Hello to all,
before u start saying to search the forum, i did. But havent find solution for my problem so i opened a new thread.
So the problem is that my tytn register some sim cards but some dont, its like a random thing. My old sim card and new one works, now i tried with new sim card but from a nother network, and it says no sim, i try with my old sim from the same network and it works. I tested with about 10 random sim cards and 6 out of 10 works, no matter how old they are and from what network they are. I flashed my phone, tried new roms, cleaned sim card slot, but nothing worked.
If u can help me, i will be verry grateful
P.S: Sorry for my bad english
out of the 10 sims, 6 work...correct? lets call the sims that work numbers "1 through 6" and lets call the sims that don't work numbers "7 through 10".
i would say it is a hardware problem IF AND ONLY IF even one of "1 through 6" STOP working or if even one of "7 through 10" START working.
in other words, it is NOT a hardware problem if "1 through 6" work consistently and "7 through 10" fail consistently.
if you determine that it is a hardware problem, then try inserting a piece of paper behind the sim for an extra tight connection or search for bad/loose "main flex cable" and/or "sim assembly".
if you determine that it is not a hardware problem, search about possible known incompatibilities of the kaiser with certain networks' sim cards.
Thanks for advice...i fixed the problem by bending the metal that holds sim card.
But i still dont get it how that fixed things cause sim cards one that worked they worked every time and othet way around with non working sim cards...but ok... now they all work...
nice to hear your problem is solved!
i believe the sim cards that didn't work were probably just "thinner" than the ones that worked. so bending the metal pushes the thin sim cards tighter against the connectors. inserting a piece of paper behind the sim card has the same effect, and it is one of the first suggestions you will read about in most threads about sim card problems.
anyway, congratulations, and its nice to see that you updated your thread with information that helps "close" the issue...perhaps you can change the title of this thread to indicate that the issue was "SOLVED" so that future readers can benefit from it.

Okey, here is a stange problem!
I purchased a used Tytn II today, and everything seems to work fine! BUT there is a BIG BUT, every time I restart my device it says that the sim card is missing even tough it is in fact in the device, then I have to take the card out reset the device shut it off again and insert the sim card!
Sometime it works and sometimes I have to repeat that procedure several times before it realises that there is a sim card!
Is someone else having this problem, and if yes how do you go around fixing this?
Or is my device simply broke?
Thanks in advance!
I posted this a couple of months ago - works for me
"Happened to me when I got a T-Mobile PAYG SIM last week to trial for data coverage.
Popped SIM in and worked well.
I then tried a Vodafone Sim and that was ok.
When I put the T-Mobile SIM back in - I got the message "no SIM found"
Tried Orange and Vodafone and they both gave the same message !
I was not convinced the SIM'S were making good contact - there seemed too much movement under the flimsy metal crossbar.
The solution to get the T-Mobile and other SIM's working was to insert a small piece of paper on top the SIM as you slide it under the metal crossbar.
This puts a little bit of extra padding on top of the SIM to help make decent contact.
I suppose the paper could be put on top of the crossbar instead to achieve the same effect but have not tried this.

Also make sure the sim is clean - use a pencil eraser is one suggestion.
So far so good!

Okey, I tried to put some paper between and so far it works!
The strange thing is that I did not even try to replace the card, I just rebooted the device and the sim card was missing!
Cant figure that out!
Hi there,
I just wanted to stop in and say thank you! I have been beating my head against the wall for the past two weeks over why my Tilt kept losing its network connections in perfect conditions and constantly telling me the SIM card was missing. Reseating it only worked once in a great while, but slipping a piece of paper in there seems to have done the trick nicely. I did notice that the contacts on the Tilt dig grooves into the SIM card contacts - do you think perhaps this is the problem or is this common among cell phones?
Thanks Bigdish, worked for me too.
thanks a lot for the information, putting a paper on the SIM resolved the issue in my tytn II, I was so nervous when I saw sim not found in my phone and tried to do reset several times and also repeated the ROM upgrade several times and finally a piece of paper served the purpose thanks....
Can't figure out why. It's unlocked and I just took it back to factory settings.
For some reason it just stopped recognizing my SIM. Anything I can try? I would hate to assume it's broken.
Assuming you've searched the forum...
does the sim work on other phones? does another sim work in your kaiser or it doesn't recognize ANY sim?
have you tried cleaning the sim bay? (i dunno whats the recommended way to clean that area or even if cleaning it will make any difference)
and one more time...search this forum...i remember seeing quite a few threads about sims not getting recognized all of a sudden
My SIM works in other phones, but nothing works in this one.
I did search, but only found issues with the phone not reading it after flashing to a cooked ROM, not official ones. It didn't recognize it before or after I flashed to back to factory.
** I saw where apparently tmobile sims require a little more pressure, but that hasn't worked.
I've tried three different SIMS, one on tmo and one on att
So no one else?
similar issue !!
similar issue with gene(HTC 3400i)....
sending it for a replace tomorrow, but i will be thankful if somebody can advise a solution for this issue.
Have a look at this thread for a few ideas:

ideas
try cleaning your sim card with medical alcohol it help in some cases
ask for sim replacement from your network provided (from experience and reading - kiaser is very sensitive to sims)
Someone posted about this last month and his solution solved my problem.
Slide a piece of paper between the top of the SIM card and the top metal clip to push it down harder onto the contacts.
In my case some SIMs would not work, but this has cured it.
Tilt was previously working. Now shows "No SIM" on screen when any SIM is inserted.
Any idea what the issue might be?
I am not the current owner of the tilt, nor do I have access to it to test anything, so that is basically everything I know about it.
What is your best guess?
Thanks
is it your phone or is it a phone you got of e-bay.
If of e-bay it may be that yur IMEI is barred.

Ebay.
Well if that is that case great, because my carrier does not ban IMEIs, so it will work perfectly for me.
Is that really the message you would get if your IMEI was dissabled though? That doesn't really make sense, as it would see the SIM and you would see it say: Searching for network... Registering... and then it might say no SIM, but it says no SIM right away, so that can't really be it.
Any other ideas?
this is usualy a bad sim card..
usualy either a worn card.. or possibly an issue on the att side with your sim number
if you frequent any core att stores you might could get a free one..
I stopped bidding for it on eBay, cuz I don't feel like taking the risk.
It sold for $127.50
Sounds silly, i know, but i had the same a while ago, found the sim goes in and locks shut back to front the contact part going in last, just maybe this simple
I had a similar problem with my new Tytn II. Only 3 days old and after I took out and reinserted SIM, I got the "No SIM" message, same problem with another SIM card as well.
Just as I was ready to return the device, after a final test with my SIM card, it decided to work. I have not taken out the SIM since and this problem hasn't shown up.
There have been a couple of threads on this problem.
It would seem that the design of the SIM connector is not all that it should be.
My main SIM sometimes wouldn't connect and another couple of SIMs would not connect at all.
A piece of paper, folded if necessary, inserted between the SIM card and the metal clip to increase the contact pressure has completely fixed the problem on mine, but apparently it has not worked for everyone.
i have a problem with my diamond. It only reads my sim card, wont read any other sim card that is inserted. It was originally using XOR morna rom, done a new flash and still same problem. Re-flashed with a original HTC rom, but still same problem. I some how think its not a software problem as it has been flashed/hard-reset numerous times.
Any one know what problem can be or if anyone has same problem, with solution
thanks
kerim
Mmmm...
When you say it only reads 'your' SIM card, do you mean it's SIM locked. If you're on vodafone for instance, and you put another vodafone SIM in, does it recognise that? Or do you mean it won't allow any other SIM at all... even if the network's the same?
If it's the first option, your device is obviously SIM locked, if it's the second option, have you installed any security software like Ultimate Theft Alert, or similar, which will also block any other SIMs??
its not sim locked, it was an unbranded phone when i first got it. I am on three and have tried 3 different other three sim cards and also a vodaphone simcard, non of them work.
Its like there is no sim card at all. Im starting to thinbk its a hardware problem not software as i have flashed it few times now with different roms
any ideas, i need to get this working urgently
Mmmm...
Definitely sounds like a hardware issue to me. It's probably time to send it away
Hey Kerm when you put the sim cards does it ask you for for the pin??? or what you could do is see if you can try to clean the sim contact in your phone or run a eraser over the sim card contact and see if there is a difference
had a problem with an unreadable sim-card a few months ago as well; A new sim-card solved my problem... But since you are having trouble with 3 different cards, it might be a hardware problem in your case indeed.
doesnt ask for any pins, as soon as the phone starts up with another sim card inserted, it says no sim card. When it starts up with mu simcard inserted, phone function runs as normal, i can see reception bars etc
I had the same problem when i received my diamond. Tried several sim cards but none was recognized.
I received a new phone because it was a hardware failure.
Sounds like mu has a way of making a new kinda sim lock that only works with there phones ,I would digg a lil deeper and make sure its not a sim lock on your phone
what do you mean by MU, couldnt make it out. How can i find out about if its been sim locked
My devices sometimes cannot read the sim card, and some times it can. No matter what sim I use, what ROM I use, and I've even tried another sim card reader, but the problem seem to be something else.
Anyone experienced this?
I've been looking for a way to emulate a sim card, like a soft sim solution, but it seem this is not easy..
Maybe it's time to let the old m7 retire...
Anyway, thanks to all contributors in this community, it's been awesome. Merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Maybe the sim card isn't making a good contact when inserted in the tray, A few ppl got a similar issue and used paper to shim the sim card (not recommended since your sim tray can get stuck). I would try another sim first...

Yes, that's a common issue. The first steps was to use a little tape on the sim, second step was to try another sim, third step was to open the device and take out the sim reader, clean it with ethanol, check every pin and so on, then I tried another sim reader, but the problem still remains.
I too have the same problem, of signal on and off. I think the device detected the SIM card as it asked for PIN to unlock. I tried the *#*#4636#*#* to choose WCDMA only / preferred, but still same problem. So, did you retire the beautiful phone of yours?

Since not even replacing the sim reader solved the problem, it can no longer be used as a phone.
And anyway, the battery is getting seriously old, so when my dogs destroyed my remote control, the good old HTC one m7 now have a new life, filled with joy and happiness.
Anymote app is nice, and m7 are now a media control hub in my living room.
Since April 29 2013 this device have improved my life quality, with the good help from this great community on XDA.
