Turn down button vibrate? - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey yall, Whenever I hit the hardware buttons (Menu, back search, hom) my phone vibrates. I don't mind it, In fact I would love it, but it vibrates so hard that it seems like I am ruining the vibrator in the phone.. anyone know how I can turn it down a bit?

backlighting turns off too soon, and turns off sound.

Hello all,
When making a call the screen dims WAY too fast then turns of in 10 seconds. is there an option to leave it on all the time, till I decide to turn it off?
It's quite the pain in the A** when I need to enter numbers like when I recently had to activate my XP COA by phone..PHEWW what a nightmare.
The other problem I have is randomly I realize the volume for both are on off..
I dont know how this happens and if I'm to blame but sometimes it happens even if I dont use the phone to make calls I realize the off button is pressed..
Any way to remove the speaker button totally? I wouldn't mind doing it in the settings area..
anyone
can anyone help me?
backlight settings
hi m8, click>start>setting>system, then you should see backlight click this and it gives you the backlight settings if on battery power or external power, hope this helps

Uber Sensitive Power Button?

My power button on my Kaiser is ridiculously sensitive. I barely touch it and it turns the screen off. It started doing this after I flashed to a rom on here. I've flashed many times before that and never had a problem. Is there's a registry setting or some system setting that can make the power button less sensitive?
It doesn't sound like software issue to me. I mean, button has mechanical contacts that need to be pressed, even if you do not have the ROM on the pda, it will work with the same sensitivity. Try maybe it got stuck almost pressed or something.
Any dust/dirt blocking its proper function? Maybe worth opening up the case for a look.
I opened the back cover and blew it out. I noticed that when I press the button harder, it doesnt do it sometimes. I've been pressing it firmly all day and it seems to have worked, so like mentioned before, there was probably some dust in there. Thanks guys.

[Q] Wake the phone using Menu, Home or Back button?

i'm not sure if this answers you question, but usually i push my home button to wake up my phone then slide the screen to unlock it, just like how i do with my iphone previously, no settings is done with my phone
Yeah, same, I always unlock my SGS with the Home-button..
Oh. Did not know that. I don't have the phone yet. Was just reading some people's thoughts about the phone and they were annoyed about the Power button being used to wake the phone. Guess, I should've researched it some more. lol. Thanks for the info.
Either way, I think I figured it out on how to enable/disable the other buttons waking up the phone if I wanted to in that thread I posted. Should be able to wake it up using the other buttons as well instead of being limited to the power button and the home button. Just gotta have root and edit the keyboard layout then push back.
the menu and back keys are capacitative keys, not really ideal for waking with if the phone is carried in your pocket or something

Why is the phone always vibrate after I turn it off?

anyone know this? it vibrates after I turn off the phone after the screen goes black..it happens everytime
Does it on mine too.. It's possible a feedback mechanism to let you know when it's fully turned off (so that people don't button mash the on button).
Or there there could a million other reasons.
i've heard that the phone isn't "completely" off until the vibrate
Its meant to vibrate and once it vibrates but not before its OFF .

(Strange) Note only reboots In my pocket.

So my Note only reboots itself in my pocket. Whenever i bend down to pickup my dog or crouch down.
Ive tried pressing buttons and squeezing the device in my hands to see if any pressure or buttons pressed force the phone to reboot but nothings does it.
Is there a button combination to make the device reboot?
If i hold down the power button i only have the Power Off option. No Reboot option on this rom.
Anyone have any idea what this is? It has never rebooted itself outside my pocket.
Thanks
Neil

It could be a really long press of the power button. I use that to get unstuck from whenever I manage to get it stupidly frozen with the apps I'm developing...
Try it, but keep in mind it should be close to 6 seconds or more.
Yep, long press on the power button will reboot your phone.
I could make so many off-colour remarks here, but I shall restrain myself. The long press of the power button is doing it (as suggested).
Oddly, I had a strange issue where having the screen in toward my thigh caused a press on the screen activating the speaker when on a call. As I was connected to the 'phones, it was irritating. I now keep the screen facing away from me to avoid this. I dislike exposing the screen to potential damage in this way, but thin jeans pockets make it a requirement.
I have exactly the same issue - I was just in the garden and my phone rebooted three times in about five minutes while inside my trouser pocket. There's nothing else in my pocket except a hanky, so how does the power button get pressed?
Like others, I too have the screen towards my thigh. It's happening so often recently that my three old son asks me every time what my phone is doing in my pocket!
I've never known a phone with such badly positioned buttons - fiddly to use volume controls, and now this - it's just really crap design. :-(

Click to collapse
interesting...
but to get the power button depressed while in the pocket is very unlikely for me.
Do you guys keep your vibration on as well?
