Skinning Coreplayer - Windows Mobile Themes

I´d like to make my own skin (CE 5.0, Resolution 480x272) für my PNA.
As you can see, it´s working but I´m in trouble with some buttons.
Under "File Selection", "All", "None" and "OK" I cant see the buttons, but they
are included as bmp.
So please have a look at the attached skin.xml

Nobody any idea???
If not, my project goes straight to the bin

This works, however:
1) It doesn't seem to be half as 'usable' as per on my previous (QVGA) Touch, mainly in the way it seems tricky to actually selected a contact - u have to be very precise and aim more for the actual phone number beneath the name - not as 'thumb' friendly. Hopefully there is some sensitivity setting that can be tweaked?
2) You don't seem to be able to tap in the top right hand corner (full screen mode) to minimize
3) Being picky here.. but the theme attached to the above is titled "Touch VGA" however on my device at least it seems nothing like a VGA version of the Touch (ie. greys) theme, but instead while & orange?!
4) As per other posts in this thread non of the Touch Diamond shortcuts are mapped, both from within the TF3D (All People) and within the PhoneDialer app.
Any ideas / suggestions.. more to the first point or two?
Thanks, Simon
Further to my comments above, I've just pulled down the latest v0.24 which includes an "improved Black theme" (the supplied VGA theme). I don't think there's any difference relevant to Diamond owners, although in playing around with it I have noticed it is possible to select a given contact with your thumb so long as you use a very light touch - again suggesting there is some sort of sensitivity setting that could be tweaked.
Still not possible to minimize using a tap in the top right corner, and also in this version I've noticed the blank headshot placeholder used for contacts without pictures is now not aligned (however the ones with pictures look very nice with the fancy reflection effect!).
I think the bottom line is the person responsible for this excellent app doesn't have a VGA device available to him; guess we can only hope as such devices become more popular that more weight will be added behind fixing such issues.
got latest version,
just install and use black theme.
To select contacts, just tap theme, don't press. A tap does the trick, works great.

[TUT] How to open a manila tab with shortcut

Hi,
you can open a tab with this:
\windows\manila.exe --switchtopage home.page
Instead of "home.page" you can use:
messaging.page
weather.page
people.page
email.page
album.page
music.page
internet.page
settings.page
programs.page
You can also use the shortcut for:
Manila softkeys:
31. Remap Manila softkeys:
HKLM/Software/HTC/manila/
HomeLSKPath, which is the left softkey (Standard = Phonepad)
And
HomeRSKPath, which is the right softkey.
If you change these with the location of the programs you want to link to, and simultaneous change the names:
HomeLSKText = Left softkey text
And
HomeRSKText = Right softkey text.
Example:
HomeLSKPath: "\windows\manila.exe"
HomeLSKText: "E-Mail"
HomeLSKArguments: "--switchtopage email.page"
Greets
Sascha
Thanx for your tutorial,
did you find the name for call log?
I want to map it to Homescreen Call Log, since the built in one looks pretty ugly.
try:
calllog.page
or
callhistory.page
Which means... Anybody could create a today plugin, replacing the bottom scroll bar bar something else but keeping the same pages ?

Hi,
This is almost what I was looking for.
I would like to have a similar solution to add a shortcut to a subpage of Manila tab.
Something like
HomeLSKArguments: "--switchtopage settings.page.sound"
Well, the above does not work.
I would like to add a shortcut on home screen to the "sound" subpage in the Settings tab, so I can quickly switch profiles: normal, silent, vibrate.
Is this at all possible?
Thanks.
btw: I'm sorry! I figured it out a few weeks ago, but forgot to tell you this

No, submenus can't opened with "switchtopage", but maybe someone figure out another argument for manila.exe
"switchtosubpage" or something like that doesn't exist.
@sushilange
Thanx for all your great work! without you guys we would be lost...
I have a little question about pages in manila...
I was thinking that the 'Action screen' in the HTC Raphael might be somewhere in the manila files.. cus the icons are there..??
Just a wild thought
You haven't accidently stumbled upon this??
Oh, this would be very, very cool
This may be perfect for remapping TF3D homescreen softkeys.
How about creating standalone shortcuts? It doesn't work. Anyone tried?
anyone?.............
I have a dutch ROM (1.93) and for me this doesn't do anything.
If I do this:
HomeLSKPath: "\windows\manila.exe"
HomeLSKText: "Music"
HomeLSKArguments: "--switchtopage music.page"
And then click on that button, it doesn't do anything.
Anyone knows maybe for ROMS in other languages than english that the command might be different ?
Can some of this be used to add new tabs to Manila?

Or to change the name and functionality of a given tab?
I tried several Manila ROMS (NATF v3 and v4, Hyperdragon III) but couldn't get used to not being able to customize the screens as I like (say like using SPB Shell and customizing the contents of any given tab).
Further, I have several apps that use a Today plugin (eg Newsbreak, PocketWeather), and I'd like to find a way to incorporate these into the Home page, or to create a Today Plugins tab, or just create a separate tab for each.
The weather tab, for example, is not practical for me, as I live in one city, work in another city, and constantly follow the weather in cities where I (or my wife) are about to travel. So having a single city weather page is of no use to me, and this is why I need to have the PocketWeather tab available.
I'd appreciate any ideas.
Thank you.
Any way to make a shortcut to a tab that will also bring up that tab on the screen? I made a shortcut to the Programs tab that I assigned to a button, but if I press the button while not in Manila it goes to the Programs tab in the background, without actually showing the tab.
Thanks!
EDIT: Nevermind, I just wrote a 2-line mortscript:
Run( "\windows\manila.exe", "--switchtopage programs.page")
show("Start")

Some Questions about the Diamond

Hey!
I have an MDA Compact IV, in other words a branded HTC Touch Diamond from T-Mobile De.
The interface of this device is very ugly and the colors don't fit to the case of the Diamond. So i installed TF3D Config and changed the Theme to the original HTC one.
> My problem is that it seems to be very slow, changing the tabs takes longer than with the T-Mobile Theme. Could this be caused by S2U2?
Another Problem is that S2U2 can be disabled by pressing the "Home" Button. All other Keys are dead exept the home button when S2U2 locks the device.
Any advice? Or an other programm?
No one any idea?
What do i make wrong that noone answers my questions?
S2U2 works ok for me? go to settings, key lock, select: do not lock buttons
as for speed theres plenty of registry tweeks, or try custom rom?
Thanks for the answer!
S2U2 works even good, but i can't fix that S2U2 don't block the home butten. All other parts of the tool work great. On your phone S2U2 blocks the home button as well?
And the speed hacks: Why is the ugly skin made by t-mobile so fast and the original htc skin out of this forum so slow? I just don't get it...
How can i edit the registry? I don't find a programm to make it. It's really hard for me to understand all that is written in this forum.
de: versuche mal diesen Reg-Editor:
en: check this registry editor:
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/Software/PHM_RegEdit_0.70_ARM.cab
Dank dir, werde ich testen!
Thanks, i'll try ^^
But first i will try to find a net.framework updatepack for WM 6.1.

[APP]psShutXP Fuze/Touch Pro - Replaces Long-Press Power Key

First I would like to state that none of the graphics in this cab file are my work. I don't know who made them but it wasn't me. Also, I am not the developer of psShutXP.
What I did was fix psShutXP so that it replaces the Long-Press Power Key. Instead of having a lame, white "Do you want to shut down" window that pops up when you hold the power button, you will have a nicely skinned psShutXP window that gives you the options to turn off the display, power off the device, reboot the device, hard reset the device, and even gives you the options to set reboot schedules.
Note that ALL functions are working in this cab that I put together including Shut Down.
I made 2 cab files. One for the Fuze and one for the Touch Pro.
Screenshots:
Very neat app. it matches my black theme.
not questioning, but wondering what the diff is with this one and the cab from the diamond forum for psshutxp that works on our fuze's to map it to longpress power key?
I just override the original .exe file with renamed psShutXP.exe and put the skin in the same directory, works like a charm
//Edit
From what I can see, your CAB does exactly the same thing .

if you look closely you will see that the themes are slightly different. The diamond one i posted in the diamond forum says diamond, the TP one says power options, the fuze one says fuze. not huge differences but differences non the less.

Lol nope. Just the themes. This cab file is actually the best way to go IMO because it offers the Shut Down capabilities of PowerOffWarning.exe with the added looks and functionality of psShutXP.
Hands down, a winner in my book.

Wow, I did the exact same thing about a month ago on my TP ROM. Used the same skin too but slightly modified.
Did you just renamed PsShut or did you do something differnt? I havent had a chance to look yet at the cabs. For my cab's I renamed PsShut to Poweroff warning.exe or whatever. I then made it into kitchen selections. If anyone is interested I can upload them when I get home.
One of the best apps I've found. Thanks for your work.

If you look closely at the cab files you will see that this does not just rename psshutxp.exe to PowerOffWarning.exe. It actually contains both exes but in a working combination so that the power off function actually works.
perfect reset tool for me
That's exactly what I've been looking for, with the perfect skin for my Touch Pro (resp. T-Mobile MDA Vario IV), thanks for your good work!
Just a remark: on my device it installed to the Windows directory and did not create a link e.g. in startmenu/programs, made that manually since I like the additional possibility of resetting without need of using hardware buttons, could be a further improvement.
The basic psshutXP from developpers web site did that, maybe it's also a good idea to leave the link to that site here:
http://ppcsoft.narod.ru/english/index.htm
There you'll also find additional skins, though these black HTC adapted skins from above are perfect.
so... psshutxp "shutdown" function of this cab... really power off the device or just send it to stan by? its works for QVGA?
Thanks for the utility. I think it is very useful.
Question - after installing, it places itself into the System Tray in the Today's screen. Is there anyway of removing it - afterall, using this utility is already so easy via the power button.
QVGA available

Hello wolframio,
look to the basic developers page for QVGA skins, there are some available:
http://ppcsoft.narod.ru/english/skins.htm
http://ppcsoft.narod.ru/english/users_skins.htm
You'll need those one for QVGA devices, also a HTC adapted black skin is there.
It turns off device, switches display off or restarts your mobile, even hard reset is possible with some 'hidden' button on upper right side, with confirmation pop-ups...
i mean, this really turn of the phone, i got psshutxp cooked on my own rom with my own psshutxp skin
excellent app
thank you!!! not much but here you go 29275987W5492260D
This is still not shutting down my Touch Pro (CDMA, MightyRom 4.16). When I press "shutdown" it just turns the screen off. And now it has taken over my power button, so I REALLY can't shut down.
EDIT: Actually, I see that by long-pressing the power button, and pressing shutdown on this tool, my phone actually does shutdown. But it doesn't work when I launch the program instead of pressing the power button. Is this what is intended?

instead of writing how people should not help you, you should have taken the time to google. this would have been better.
also you should specify what softkeys you are talking about:
today screen or manila.
anyway, here they are:
today screen:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\113
manila:
HKLM\Software\HTC\manila\HomeLSKPath
HKLM\Software\HTC\manila\HomeRSKPath
