Hello ALL!
What's the best music app for the Nexus S?
I have Double Twist and also the latest version of Google music that came out 05/10/2011...

PowerAMP is badass.
I personally swear by PlayerPro. It's the only player I've come across that allows you to skip tracks using your volume buttons while on the lockscreen. This means you can control your music without ever taking the phone out of your pocket. I tried PowerAmp as well as it's a pretty popular player, but I don't think PowerAmp has anything that PlayerPro can't match, if not outdo.
PowerAmp can skip tracks using the inline button. Very handy.
Im pretty sure the shuffle on poweramp is a bit dodgy though. It seems to take a random 10 or so songs and shuffle it that way. Makes repeating songs quite often imo. Plus poweramp tends to eat up more battery for some reason.
Ive been using winamp atm.
Google Music 3 and TTPOD 2, i think both are best combination
I'd say Rockbox is the most powerful. It's a port of the popular open source firmware for many digital portable players. Supports a huge number of codecs, replaygain, powerful playlist features, and many advanced features for you to explore. Its UI is a bit counter-intuitive if you are a first time user, but once you learned you way around the app, you'll enjoy it very much.
You can take a look at some of the screenshots I took here:
http://www.mobile01.com/topicdetail.php?f=423&t=2052983&last=26799835
Spotify
Tried the stock app and also winamp for 5 hours of listening, winamp seems to suck more battery than the stock app?
PowerAMP is the best you can get...

PowerAMP hands down. Most powerful music player with EQ settings, great folder organization, lockscreen widgets, album art downloader, and headset compatibility.
Wow thank you Demo. Cubed is going to occupy all my time now!

That's what I use and I love it. It may not have a ll the options and customization the others have but it's a blast to use. Love it. You can hold on a song or folder and add them to the cue for instant playlist.
Finally got Rockbox running on my Nexus S Don't have to convert all my FLAC files anymore woo hoo!
Power Amp. Period. Worth every penny IMO.
Where is MY cookie?

Mixzing only one with an audio EQ. Thus my player of choice.
Mixzing is good!! Its growing on me, but i have to admit the EQ isnt that great needs a bit more work
If you want more opinions there's a thread about this topic in the general android software forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=733651
I was also trying to decide on a player. Ultimately I chose the paid version of mixzing.
I like bTunes because I can create a current play list and/or playlists for later.. I didn't see any others which seemed to do this.
But the iPony interface has GOT TO DIE. I hate it.
Truthfully, this list to vote on is quite limited. There's just so many.
I've looked at winamp, cubed, ttpad, google music builtin, player pro, amp and a few random others.
Of the list above I haven't found one I love yet and havent tried many of what the OP posted.
TTpad is not good at all, it boggles my mind why people keep +1 ing it all over the place? For bleeps sake, at least make it multilingual so us purely english speakers and readers dont have to deal with script which means nothing to us.
Google music is decent and free. It needs a home screen, album art, lyrics. Player Pro has it. This thread has inspired me to try mixzing (but its UI artwork didnt grab me). I'll post back with a real vote.
Edit: I went to play store to try mixzing, noted it wants permissions to read personal data and log files? Screw off. This is unnecessary. I'm not trying it.
personnaly i dont care about permission...
And i use Poweramp. great music player you xan add themes

I understand many people don't.. but you should! If I could make one change in the smart phone community today, this would be it!!!
Do you walk around with your credit card number taped to your back and magnified with the CVV code there for convenience? Do you videotape your intimate relations and play them at work or school publicly? Do you enjoy telemarketers calling you at any hour and automated systems trying to sell you stuff that oddly relates to a web search you placed a few days earlier? Does your family & friends enjoy getting these annoying calls when their cell phone # has been learned from your compromised phone?
Clearly I am exaggerating, but not as much as you may think. This is quite a realistic relationship. You should care.

not exactly sure what you mean by that, but the doubletwist music player is pretty sweet. You can download the program on your computer, its like a zune/itunes type thing. The best part is it allows you to wirelessly sync your music from computer to captivate over wifi.

There is a WP7 launcher in the market, and a zune home app. The WP7 launcher us free, zune home pretty cheap. But neither of them handle music, just home screens. So you can have a taste of Zune.
Now the really important question: will the captivate ever get a WP7 port? That would be sweet.

I made a zune/wp7 music player app in appinventor as a proof-of-concept. Is it what you were thinking of? P.s. its not great, and theres better projects of this type of app coming from other devs soon, but its just a concept in appinventor

It happens with both. The .apk within' the cwm zip is the same. I noticed that too. Touch the very top of the album art.

Interestingly enough, after rebooting my phone and starting MIUI Music my touch calibration seems to be spot on now.

Miui Vs Poweramp
In terms of functionality how does Miui compare to Poweramp? I can appreciate its aesthetics but if the equalizer, supported formats, and gapless playback isn't there then it becomes hard to justify changing.

It's in Chinese for me too, but the screenshot shows it should be in English. Where can I find the same version in English?
So can someone take this app and make the ENGLISH version install like a normal app for those of us that are not rooted or don't want to flash it in to the system directory?
I know this can be done because did that for a previous version which allowed me to use MIUI Music.
Also, does anyone know where I can find the source code for just MIUI Music and not the whole ROM?
I like this but is there a way to take it off?

Or keyboard...hadnt really thought about it before, but i used to use a keyboard for gaming on my PC all the time. Anyone doing this?
So i went ahead and ordered an iControlPad and I will report back here what it can or can't do on my VZW gb tab.

Edit: just read in the comments for the 'Bluez IME' app which supports all of the controllers noted in the subject that it supposedly does work on a galaxy tab 7. Guess i will know first hand soon enough
yes! I thought I was the only one, I use my bluetootg keyboard witg enulators, and other games? Love playing doom and prince of persia in ADOSBOX. I recomend trying this out, thinkgeek has a pretty nice keyboard case for it which I use for gaming and typing this post, it does require getting used to. (i really recomend trying adosbox, it is great for classics. all Ive been doing the past few day.)
I was starting to wonder if anyone else had any interest in the subject. Still waiting for the shipment. Will probably look into keyboards soon...I would love to try some descent on my tab.

I ordered an iControlPad too and waiting for it to arrive. After it does I'll post an update on how it is. I plan to use it with fpse, gameboid and n64oid. I have heard that not many android games support buttons via bluez-ime.
My iControlPad came in today. Watch for a post of my impressions this weekend, maybe a few pictures while I'm at it.

Sorry, no time to make a youtube video, but the steps are simple enough.
Once you have a control pad and the free BluezIME app that is available from the market, you basically just treat the ICP (iControlPad) as an extended set of hardware keys in the game/app that you would like to control with it. This means that the ICP is not actually recognized as an ICP, but in simple terms, as a set of 20 hardware keys. Once your pad is recognized and connected through the BluezIME app you just go into the custom button settings to assign what the function of each button is. I did this successfully with both FPse and snes9x EX, and I am certain that many of the emulation apps would be able to do this.
I was not able to get any applications that natively support the ICP to recognize it as such, which I am assuming is because of the restrictions/limitations that Samsung has built into the bluetooth protocols of their devices. EDIT: latest version of FPse did recognize the ICP without BluezIME! BUT, the fact that I was able to work around this with the BluezIME app and custom button settings in my apps of choice makes me very pleased with the purchase.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not much to say about the product itself. It seems well built and I noticed no delay in the controls or problems with gaming situations that require pressing multiple buttons at once. It is about the size of an old NES controller and has 20 programmable buttons when used with the BluezIME app.
My biggest gripe with playing emulators on my tab in the past was that button combinations were very difficult with on-screen controls, and your hands just get in the way of the experience. This device eliminates both of those glaring problems. If you are into emulation, skip the wiimote drama because this is what you are looking for. Personally, I feel that this little device adds a ton of value to my tab.
I got one too and its great. Also I can use it with other devices like laptops and desktop pcs.
Can anyone confirm if this works with the wifi only version (p1010)? I received mine yesterday, and can't get it to connect. I've tried blueZ as well as some of the other modes for the device. Maybe you guys could help?

Very Chris Cornellish mate...I like it
just a suggestion..the drummer over does it in my opinion. he is making it sound more like death metal gone ballad than just participating and letting the bass take over.
Other than that...sound pretty good!
That's very funny because I'm the drummer. Also one of the primary songwriters.
This experience in the studio has been a huge learning experience for me. We also don't have a bassist. So what has happened with this CD is I've gone in and laid down the scratch track on guitar then the drum track on every song, without certainty on what they would do with the actual guitar parts once everything else was set in stone. If you listen to newer songs, like Opportunities, you can hear how much I've learned about laying back. The recording engineer at the studio has been recording our bass lines. The entire CD will be available for purchase in the next month I think, and it'll have ten songs. I'm sorry that Soundcloud isn't working for you because I don't believe Opportunities is on our Facebook. Masterbeast is the best example of my overplaying. Thanks for your criticism.

I played producer/arranger for a local singer years ago and I know for a fact that being at a studio is not an easy task as many would think.
On your drumming...as I said...lay down the foot pedal a bit and if you are doing it..keep it up
