Please forgive me if this is being discussed elsewhere, but I skimmed through the Kaiser forum, and I didn't see anyone else mentioning this problem. My phone automatically reset the clock for DST yesterday, and looking through the calendar today all the appointments are an hour off. For example, my work schedule. On the day summary page it says I work 07:30 - 21:00 today, however when you click edit appointment it says 06:30 - 20:00. On Wednesday I have jury duty. On the day page it says that jury duty starts at 10:30, however it really starts at 9:30, and if I show up an hour late I am in contempt of court!
Is there a setting I am not aware of? When I click edit appointment it shows the correct time, but on the day page its an hour late. The thing that really bothers me is that since I have an erratic schedule at work I have it set to remind me an hour before, just in case I forget to set my alarm clock the night before. Today I got my 1 hour reminder while actually driving to work!
I am using the new Tilt ROM, details are in my signature.
Thanks, Jay
Update: I've been on the phone with AT&T tech support for 30 minutes now, and it still doesn't work right ...

If you are saying the Today Screen Calendar is off by an hour, but the calendar inside the pda is ok; A soft reset should fix your issue.
We had a couple of Hermes and kaiser's with this issue yesterday.
Try the attached cab
Ok, I 've been transferred to HTC support from ATT, which is nice, I didn't have to call them myself, and the ATT rep explained my problem to them. There is a hotfix of this issue, I haven't tried it yet, but I figured I'd share. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949168

I've soft reset and took the battery out. I'm going to try the DST cab.

WOW! Mine is too!
Didn't even notice.
All my calendar events were changed from 8am start to 9am start.
What the heck?!
Yeah, it's stupid daylight savings time. You have to download a patch from microsoft to fix it, can do it straight to the phone by going to www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile and hit the Update option. I don't really understand why it couldn't just be automatically sent thru the Windows Update option under Settings...talk about a frustrating issue though!
now the question is will it work with 6.1
I saw this coming days ahead because of my scheduling :S...
Anyways, what fixed for me was just fixing the time on my Kaiser, all but one (?) appointments switched back to the original time automatically. No extra cabs or tweaks.
Good luck with that.
I've tried running that patch, and after installing the cab, it resets the Tilt, and then when it comes back everything is still the same. I've tried switching to a different timezone, and then back (per the advice in the another thread) to no avail.
Jimmyv - what do you mean you "fixed" the time?
Jay, please keep us updated as to what you're finding out.

I tried resetting the clock, but the appointments were not effected. I just got back from lunch, I'm going to try the cab now.

Keep in mind this is not, nor should it be considered, a permanent fix. I don't know what long-term problems this could cause, but I'll tell you how I got it to work for me.
1. (Not sure if this is needed, because it didn't seem to change anything) Install the 2008 DST update from Microsoft.
2. Make sure all your appointments are still set to their original times (As in, you didn't change the original hour so that it'd remind you with it's skewed view of reality )
2a. (You may not have to do this) Under the Phone options dialog (Settings -> Personal -> Phone), go to the 'Time Zones' tab, and uncheck 'Automatic change time zone and clock'.
3. Go to the clock settings dialog (Settings -> System -> Clock & Alarms) Set the time zone to the one an hour behind you (-6 to -7 is what I did)
4. Set the time, manually, an hour ahead. (In the system clock dialog, there are two options for time: Time zone, and time. Set the time zone an hour behind, then set the actual time an hour ahead.)
5. Enjoy. Your appointments should now be okay.
I do hope someone figures out what's really causing this, though, because I'm not keen on changing the time zone every time DST comes into effect.
--------
AT&T Tilt, running Custel 2.1 AT&T Chopped and Screwed with Custel Touch Fix.
Mine works fine.
Your time is pulled off the network. I don't see how this could cause a problem.
YEa... had this problem myself. Figured it was a good time to hard reset and reinstall since I had a crapload of stuff I didn't use anymore.

That worked, but for appointments I entered today now are an hour early! I can't win.

A hard reset wouldn't be bad, but I really don't want to re-enter all of my appointments. Otherwise I could fix it by just deleting all the appointments and re-entering them.

I think the problem is that 2 things are trying to do the same thing. The network is trying to adjust for DST and windows is trying to do it too. I wish there was a way to just turn off DST and let the phone manage the time.

I just had a brainstorm! I'm in the eastern time zone. (GMT -5) Indiana does not participate in DST. I switched my time zone to GMT-5 Indiana, and all my appointments are correct now. I'm leaving autoupdate time on the phone, so this should take care of itself, and the phone will manage the time changes.
-Jay
I just realized you do have to turn autoupdate time off to use my earlier method. Futhermore, due to the same problem, I'm not sure you're new method will work forever. The reason I had to turn autoupdate time off was because the network told my phone it was -not- in the -7 time zone. I think, after a little bit of time, it will tell you're phone it's not in Indiana and you'll be stuck with the same problem all over again. x.x I'm going to look at the registry for the clock/calendar integration and see if I can't find some hidden setting that'll stop the clock from messing with the appointments. I'm pretty new to this though, so don't bet on my finding something that'll work. Any help from someone smarter would be very much appreciated. ;D
Edit: Sadly, the only thing I could find that looks anywhere close to something in relation to this is the value TimeZoneInformation in HKLM\Time. I can't figure out how I'm supposed to edit that so that changing the time zone doesn't touch the appointments, though. I'm not even convinced it's possible. Anyone else know any registry values that might relate to this problem? I'm going to try and decompile the MS patch next to see if I can find any hints with what they did.. Even if it didn't work.
Was texting some chick last nite.....slept with the phone on bed.....today morning dropped it on the floor while getting up.....the battery came out.
put it back.
and switched it on....to find that messages over the last 4 days have been deleted.
all sms'es dated before after Saturday are gone.
why did that happen? is there any way to recover the lost data?
i had lot of important details in some of those messages.
First lol @ your screen name and you having fallen asleep .
Now, I guess you have deleted them while moving around in the bed with the phone somewhere in the mix. You can always try one of those programs people use to revocer photos and info from deleted cards, but I wouldn't hold my breath...

maybe u deleted it whilst moving in your sleep like orslei said. if u have a unlimited data contract it may be a good idea to install myphone and make it update your sms etc every night. i get it to update every sunday at 6am but thats more to keep my contacts than anything else but i do backup my texts too.
Hi all
I am a newbie here but I have been modding and reg editing my phones for some time. Today I had a serious incident which I have never seen before. My password prompt came up as usual after the tomeout period but the 4 digit simple password wasn't accepted. The password is DEFINATELY right and when I press cancel I get a brief flash of the today screen. So unable to go around this I hard reset the device. Fine. Reboot. Fine. Restore a Backup from 3 days ago (SPB Backup) and boom another password screen appears. One I have never seen before. After getting the password wrong a couple of times a countdown timer appears and doubles the number of seconds I have to wait between attempts. 2 seconds, 4 seconds, 8 seconds, 16 seconds etc etc. This looks and behaves like a virus but HOW can it be in my backup?
Please help me recover my beloved X1.
Cheers
Magyver
Update..
I am quite surprised not to have had any replies to this as usually this forum is quite active.
I tried a new tack last night and reinstalled my SPB backup on a hard rest (again) but this time I only restored certain elements, which SPB Backup allows you to do, this succeeded in getting my PIM data back (phew) so then I tried some but ot all of the registry. Eventually I was able to incrementally bring the phone back up to "4 days ago" HOWEVER in this process my phone memory "storage" section became full! Of what, I have no idea as when I do a search there isn't any big stuff in there. I am totally baffeled, so if anyone has any ideas observations comments on how I can deep scan the "storage" memory to see what is going on I would be greatful. There does appear to be an awful lot of "manila" files in there but I can't remember what I installed or removed which might require manilla files.
Come on guys, I feel like that teacher in Ferris Bueller's Day Off;
"Bueller, Bueller, Bueller.........."
1 - Are you on a custom ROM
2 - Just look whats on your storage card and tell us what it is and which ones are newest and taking up the most space.
3 - What did you last install before it broke first time?
both official roms and custom roms have bugs
but virus's are not cross platform so a pc virus could never work on a wm device because it's not the same os
and the market % of wm devices mean few virus makers will spend too much time making custom virus's for your phone
there are maybe a handful read here
http://itvibe.com/news/2734/
http://www.securelist.com/en/analysis?pubid=170773606
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_virus
and even those as I see it as more proof of concept then a menense
Is it possible to find out when exactly the phone last shut down?
i think this is what your looking for, although you will have to do some calculating.
Go into the phone and Enter *#*#4636#*#* once you do this, click on *battery Information* it should say *time since last boot: hr:min:sec like for me its 107 hours since last boot.
Hope this helps.
just go into main settings, about, status, and at the bottom shows how long the phone has been running since last reboot. you can do the math from there.
highest i've got on record was 540 hours without reboot, that's about 22 days, and i just gave up counting after that cause it went forever.
Hi at all,
I need to ask help at the community to solve my problem, because I tried all the ways to clean up my phone but without any good results.
some days ago (at 15 november evening) after a normal activity of apps update by Play Store, a strange log.txt file begins to appear in the memory of myphone. Location "/storage/emulated/0/Download".
In that file I can find attached avery 15 minutes a dettailed summary information of my SIM1 (I have two SIM in my phone). At below an example of data recorded in the file. It's the same repeated and appended every update of the file.
1574024271270;NW-MONITORING - Collect - CSV_DATA;[NUMBER OF MY SIM],[SERIAL N. OF MY SIM],[IMEI OF MY PHONE],1574024271145,0,4,-1.0,-1.0,-1.0,false,22288,-1,-1,-1,-103,false,false,true,47,0,656,IR=false;ID=4;LI=0;WF=<unknown ssid>;DS=1;
I tried to cancel all app updated before the fact. It did not work
I tried with factory reset of the phone and restore a backup of my data. After some hours the strange file's activity has been reborn.
Yesterday, after a system update the file's activity has been stopped for some time (1 hour about).
Do you have any ideas to help me?
Thanks at all for your suggestions and helps.

-factory reset.
-DONT restore data. keep phone stock
if after 1 day or two the issue dosen't come back. you know its something you installed.
might want to install 1 app at a time and wait till the problem comeback. that way you'll know what is responsible.
Same problem on my Samsung S3 Neo.
Telephone number, serial number of Sim, IMEI of telephone...
I disinstalled l'App MyWind and the file was no longer written...
I reinstalled today l'App MyWind and nothing..... for now.
