Ok, I'm stumped...need help here.
I have the desktop dock here. Listening to Pandora via WiFi and can't see how to set it up to allow BT streamed music to the dock.
Does the phone HAVE to be docked to play music out the dock audio? I thought I read it can be on or of the dock and stream music thru the dock.
But right now once I take the phone off the dock it will only play out the phone speaker. Put the phone back in dock and the audio then plays out the dock audio.
BT = checked
BT info/settings:
Nexus One Desk Dock - checked (connected to media audio)
BT devices:
Nexus One Desk Dock = connected to media audio
Dock Settings:
use dock for audio = checked
remember settings = checked
dock insertion sound = not checked
N1 with froyo 2.2
figured out the auto-sleep thing with the setting in pandora.
Just following up.
finally - got it to connect and play audio thru dock via BT (without it being in the dock).
Unchecked the dock settings (audio and remember settings). Did a reboot.
Put in dock and rechecked the dock settings. Played the music in dock.
Took out of dock ...and finally it worked, after a pause it started BT audio streaming.
Not sure what hung it up before though.

Both the N1 Desk and Car Docks require a docking event to trigger a BT connection. If BT is ON and either device is in range you can still manually go to BT settings & tap on the applicable paired device to connect without a docking event.
I use both docks in my car simultaneously. Car Dock for charging and phone audio. Desk Dock for media audio.
Here is my problem: Placing N1 in car dock triggers Car Dock event and BT phone audio connection is established. But I still have to manually go into BT settings and tap the paired desk dock to make its media audio connection. I want to automate this task so it happens at the same time as the car dock BT.
I use the setting profiles tool to sense car dock placement and it can do clever things like turn sound up, activate BT and brighten screen. It can even run apps. So to this end........is there an automation/macro utility that could be used to simply command desk dock connection? I could then get setting profiles to make the media audio connection happen.
Alternatively is there some other way to way to tell the N1 to connect to the Desk Dock when placed in the Car dock that does not involve going to BT settings.

Hoping for some help/tips/ideas.
My car radio has a USB port that has an "aux" mode that is supposed to let me stream audio to it. I do not have a car dock.
My question is: how can I get my Cappy to stream audio, including call audio, via USB? I'm running an ICS ROM (Doc's Master ICS V5).
Any help/tips will be appreciated.
you have a couple different options here, to use the usb you will have to select media when you plug it in on your phone. For straight music playing just use a dual 3.5mm cord(same at both ends) and use the headphone jack and aux on the car deck. As for calling and such the only way to do that is if you have a bluetooth enabled stereo.
When I was in a car like that I streamed my music through USB I just connected the USB and put my cappy in USB mode and the car automatically went to reading the music files on my phone. I was running ICS too.

I am using MIUI revolution of my galaxy note and although i am very pleased the option of Enabling the car dock external audio in system option is missing.
Does anyone have any ideas how to direct audio through Samsung car dock when connected and playing movies, audio etc?
Bluetooth is not an option!
Hello
I recently bought the car dock for the Note. Bluetooth audio via ad2p work with my car stereo, but as soon as i put the phone in the dock, it doesn't. The audio defaults trough the line out of the dock witch i dont use. Anyone got a sulotion for this?
Reason you are unable to use is that the mobile gives more priority to the dock compared to your car stereo connection over BT (Physical connection over wireless connection, even your computer also does the same)
I would suggest you to plug a 3.5 mm audio cable form the dock to your car stereo so you still get what you want.
The reason i want to use BT audio is cause i can use the wheel to controll the phone. Can't do this trough line in/out.
You can simply change the automatic activation of voice command via Android settings / docking.

I have a Pioneer NEX4200 headunit in my car that I use in conjunction with an iPod for my driving music. With my old phone (Moto X Pure), even though I wasn't streaming music from it, I could still toggle the MEDIA toggle in the bluetooth settings so that when I used Google Assistant from my head unit, the audio would play back through the car speakers. On the Note 8, it seems that I can only get the MEDIA toggle to stay on if the head unit is set to play music from Bluetooth and not my iPod, which means that when I am using the latter and try to do a voice search, the audio comes through on the phone and not the car speakers.
Am I missing something in my settings on the phone of which I am unaware? Has anyone had this issue?
Thanks!
