Mixzing only one with an audio EQ. Thus my player of choice.
Mixzing is good!! Its growing on me, but i have to admit the EQ isnt that great needs a bit more work
If you want more opinions there's a thread about this topic in the general android software forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=733651
I was also trying to decide on a player. Ultimately I chose the paid version of mixzing.
I like bTunes because I can create a current play list and/or playlists for later.. I didn't see any others which seemed to do this.
But the iPony interface has GOT TO DIE. I hate it.
Truthfully, this list to vote on is quite limited. There's just so many.
I've looked at winamp, cubed, ttpad, google music builtin, player pro, amp and a few random others.
Of the list above I haven't found one I love yet and havent tried many of what the OP posted.
TTpad is not good at all, it boggles my mind why people keep +1 ing it all over the place? For bleeps sake, at least make it multilingual so us purely english speakers and readers dont have to deal with script which means nothing to us.
Google music is decent and free. It needs a home screen, album art, lyrics. Player Pro has it. This thread has inspired me to try mixzing (but its UI artwork didnt grab me). I'll post back with a real vote.
Edit: I went to play store to try mixzing, noted it wants permissions to read personal data and log files? Screw off. This is unnecessary. I'm not trying it.
personnaly i dont care about permission...
And i use Poweramp. great music player you xan add themes

I understand many people don't.. but you should! If I could make one change in the smart phone community today, this would be it!!!
Do you walk around with your credit card number taped to your back and magnified with the CVV code there for convenience? Do you videotape your intimate relations and play them at work or school publicly? Do you enjoy telemarketers calling you at any hour and automated systems trying to sell you stuff that oddly relates to a web search you placed a few days earlier? Does your family & friends enjoy getting these annoying calls when their cell phone # has been learned from your compromised phone?
Clearly I am exaggerating, but not as much as you may think. This is quite a realistic relationship. You should care.

Yeah, you can chop, sample, mix, effects, and just about anything else you can do with a full sized drum machine. I know this is an extremely complex app, so chances are, we're SOL. but here's to wishful thinkin!!!
Yes this could be good, plug your TP into a mixer, brings a whole new capability to the device.
I also think though, that to port such an app would be an enormous task.
+1 on wishful thinking
Close thread
I think it's safe to say we can go ahead & close this thread. It's not getting too much interest, so i'm assuming it's either damn near impossible to port, or none of the dev's are really willing to give it a shot. Hopefully someone will drop a similar program from WM.
can somebody please port this i need this in my life.

no my friend... while these are all nice apps, they are NOT beat maker. None of the afore mentioned apps have a full functioning drum machine built into it. Not to mention, NONE of the apps allow for 3rd party plug-ins like Pro-Tools export, rewire, t-racks, etc. Beat Maker is the real deal. I'm seriously debating buying a iTouch SIMPLY for this app!!
Maybe you should contact the maker of the App and see if he would port it himself. Maybe he's already making a WM version to sell on the Windows Marketplace.
For the record, I would also be willing to pay to get a port of this app.

damn, why on EARTH didn't i think of this myself?! i might have to look into this.
i have this app "phoenix Studios" and i love it but its not vga and i stop using it because i didnt have enought memory to keep it going on my old ppc6700.
i almost got an iphone just to get that drum machine apps.
Wouldn't the fact that Raphaels do not have a capacitive touchscreen really hinder this Apps original functionality/awesomeness?
Our touch screens are resistive, and are thus incapable of multitouch like an iphone or g1 for example. (I have seen a demo of multitouch on a supposedly resistive screen around on the nets, but never seen a resistive device with multitouch capabilities released) http://www.engadget.com/2009/02/19/stantums-mind-blowing-multitouch-interface-on-video/ here's the vid
Just a thought, hope your dreams aren't too dashed.
no need to multitap and such.. we just gotta contact the maker of beatmaker and see if hes brewing a version for WM6.1 platforms!
so is this thing ported yet?
Omniano the Band, is the closest thing to date. The other would be Little Snazzy Drummer, which has a free Lite version as well as a paid version. Neither of these are quite as complex as the app. you mentioned, though I find them both very usable and entertaining.

not exactly sure what you mean by that, but the doubletwist music player is pretty sweet. You can download the program on your computer, its like a zune/itunes type thing. The best part is it allows you to wirelessly sync your music from computer to captivate over wifi.

I lol'd so hard I almost had soda coming out my nose.
There is a WP7 launcher in the market, and a zune home app. The WP7 launcher us free, zune home pretty cheap. But neither of them handle music, just home screens. So you can have a taste of Zune.
Now the really important question: will the captivate ever get a WP7 port? That would be sweet.

Zune style music player (proof of concept)
I made a zune/wp7 music player app in appinventor as a proof-of-concept. Is it what you were thinking of? P.s. its not great, and theres better projects of this type of app coming from other devs soon, but its just a concept in appinventor

I have Double Twist and also the latest version of Google music that came out 05/10/2011...

PowerAMP is badass.
I personally swear by PlayerPro. It's the only player I've come across that allows you to skip tracks using your volume buttons while on the lockscreen. This means you can control your music without ever taking the phone out of your pocket. I tried PowerAmp as well as it's a pretty popular player, but I don't think PowerAmp has anything that PlayerPro can't match, if not outdo.
PowerAmp can skip tracks using the inline button. Very handy.
Im pretty sure the shuffle on poweramp is a bit dodgy though. It seems to take a random 10 or so songs and shuffle it that way. Makes repeating songs quite often imo. Plus poweramp tends to eat up more battery for some reason.
Ive been using winamp atm.
Google Music 3 and TTPOD 2, i think both are best combination
I'd say Rockbox is the most powerful. It's a port of the popular open source firmware for many digital portable players. Supports a huge number of codecs, replaygain, powerful playlist features, and many advanced features for you to explore. Its UI is a bit counter-intuitive if you are a first time user, but once you learned you way around the app, you'll enjoy it very much.
You can take a look at some of the screenshots I took here:
http://www.mobile01.com/topicdetail.php?f=423&t=2052983&last=26799835
Spotify
Tried the stock app and also winamp for 5 hours of listening, winamp seems to suck more battery than the stock app?

That's what I use and I love it. It may not have a ll the options and customization the others have but it's a blast to use. Love it. You can hold on a song or folder and add them to the cue for instant playlist.

And when you create you're character you're given a nice description now too and older players will appreciate that you can name your character from the start.

Alot apparently I haven't played this one too much.
I like it so far, more refined then the first one. My biggest b!tch with it though is if your Xoom is wiped you lose all progress, with a game like this you think they would have some kind of cloud storage, also since you can buy in game points with real money, feels like a waste to invest so much time and have a woopsy moment and not be able to recover anything.
I love the online play with this though, seems a lot better than First Wave.

Well because it is free I believe I'm allowed to suggest that you search for the apk as a simple solution.
why it doesnt work on galaxy y?
any solutions to make it work on GT-S5360(galaxy y)??
i want to play it on my sgy..
I got this Walkman app from a rom (I can't remember which one). But I can't seem to find anything like it.
Can anyone tell me if its the original app or a mod or a miui or something?
I've attached the apk if you want to see it for yourself. But it can't be installed from the SD card normally. I have to put it in /system/app of my rom and flash it for the app to work. I don't know if its a permission thing but kudos if you could figure it out.

Also, the interesting thing about this app is that it can choose from my music library when I set my ringtones or alarms. I haven't seen any other app that can do this.
You will not find any real Walkman player around here. Only MIUI Music mods.
That's what I found out too by searching XDA and google. That's why I'm curious about this app.

How did you come across this file? It's the ..... strangest thing. Perhaps its origins may shed more light on its true nature ....
It came with a rom I used before. My guess is that its from one of the early versions of GingerXperia by xperiafan13 but I'm not quite sure. Also, the only other rom I really use is doxianh's GDX. Did you try the app? Its actually a decent music player in my opinion.

I think it could have really came from xgin since there was an issue with the "originality" of GingerXperia a few months ago, if I remember correctly.

Sweet! Now on the quest for an update from any possible forum!
Google result with the new info about xgin and this app resulted to this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1081515http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1081515
Its not quite the app I was talking about but I'll try it anyways. Who knows this could be a newer version of this app.
UPDATE:
I tried the app from the link and unfortunately I don't think its a version of the app. The UI is quite different and it also doesn't have the option to choose from my music library in setting ringtones or alarms. It also had fewer options like the shake to skip. So the hunt continues
