I'm looking to ditch my iPod and replace it with my hero. I have a belkin tunecast for my iPod and want something like that. It's an additional plus if its fairly generic and could work with future phones.
Thanks

It appears Best Buy has the Nexus S dock on sale right now for $19.99 instead of the normal $39.99. I picked one up for my Nexus S last night. Be sure to check out your local store if you are in the market

I bought one. It will be handy St work. Decent price I think at $20?

Yikes, just read the reviews on Best Buy's website. Seems that this is not a multimedia dock, but just a piece of plastic that holds your phone while it charges. No speakers or audio input on the dock, nothing multimedia about it.
Then don't buy it

It clearly states in the description that it is designed for you to use the speakerphone and media player while charging the phone. Think of it like a kickstands that charges your phone.

The Nexus S Dock is a bad joke. No comparison to the great Nexus One Dock. I don't want to have to fit in the usb slot every time I put the Nexus into the Dock. With the Nexus you just put the phone on the Dock without fiddling around. I think every Nexus phone should have such charging contacts like the Nexus one did...

I picked one up. If nothing else, it's a cheap OEM charger. They also had an open box Samsung Nexus S car dock for $22.99.
Both work great, especially the car dock. It's nice to have something made for the Nexus S, even though the dock isn't powered (you have to manually plug in the cord). Not a big deal as I've been doing it all along anyway when I get in the car.
yeah this dock is kind of a joke compared to the nexus one dock. i hope the nexus prime or whatever they call it has inductive charging or at least charging contacts like the n1 did.
Hey guys, according to this thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2050380, given the right kernel and hardware setup, you can have a USB hub, mouse, keyboard, and a memory stick all powered off a charger that is also powering the Nexus tablet.
If this is true, then I am going to start working on a TRUE dock, one that would turn the Nexus 7 into a sort of PC.
See the attached image for a rough outline of how things would be setup.
For the body of the dock, I will 3d print it. I'm pretty good at 3d printing, my previous project (Andraxis, a cellphone mount for PS3 controllers) was probably much more difficult than this would be. Like that project, this will be open development where anybody can suggest changes, and eventually buy their own.
So here is what I need from you guys: Suggestions for USB hubs. I need something that is so readily available anybody could buy it, cheap enough they won't mind paying for it on top of what will likely end up being $40+ worth of a 3d printed case and USB cables, and of course, super small.
Let's make this happen guys!

this is great. I might model my own dock, and create a prototype with a 3D printer.
Just use Bluetooth mouse and keyboard? I assume you can use them both at the same time?

Interesting, good luck with the project.

This looks interesting, I will be following this
This kernel might be what you need for your build,be sure to give props to the dev if it is.

That's likely the kernel I was thinking of, thanks!
Does anybody have suggestions for USB hubs?

Title says it. Are there any BT keyboards with a built-in phone stand? I'd love to have a full-size keyboard I could just plop my N2 on when I'm home and have it on my lap.

same one I have, also with a bluetooth mouse it is a awesome combo when hooked up to all share cast or mhl...etc.
Thanks a bunch. Does the stand actually connect to the keyboard?
I have the same question. I have had my Note 2 for about a week and I have discovered that my Chromebook is collecting dust because this phone can do everything that the it can do and more, except for typing long emails etc.
What I am looking for is a keyboard and trackpad combo with a built in stand.
I was hoping to find something like this Logitech USB keyboard/trackpad that I use with my media center PC but with a built in stand and bluetooth..

Didn't samsung make a keyboard/trackpad combo for the Galaxy Tab? I can't find it online now.
PS - anybody want to buy a used Chromebook?
Doing my daughter's bedroom up and looking fir a good dock station that allows speakers to be plugged in or work over Bluetooth, she has seen some water speakers but want to make sure they are compatible with a good docking station
Thanks for any help

... that come with a 3.5" audio plug and have an integrated amp or something, e.g. pc-speakers.
Has anyone seen any kind of tech, case, housing, or attachment that adds sound to both sides of the phone, similar to the HTC one? With such a gorgeous screen this phone is perfect for Netflix or movies but I hate having to Cup my hand around the bottom of the phone to improve the sound. Also not always in the mood for the complete isolation that earbuds enforce.
Thanks

Thanks for the idea, I didn't realise LG sold a docking station, it looks pretty cool but that doesn't really solve my problem. Nice idea tho!
your welcome, its a killer idea: a case with buildin boombox and speakers, never seen or heard of it yet
a niche market
Sent from my LG-D802
Yeah, or even just some sort of device that snaps onto the sides. And either redirects the sound of reproduces it. You're right tho, it's prolly a pretty small market. I just wish LG would have followed HTC in that respect. They seem to have put a lot of effort into the quality of the sound the phone is capable of handing but didn't care about how well it reproduces that sound.

Hey, Hey that looks pretty cool! You think our phones would fit?
It says it's compatible. The stock image has what I think is an iPhone 3 in it with room to spare.
