phone is quite ugly, let´s hope Android can be installed on other HTC devices soon.

After 1GB in a month they limit your speeds "to 50kb/s or less". Like how AT&T's "unlimited" data is really only 5GB, and they start charging after that? T-Mobile decided to just cut the data transfer speed after 1GB. Technically, it's not a cap, your phone can still use data for things you NEED to get done... but at 50 kb/s, forget about downloading files.

I just cancelled my order for the 8GB and bought the 16GB from JR.com. Since I live in NY (damn you tax!) it came out to around $254, but that's still a really good price.
I've only dealt with JR the brick and mortar store in NYC and they seemed pretty good. Like your typical Nobody Beats the Wiz and PC Richards and Sons with a bigger music section. It is I ordered my laptop from them about 1 year ago I got it within 1 week and everything was good

JR 250 -discount = $234
So that is $50, but if it does not have the $25 play store deal, then is $25 better... then again it's going to be shipped to NY then back to CA..
As long as I get it about the same time it's a good deal.

Also got it before it disappear, hopefully it went through

Google didn't even know JR.com was selling them or at least the google rep on the phone didn't when I canceled my preorder from the play store.

Well that figures, I have read about this upcoming 32 Gig version, I have the 16 Gig version from Staples that is just past their 15 day return period. I am not sure I would take mine back since my 16 Gig is flawless no screen lift, dead pixels or washed out colors. maybe I will just buy a 32 Gig version as well and if it is perfect may just sell the 16 or give it as a gift to my kid.

Ahh in the `less dense' parts.. I usually a avoid Route 70 like the plague as it's the WORST road during rush hour but for a 32GB Nexus 7... Yeah I didn't mind so much. :laugh:

Hmm... did you have any problems restoring from backup or installing your favorite ROM? Both are boot hanging for me. Weird.

Congrats! and BTW, when you returned the 16, did it show up on the register as $199 or $249? I'm trying to think if I can get Walmart to do a price adjustment.. if it's marked down to $199 already.

Some weird issues initially, then it was only showing 6GB free. So, I did a Fastboot -w update of the 4.1.2 factory image to make sure the filesystem and bootloader were all up to spec, let it boot up to do its thing then rebooted to bootloader, fastbooted over TWRP and installed my rom and gapps.. All is good and setting up AOKP 4.1.2 test as we speak. I didn't do a restore of my old system as I didn't even bother saving anything.. Starting from scratch.

Even though I got my 16 on launch weekend I still feel jipped. Oh well

lol. i hate cali right now. i've called every staples/gamestop/walmart/office depot within 100 miles of me. nada
i finally called staples head quarters and asked them to help me locate one. they said the stores are barely getting them and are not supposed to start selling them until the 26th.
i just got my 16gb rma yesterday and should be happy with no screen lift/flicker but damn, this got my adrenaline pumpin again. i feel like its release day all over again

Either the Staples rep you talked to is misinformed, or the store employees were never informed.. Either way sounds like Staples upper management has some communication issues they should work out at the next company meeting. :laugh: Looking around I saw sales a receipt posted from Florida too.

There was someone who posted on androidcenteral some internal staples endcaps sales info, it looks like if the stores have the 32gb in stock it was ok to sell them. I got my without any problems, the sku numbers and price was already in the system. They rang me up without any problems. I think the good deal to come will be the 8gb ones they will put on clearance the day after Google's press conference. perhaps 99 bucks? That's low enough for me to get it for my kids instead of a psp or a 3ds or some other useless game system...

It's a nice idea. I like it very much.

This is crap! Another excuse by OnePlus to do virtually nothing and charge you more money. It's no wonder you can find this phone on sale ($416.00 at Gearbest with OP5SAVER code). From the 3->3T->5, improvements have been minimal turning Never Settle into Always Settle.

I ordered a grey OP5 just before the hype of the announcement (still waiting for it to be delivered), but I quite like the new coloured button design. I'n not too sure about the back, but then I always use a case anyway.

OnePlus (More likely Carl Pei) really are becoming far too pretentious, you're a small company not a niche company. Stick to what's important and stop getting sidetracked with pointless attention seeking ventures.

You weren't relading the pre-release announcements very closely then. A OnePlus 5T wouldn't be limited edition, would it? The speculation from tech writers was not only 100% that it would be something like this but the specific company OnePlus was in partnership with was known weeks ago.

5T? For what?
OP5 is about 3 months old and already has 2 months old security patch on OOS. They would support 2 flagships even more slowly. I can see a lot of potential in this phone, so I hope Oneplus is smart enough to focus on this one atm.

I suggest then you ask yourself, "Why are they willing to charge Europeans so much more?" Go to the bottom of the page and select USD for currency and you will see the price difference. If the US version supports your bands used in Europe, I would convert some € to $ and buy the US version. That is if you still want to do business with them.
